View 2 RepliesI have a 2GB m4v file that I wanted to use iDVD to create a movie for. But even taking it off of Best Performance and instead using High Quality, the movie is too large to be burned. It's showing it as a 4.81 GB project.
I'll admit my ignorance here...what gives? How does a 2GB file grow that large when being encoded as a DVD?
I am trying to set up my sequence so it is DV PAL 1024 x 576 and I can't seem to find the option. My sequence currently says it is 720 x 576.
I can import clips as 1024 x 576 but when i put them in the sequence it cuts the top and bottom out and when i tried to scale them in the sequence window it wouldn't let me but in the source window I can see the edges.
A few years ago in high school trip to europe i made an imovie hd project. i am on a new mbp and i have a backup of my old mbp and when i transfer the file macintosh hd->user->movies->europe movie project it doesnt seem to bring the video with it (i cant even locate it!) i opened with imovie and the old imovie hd and the same thing, no video file! any ideas as to where the video files are located? im freakin out here lol
View 3 Replies View RelatedI edit on FCPX v10.0.9... (OSX 10.8.5) ...a client sent video at NTSC 720x480 DV... How do I FIRST import that video into an appropriate project setting without distorting the ratio (it keeps getting converted to 4:3 - narrower - and the original video is not 4:3)? and SECOND export and keep the same aspect ratio? I've done much research and realize that NTSC 720x480 DV is SD and FCPX wants square pixels etc.,My goal is to import the video, edit it, and export it all the while keeping the original aspect ration.

So I literally just spent hours putting together a video for school. I exited out of iMovie knowing it was supposed to save the file on its own. I open it back up to check on it and *poof* it's completely gone. I searched my hardrive and the file exists but it will not open with iMovie or Quicktime. Is there any way to recover this video?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a folder of .PNG files, which i rendered from 3DS Max, and am now looking for a way to make them into a video, i did this once using adobe premiere elements while in college once, but i dont have that software anymore.
I tried dragging all the files into iMovie, but when i click play each frame zooms in, then out, and each image stays on for about 4 seconds each D:
Alright so I was making this video that was really really really difficult to do and I got to like 3:00 of it today and I've been saving, then it just freezes and refuses to do anything. I then realise my external drive somehow turned off for a random reason, so I plugged it back in and it started working again, but then I reopened my project and I get this error

I click on ignore all and it's all in the trash, and what really pisses me off about this is that it took me weeks and weeks and weeks of time to do, there's no way I can redo this all over again. What can I do to get rid of the skipped message and make it all work again
I am in the process of buying a new powerbook (my first one ) and I am looking for a substitute of Microsoft Project 2004.

View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know of an app that will do this? I'm struggling getting iMovie 8 to work right. Apple no longer provides a free download of iMovie HD 6 (*sob*) on their website. QuickTime Pro is no longer available. What can I use to process a long list of image stills into a movie file?

I've been working on avery complicated project all day with multiple layered clips with key frame animations, colour effects etc. All was fine until I opened a new project in the same event which I was going to use to create some effects sequences for the main project. When I went back to the original project it was empty. Tried the Undo function in case I had done anything stupid but it was greyed out. Went to the FCPX backups and the last file was almost 2 hours old but did not have any sign of this project. The only thing I have left is all the imported media.Â
Using FCPX 10.1.3. This is really annoying as all I have left is an h264 file of the almost complete project and it will be almost impossible to start from scratch.Â

How I can connect my macbook pro to a VHS player (with only a scart input) so that I can record images off my mac onto a video? I have been trying to figure this out for so long but I'm having no success.

Flash has plenty of enemies and obstacles, but it also enjoys wide deployment and familiarity. Two areas where Flash can offer real value is in displaying and packaging video on the web, and in serving as a Java replacement for developing applets. Here's a look at how Adobe is working to defend its strengths in the face of competition, and how its efforts to open the Flash specification in the Open Screen Project play into these efforts.

1.I create a new slideshow with any random pictures
2.I click preview or play slideshow and I see a distorted image. basically it looks like two copies of the photo are laid on top of itself on the a triangular portion of the screen.
troubleshooting done so far:
1. I tried exporting to a video file to see if its just my monitor, but the file also displays the same junk image on another monitor.
2. ive turned off all transitions and effects on the slideshow.
3. Also I tried another profile.
iDVD is doing the same thing as well. Any animated dvd menu I choose ends up screw up on my screen. It appears anytime i A. use iphoto to make a slideshow or B. make an IDVD menu the video is corrupted somehow.
I will have to find an ilife disc and try reinstalling, but im thinking it might not be the application's fault.
im not sure what else to try.
This is the first time ive attempted creating a slideshow on this machine so i do not know if it has ever worked before in previous iphoto versions.
note: I would like to fix this problem and not bypass it with another program.
So I found the lost project in FCPX. It has a music tract, text and video. When I pulled the project down for editing, I am able to separate the music from the video, but the text bubbles do not appear above the video allowing me to change the misspelled words that need editing.I've searched all of my backup drives for the original footage in case I have to re-edit the whole thing, but I'm unable to find the original footage. Every event in my libraries appears as a finished project.

I noticed that through darker colored windows I can see very faded images of my desktop icons and sometimes other windows on it. I think the still images are burning onto the screen. Is there anyway to keep this from happening, and will the damage already done disappear eventually?

I have owned a new white macbook for a month or so now and I am a little concerned about the quality of the screen. Basically the viewing angles are very bad. The slightest movement off center, the image completely changes, especially the blacks. Also on a pure black background, the bottom left/right corners are nowhere near black and are sort of shining greyish and it takes a bit of adjustment to get an even black from top to bottom, if at all. I was just wondering if this just a normal circumstance with theses lower-end white macbooks or should there be a better quality screen experience?

I'm running 10.5.2 on a MB Pro. Previously, when I used the built-in screen capture utility (Command+Shift+3 (or 4)) the capture would be saved in .png format into my "Desktop" directory. Now, when I do captures the data is not saved to a file, but instead is copied to my clipboard. Why and how can I correct this?

When I receive a jpg (not a jpeg) from a mac via email it wont open in either outlook or picture viewer etc (win xp). But if the same image is sent to any other PC (from the ma user) it opens OK.The added twist. If another pc user opens (which it does with no issues) then closes and sends back to the failing pc it opens with no issues!
I was just wondering if anyone else noticed this. I notice this everytime I minimize a window. When my MBP is plugged to the wall, and I minimize a window, the animation is very smooth, but when it is unplugged, just using the battery power, it is still smooth, but not as smooth.
