I was browsing the net for a bit of info and I clicked on a link - all above board I am just searching for info on an old friend.a small window appeared from a site called antivirus.net (or something like that) saying I was in need of software or a scan or something. I clicked CANCEL and found myself on a site "mg7a.info" that looked like a Windows desktop with a scan running (this listed in my history as "my computer online scan").
I'm looking for a way (preferably a widget) to list all computers on the LAN (Mac and PC). What I would like to get is a list with both the IP address and the name of all connected computers. Sounds simple but google didn't find it for me yet. Probably didn't feed it the right question yet. Maybe one of you knows or uses such a utility/widget? Now checking nmap (which apparently used to have a widget frontend named sunemo)
I set up the icloud on to my computers, now I cannot connect my iphone to my computers, I get a err message saying it is drawing to much power from my computers, whats up?I didn't have this problem before and it is on both my imac and my macbook.
I have installed printer drivers for my Brother printer and I can print ok but for some reason the printer will not connect to my iMac to scan. Never had this problem with my PC.
I was on stumble upon site for the past few days.(everything has been clean in my stumbles) today, I was reading an article and all of the sudden my mac went int virus scan mode. However, it was the virus scan mode for a PC, complete with all the PC icons and even box. I clicked out of it, because I didn't want to chance opening anything bad. I did some research, and everything I found said there shouldn't be any viruses for macs. I just want to be extra safe, is there anything I can do to check for viruses?
Did a ClamXav scan just now and came up with three detections. All three were classified as ISHING.HEURISTICS.EMAIL.SPOOFEDDOMAIN". I deleted the files immediately.
My computer seems okay, but it has been a little off lately. I don't think anything is wrong, but to be safe, I want to see if i have a virus. Also, it may be a good idea to scan my computer for virus' every once and a while.
Has anyone successfully set up scan to smb to mac os 10.7.x from a Konica Minolta bizhub. I'm using 10.7.3 on MacBook Pro. Don't care what model bizhub is being used as I have access to many. I've seen the posts for FTP workarounds but want to use SMB if that is an option.
There was a new treat for malware out there called alurdon dns changer and supposily cause internet blackout on Monday. Any one aware of this is it a PC treat, should I be concerned? How do I scan my computer for any malware that I could have and not be aware of?
I have 13" MacBookPro running 10.6.1 with 4 G Ram. My HP Photosmart C4500 All-In-One will print but will not scan. I have unplugged the USB cable and uninstalled and reinstalled the driver to no avail. I have tried to scan from both the unit itself and the scan software on my laptop. I get messages like "an unknown error occurred, or "can't find scanner". When you look in the 4500s window it appears to be scanning but nothing happens. Any ideas? It seems to have stumped HP help so far!
I just bought a new Canon LiDE 600F flatbed scanner and have set it up and installed the driver disc. I want to be able to import documents and photos directly from the scanner into Photoshop CS, however when I select "File>Import>CanoScan LiDE 600F...", instead of taking me to the default Photoshop scanner preview window it opens up the crappy "ScanGear" from-the-disc software, which I don't want.
I just watched Tekzilla this week and saw how they posted hacks/fixes for people having their computer connected to HDTV. I know how to fix this in Windows but not sure how I can fix this in Apple. Hope someone has a similar fix. I currently have a Sharp 26in 1080i.
Disturbed to see the result of a macscan, 17 tracking cookies on my machine. Are these tracking cookies dangerous, what are they doing there anyway and who put them there. Finally should I be considering installing an antivirus and if so what. I always thought macs were immune to invasions, or are the time a changing.
I simply plugged in my HP C4180 All in One after starting up my MAC. It was installed in seconds. I can printer without a problem. My problem is the scan feature. When calling up scan from the actual printer, it does NOT give an option to scan to a file. I have no installation disk for MAC so I'm at a stand still.
is there a way to run Drive Genius on Mac Air? The MA is getting slower by the day and I saw the same symptoms right before my iMac's HDD crashed. I want to run a HDD scan but Drive Genius requires that I scan a non boot drive. Since Target mode is not an option, I am out of ideas.
