OS X V10.7 Lion :: Preview - Include Networked Devices By Default For Scan Function?
Feb 20, 2012I frequently use Preview to scan documents using a networked HP scanner.
Every time I launch preview to perform some scanning, I find that I must select File->Import from Scanner->Include Networked Devices.
I find this mildly annoying. Is there a way that I can get Preview to include networked scanning devices by default?

Sep 2, 2009i just deleted a file and wanted to use the new glorious "put back" function in SL that moves a trashed file back to it's place.However neither by right-clicking on the file in the trash nor in the file menu there is a "put back" option.Where is it?Edit: Ok i find this very strange. On this particular file there was no "put back" but when i do on another folder/ file there is. WTF?

Feb 13, 2009I just installed Safari 3.2.1 and find that I have no operable Back- Forward browse feature.
The buttons are there but always grayed out as if no previous page existed. Too, when I right click on a web page I no longer get "back" as a default. It comes up "reload" no matter where on the page I click. Finally, when I view History the only link displayed is the page that I am on. To get to a previous page I must select "Earlier Today". I DO NOT have Private Viewing selected.
What gives? This is a primary feature. lacking it makes it very difficult to use the browser.
MacBook Air :: HDD Scan On Mac Air - IMac's HDD Crashed?
Jan 4, 2010is there a way to run Drive Genius on Mac Air? The MA is getting slower by the day and I saw the same symptoms right before my iMac's HDD crashed. I want to run a HDD scan but Drive Genius requires that I scan a non boot drive. Since Target mode is not an option, I am out of ideas.

IMac :: Automatic Sleep And Wake Up Function Does Not Work
Jan 21, 2009I'm experiencing very annoying sleep/wakeup problems with Mid 2007 iMac. I think it started after 10.5.6 update.
1. iMac does not go to sleep according to the Energy saving settings, this was actually from the day one. It goes to screen saver, display sleep, but not complete sleep.
2. Since automatic sleeping does not work, I put it to sleep manually by pressing Power button. but in this case it sleeps so deep, that it does not wakeup. The only way to bring it back is to hold the Power button to complete OFF and then power back UP.
I tried, PRAM and permissions tricks, nothing seem to help.

IMac PPC :: G4 800 FP 15" Combo Drive No Ejection Function
Jun 17, 2012Just picked up this iMac, and it was freshly loaded with Mac OS X 10.2.3. Boots up just fine, gets to desktop normally.
However, I can't use the Apple keyboard to eject the combo drive that is empty (no CD inside). The Eject menu is greyed out, and even when I drag the Eject icon to the window for favourites, it is greyed out, so I can't eject the drive.
However, when it boots up , if I hold down the mouse button, it does eject the drive.

Now my volume controls and other features on the F1 - F12 Keys do not work.Went into Keyboard Preferences and selected and deselected the [ ] Use All F1, F2, F3 keys as standard function keys. Regardless of the setting, the volume controls do not work. Even when holding down the [Fn] Key. I can adjust volume with the mouse ( new Magic Mouse ) using the control on the menu bar.

Jul 1, 2014Using OSX 10.9.3 on my iMac. Processor 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5, Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3. Fairly new iMac, 21.5 inch, Late 2013. Just now, my right click function on my mouse does not work. I have checked my System Preferences and the right click is checked under secondary click. I did uncheck it, exit System Preferences, and then come in again and re-checked it, but that did no good.
I did restart my computer last night before I quit for the day because recently I uninstalled Sophos Anti-Virus because it seemed to be caught in a loop that was not finished "cleaning up" but that is only change I have made. Aside from the Sophos acting wonky there were no other issues with the machine last night.
The right click does not work in all programs, not just Finder. How can I get my right click function to work again?

Aug 4, 2010I bought a 21.5 i3 iMac a couple days ago. I was wondering if it was normal for the computer to be hot to touch on the back. The top back on the iMac is insanely hot too touch. I also just installed windows 7 and I noticed after I ejected the CD it was super super super hot as well. Is this all normal for iMacs? Thanks for your help!
