i did the last update 2 days ago with the whole removing older versions of flash and what not, now my whole internet looks different and i cant sign into latest version of yahoo home page for my mail or anything

Ok, my once a week auto Mac auto update just finished and now my itunes 10.6 will start then crash as soon as it opens. Error report as follows

I have tried restarting the machine and no dice. I thought of reinstalling itunes from apples site but each time I go there its says congrats on downloading it but will not download a single thing. On the problems downloading its only gives me answers to PC problems.
Do I really have to completely reinstall from my iMac install discs just to get itunes back ? I dont use time machine as I have a 1T hardrive in my imac and use most of it for itunes, even I cant afford a 1T stand alone hard drive just for backups.

I recently updated my Server running 10.7.0 to version 10.7.3 and single-sign-on no longer works for my users. The 10.7.3 Lion Server System is bound to our Active Directory Server running on Win2003 R2 Server. I tried un-binding and rebinding the system but.. no luck. When a user now tries to login to our shares via AFP with SSO credentials they recieve the message
I can run the id command from terminal on the OS X server and it is seeing AD users. Unfortunately, no one can log into the server shares via AFP with an AD user.

Since I updated to 10.5.7 Yahoo IM crashes after a minute of being open. Is anyone else having this issue? I uninstalled it and deleted all associated files and reinstalled, but same issues continue.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have the app store icon in my dock indicating that an app has an update. I click the app in the the update section and another window appears telling me I have updates for other accounts and that I need to sign into that accound to update applications for that account. The email address for that account is unknown to me. I am not aware of anyone having hacked my account, but it is in the back of my mind naturally that this has occurred. I have changed password on my account so far. I cannot delete the update from the app store even though I have deleted the iphone app from my itunes list.

The latest software update notice I received informed me the following new software was available:
* Performance Update (version 1.0)
* iMovie Update (version 8.0.5)
I told it to install the updates, after which the computer had to be restarted. Upon restart the computer seems to be restarting normally, ie: the bell tolls and the Apple symbol shows above the spinning icon. But after what seems like a very long time a "no symbol" aka "prohibition sign" takes the place of the Apple logo, and the spinning icon remains. Nothing else happens. Here's what I have done so far:
* I called expert case support and we tried a few things. The guy I talked to decided that I needed to use my snow leopard disk to use time machine to restore my system to the way it was before the software updates. He figured something must have been corrupted in the software update. I couldn't find my Snow Leopard disk so he emailed me instructions to follow when I finally found it.
* After finally finding the disk I followed his instructions and restored my system to an October 8th backup.
* Upon restart all was supposed to be well. That didn't happen. The same problem persists.
* Support is now closed, so here I am searching these discussion forums. One thread mentioned a similar problem and it was recommended that the person start in safe mode and repair disk permissions. Sure enough, my iMac starts in Safe Mode. I repaired disk permissions. Restarted the iMac. The same problem still exists.

I have my iCloud email, and gmail set up and there is never a glitch, why does my yahoo continue to pop up and ask me to reenter my password, i have erased and re entered the account twice now and it always happens, i even saved the password in the keychain, why does yahoo not work. it never has this problem on my iPhone.

As of last night, I found four messages that were stuck in my Sent box, with the spinning gear that would not stop. This only happens when using my Yahoo account, and it only happens when sent from my MPB. It is also only related to outbound messages.
Now for the part that has me perplexed. My password for Yahoo (web), is the same as the password on my MBP (Apple Mail). The passwords that I have on the iPhone and iPad, are the same for both, but they're different than the password for the previous two that I mentioned. When I changed the password on my MBP to match the one that's on my mobile devices, it came up with an error for an incorrect username or password.
How can I have different passwords and still have mail working? What am I missing? Also - more to the point of my issue, can anyone offer some suggestions as to why the outbound side of Apple Mail, is not working for Yahoo?

It appears that I'm unable to sign-in to the App Store. The place is well found under the apple sign and in the dashboard and both respond well to all demands except for the 'sign-in'. None of my other 5 Apple computers render this problem. The actual computer is a MacPro4,1, Quad-Core Intel xeon, 16 Gb Memory and Boot ROM version MP41.0081.808. I need to delete ALL settings in Mail...
I have an issue where I can receive mail but cannot send mail to any yahoo account on this Macbook Pro.
My other devices (other macs) work just fine.
This particular Mac - gets a 554 Error (229) under my user when I send mail to Yahoo. But under Guest, it works just fine.
I've deleted my account (gmail) and reinstalled it - but the error keeps coming back.
There must be some setting cached somewhere that reverts the settings back.
