View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an early 2011 MacBook Pro running OS Lion (10.7.3) and in the last two weeks I face the following problem with the Mail application and my Yahoo mail account: although the account appears in the side bar of the application and it will search for new messages when I launch the Mail app, it doesn't load any messages and I also realised that all Mailboxes of the named account are blank! The messages appear normally when I reach my account through the Yahoo page! I tried to remove and re-import the account in the Mail app, but it just worked for two days and now the Mailboxes are blank again! I have no problems with the other two mail accounts I reach through the same application (both POP accounts).

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a new iMac with Snow Leopard and do not have the following problem with my MBP using Leopard nor have I been able to duplicate this problem on new iMacs at the Apple Store.
Normally on other computers, the Yahoo Mail email header is at the top of the screen, the view pane is at the bottom of the screen and when I double click the email header, the entire email fills the screen in a new tab.
On this new iMac, double clicking the header does nothing; the email stays split on the screen with the header at the top and view pane at the bottom and no new tab.
I've tried Safari, Firefox, and Chrome and the problem is unique to this iMac. Any suggestions? Is there a preference that I'm missing?
Since Yahoo now wants us to pay for their PLUS, is there any way around this to get yahoo mail to work for send and receive?
I tried the methods that I found on here by removing the plus, but nothing worked.
Since upgrading to Snow Leopard, I cannot add an attachment to email using Yahoo mail. Every time I select the file, Yahoo mail begins scanning and it then crashes the browser - happens with any browser and any file.
Searching around suggests there are similar problems for some users but not as pervasive.
it appears that my AT&T Yahoo! mail account uses IMAP to push mail messages to my iPhone. However, every time I try and set up the AT&T Yahoo! mail account in the OS X Mail.app program, it sets it up as a POP account. Can I not have that set up as an IMAP account in Mail.app too!? If not, why?

MacBook Air, Just got it yesterday.
I just got a new MacBook Air and I went to set up my Mail just as I had on my old Mac Mini. I have a Yahoo account that I have paid for the Plus! features. I should be able to just have it automatically find the settings and then I should just be able to get email, right? Wrong. I thought maybe it was because I was also getting the mail popped onto my Blackberry but even when I turn it off, I still can't get a single Yahoo email. I've had this email address forever and don't want to change, and don't want to have to forward messages.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there anyway for me to get pop3 access to my Yahoo account without the need to pay for the yahoo plus service? I would preferably like a free solution as I only use my Yahoo account for personal use.
I am currently using Mac OS X and would like to set this feature up on the Mail app, however, if possible, would also like to set up on my Windows machine.
I have found a program called YPOPS, but cannot find a mac version downlaod. Also, i have read on a website that I am unable to send email using this software as it does not support SMTP ....
If there is a way to link my yahoo mail acc to my MAC OS mail, so that I can use the mail fuction. I use to be able to sync but after reformatting my com I am unable to do so. While trying to connect, an mes pop out said, you got to pay a fee to yahoo to get pop3 service.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSince apparently you have to be an upgraded member on Yahoo mail to be able to sync OS-X' Mail app with it, what would be the best alternative that would allow a non-upgraded Yahoo mail user use it?
View 17 Replies View RelatedI'm a little confused about how the 'Mail' app on my MBP works with my yahoo account. I thought I had set it up properly; emails appear in my 'Mail' inbox but I am unable to send anything - every time I try, the app requests me to enter my yahoo username and password. I do but it tells me they are incorrect. If the details are incorrect why do they work when I log in to yahoo with a browser? I read somewhere that you have to have a payed for yahoo account to get proper access to it's service. If this is the case it sure isn't obvious, unless I have just been looking in all the wrong places. I am also having trouble importing my yahoo contacts to the mac Address Book app.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just received my Macbook Pro 2 days ago, I updated everything that needed to be updated. Now, I got a Yahoo! Mail Plus just so I can sync it onto mail, although I found out you can't sync folders which sucks, but whatever. My problems is the following: If I read my emails on my iphone, or even a regular pc using firefox or something, when I go into mail on my mac, all those messages still show as unread. And messages that I have deleted are appearing again.
