View 2 RepliesI have been using Safari for a few years now, and the only problem I have with it is that I have never been able to have more than one page open at a time. On any PC, I have been using internet explorer and can have, for instance, an internet radio station playing as welll as being able to surf other pages without losing the radio station. On Safari, as soon as I have the radio station playing, if I then want to look at other pages, the radio station web-page has automatically switched itself off. I am sure it is just something to do with the settings, but I don't seem able to fathom out what settings I need to change.

When I start up Safari it opens 2-3 pages of previously viewed sites. I just started using Lion 10.7.3 on a new 17" iMac. This never happened before on Snow Leopard.

I have multiple screens on my Mac Pro. A normal screen, a projector and a USB-to-DVI converter. When I log in the login screen appears on either the projector or the converter screens. Not on the normal screen. I need to drag the cables out for the login to enter on the normal screen. The normal screen is set to the primary screen so thats not the problem.

Since downloading version 5.1.7, when I click on the red button to close a window, it closes instantly -- even when the window contains numerous open tabs. The prior version always gave me a "Do you really want to close this window? You have X open tabs." message, which I'd like to restore. I looked in Preferences to no avail.

I would like to know how I can get one single info screen from the files I have selected. For example I have been working on my music files lately and I often want to get information about the size of the selected music files or music folders. But when I select them I don't get one screen telling me how big the selected files all together are, but a screen will open for every single file or folder. So you need to calculate it by yourself in order to get the total sum. Is there a way to avoid this? Then another thing: I can't find a function for closing all the open screens at once. Is there a way how I could close them all at once, because now I need to close them all separately. Like a couple of days ago I accidentally opened something which contains like 100 folders or more even. When I found it out, I couldn't stop it anymore and all the screens started to open. I had to close all the more than 100 screens one by one.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIn Snow Leopard: I open a Finder window in column view that has a long list of content, scroll down to the bottom of the column and delete a file/folder. The file/folder disappears but the rest of the window content is unchanged. IE: if my view showed me R S T U V and I delete T, my view would be R S U V. Â In Lion, I do exactly the same thing and the Finder jumps to the top of the column. IE: When I delete T, my window jumps to A B C D E instead of staying focused on R S U V.I've got a new Mac Mini with the 2.7 Ghz i7 upgrade... but otherwise stock. Currently running 10.7.4.

Lion keeps dafaulting to the Column view which I find useless and annoying. I cannot find any preference setting to default to the more functional List view.

This is the scenario...Â
1) Safari's window is running on Desktop A.
2) There is another Desktop B.Â
How do I start another Safari window on Desktop B?When I go to Desktop B and start another Safari window, it is opened on the Desktop A. I know I can move it then to Desktop B but that is an extra step.
I am getting multiple (dozens and dozens) of screens when I try to open Safari -- to the point that it's unusable.

Is there (or will there ever be) any way to change the white default color of finder windows in column and list views? Or is there a 3rd party app? You can change them in icon view but that's the only view I never use. My eyes get so tired staring at white all day. If I could make all my windows dark grey I could work longer, better, happier. Would also love to make the Mail app dark.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI turned file-vault on in Mac OSX Lion 10.7.3 and now I am presented with log-in screens 2 times whenever I reboot my mac. First log-in screen comes immediately, is a light gray screen with filevault-enabled users, so I enter my password there and after some time I am presented with a second normal log-in screen, dark gray with all users. After entering my password in this second login screen, I am able to use my mac. Â
I am wondering if this 2 log-in screens is the normal behavior after turning on the filevault 2 on in Mac OSX Lion?

After upgrading to Lion I see a check box at shutdown to refrain from opening web pages currently open in Safari. I did that, unchecked it, but they still open. How odd they would make this a opt out scenario - is there a way to make this permanent? I liked the old way where you could go into History and do it during a new session.

Ever since upgrading to Lion, when I log into LogMeIn each computer I log into opens a new window. I have set the Safari prefs to open new windows as tabs, and it works for everything except LogMeIn. They claim it's a Lion issue. It also does this on Firefox.

I am having problems with all of my browsers opening random websites. All was working fine until one day Safari simply refused to open a few random sites. I thought it was a provider glitch, but they said it's not and besides I have no trouble opening those same sites on my iPad and even from my Bootcamp Windows 7 system. I have no idea what is causing it, some sites simply won't open without any explanation. The browser just keeps loading and loading and loading, but no effect. To make matters even more confusing, it even won't load some images in the mail. The system is up to date. The problem is the same in Safari, Chrome, Opera and Firefox with same web pages. Â
