On my macbook pro, when I'm on my home screen I can use my tracking pad to flip my screen to a screen that displays all of my widgets. Is it possible to flip to a third display screen to place documents on?

A normal screen, a projector and a USB-to-DVI converter.When I log in the login screen appears on either the projector or the converter screens. Not on the normal screen. I need to drag the cables out for the login to enter on the normal screen. The normal screen is set to the primary screen so thats not the problem.

I have a new 17" macbook pro (glossy screen) and 24" Apple LED Cinema Display, and I'm trying to calibrate each monitor. I'm currently running the Monaco Optix XR and can create some very good looking profiles, each to his own. But, I can not get the monitors close enough in color temperature when they are side by side. The 24" is slightly warmer than the macbook pro display.
I was considering picking up a Pantone Huey pro since my calibrator is so old, but I've been reading about a lot of problems with those on 10.6.
Has anyone had any luck calibrating these two new monitors with identical (or as close as humanly possible) color and temperature?
there are claims that a uMB with screen 9CA5 is as good as the MBA, Anyone have both to do a side by side.
The screen was the one reason I went with the MBA.
I am connecting a Canon 5D to my laptop trying to use it as a webcam trough camtwist.At the same time I need to output the streaming to a videoprojector.The cam is connected to the mini display port do there is no port available for the VGA cable anymore. Do I need to use a different port for the projector? Should I buy a video card?Can't connect the camera via USB as that is too slow and it will freeze.

Me and my future wife both like to play WoW. I know you can open multiple instances of WoW with separate accounts, but what I need to know is can I set up my dual monitor setup to act as if it is two separate computers with 2 keyboards and 2 mice so we can play together without having to purchase a whole second computer? I'm willing to buy another GFX card if I have to along with the second mouse and keyboard since that would still be cheaper then buying another computer.

What is the Difference between an lcd screen for a Macbook pro 15 A1150 and an A1226? I need to know if I have to buy a A1150 LCD replacement or will any macbook pro 15.4 screen work as long as it is a TFT LCD 1440 by 900. I know the LED screens won't work. The A1226 screens seem more common and easier to find. My model of Macbook is a A1150/MA464LL/A 2.0GHZ.

my friend has a macbook and the screen is cracked. Apple wants $800 to fix, so its not worth that route (its a older macbook). View 24 Replies View RelatedSo I bought my MacBook a year ago and I just bought cords for my laptop to my TV. I bought a Mini DisplayPort to DVI cord than an Xtreme HD cord thats DVI to HDMI. For some reason however I can't get the sound to play off of my TV no matter what, it only plays on my laptop and I was told it would be able to just fine, however for me thats not the case. Second when I link the two screens up together my TV will just have the Background no icon's or anything just the plain simple background. Once I click "Mirror Screens" then my laptop screen is completely small for me and my TV one is just fine, but when I open applications b/c my laptop screen is so small like the "Play" button for movies is nearly impossible to hit because its right behind the dock.
So my questions are: How do I get sound out of my Mini DisplayPort to DVI & DVI to HDMI cord instead of buying an audio cord from laptop to TV.
How can I mirror screens correctly to keep the same size on my laptop screen for when I open things they aren't smushed or hard to play.
what the safest method for cleaning the anti-glare screens is on the unibodies. On my glossy a simple damp lint-free cloth works perfectly, but I have a feeling that over time that method of cleaning may actually rub/ruin the antiglare surface, so I'm a bit worried.

What I want to do is use the Macbook for other uses and have the sound comming through the macbook, wilst not affecting the sound from the movie being played through the HDMI out put. Currently in the settings for sound outup, all audio will either go through one of the options. How do I split the sound output per program.

It seems to work great until he streams media or connects to his school email. Â
I've taken a picture of what the screen looks like when it last froze while he checked his email:Â
Shortly after this, he had trouble booting the macbook back up. He would see either a blue screen with light and dark blue vertical lines. He would also boot up the computer and it would be stuck on the white loading screen without the apple logo.Â
