What is the significance of the purple and green colours when I put music to my project? I am able to edit the "green" music but NOT the purple music. Is it possible to do panarama/photomerge in iPhoto?

I have a shared HP F2230 all-in-one attached to my mac running leopard 10.5.5. I have been printing regular MS Word black and white documents fine from my other Windoze vista / 7 Beta computers. Tried to print a colored photo but the colors are inaccurate and all the blacks turn into purple! This happens regardless of the application in windows (Paint, MS publisher, and even printer test page!) I tried to print the same photo in the mac and had no problem. I attached a photo of the print out from my windows 7 beta machine.
Tried to reinstall drivers, restart printer, restart mac, but it didn't work.
I have the 9C9E display. Is this a good one? Also, the colors on MacRumors look purple, where on my moms 2.4 Macbook they looked blue. Especially the thread links. What do I do?

View 6 Replies View Related1. Today, I turned on my MacBook running 10.5.7 bought in the Summer of 2006 and the colors were washed out/faded. They were noticeably more bluish-purple. This is the third time it happened over the past year, so it is incredibly hard to replicate for a genius. A restart fixed the issue. I did not mess with the color schemes (I actually don't even know how to use them), nor have I dropped my laptop in the past three years I have owned it. Anyone know what is the issue here? I'm pretty sure it's hardware-related. I am concerned because my AppleCare is expiring this coming September, and I don't know how to replicate the problem.
2. Also, after a good period of nonuse, one-fourth of my screen (the lower left corner) is noticeably "darker" after I turn it on. The area goes back to its correct brightness after 10-15 minutes, like the screen has to warm up first. I've had this problem since I first purchased the unit but this dark spot has definitely gotten bigger. Is this normal for a laptop?
3. Coconut battery says that I have only gone through 4 battery cycles. I've calibrated the battery and the program still says the same thing. The battery I replaced quite a while ago did not have this problem.
So I have this collection of pixels near the bottom of my screen but they're only visible over a dark grey area, like when you're in the login screen (I have an early 2013 MBPr 15 btw)Â
It's probably a problem with the screen itself and not the GPU (or maybe the connection between them?) since if I take a screenshot it's not visible and I've connected it to an external monitor and it doesn't have it.Â

I've had this for a few weeks now and I've tried those youtube videos (I just to have some image retention after leaving something to run for a long time) which have decreased the amount of pixels. They all dissapeared for a few hours and now they're back.
while surfing the internet (I was reading an article on CNN and scrolling down to continue reading), the screen color changed to tinges of green and purple. The entire thing froze...no keys, no mouse, not even force quit...nothing. I had no choice but to do a hard shut down by holding down the power button until the laptop just shut off (Macbook Pro). In the middle of rebooting, (at the grey screen with the apple logo on it, I got the familiar circular dial that ticks around as it loads) a screen wipe similar to the effect of some screen savers went from the top of the screen to the bottom turning the screen from grey into green and purple vertical stripes.
It also said "you need to restart your computer" and proceeded to tell me how to do so in four different languages. Upon doing so, the same thing happened...several times. I tried booting it into safe mode by holding down the shift key until the grey apple background appeared and it seemed to be working as the loading was taking forever. Alas, the same thing happened. I took the battery out and held down the power button for 10 seconds, put the battery back in only to suffer the same effect. The next genius bar reservation isn't until Friday.
I have a first generation macbook pro, recently i have been getting neon green and purple blotches appearing on my screen. I was also having a hard drive problem so i swapped that out and installed a fresh copy of OSX 10.4 on there and was still having the green and purple show up so I know that it is hardware related. I also have hooked up an external monitor and they show up on that monitor too so I konw the problem is not related to my monitor.. I downloaded fan control and have found that if I keep my macbook under 53 degrees C then They wont show up nearly as often but they still do. The only problem with this is that to keep it under 53 degrees C then I need to have the fans running extremely fast the entire time which is not really solving the problem...any suggestions?
It kinda looks to me like I need to get the logic board replaced, what does that entail.. can I do it myself? im pretty good with computers and electronics. I don't have apple care and the warrenty has definelty been voided or is expired..what kind of $$ am I looking at?
Suddenly yesterday when I powered mi iMac I had some horizontal green bars on the startup screen then it powered normally. But it happened two times, now every time I power on my iMac the screen stay black, and i can use my computer, everything else is working normally (i still can use Alfred to turn off my computer).Â
I already tried resetting the Command+Option+P+R, it didn't work. Also the Safe mode.Â
I have a mid-2011 27' iMac. EMC 2429.
My tibook .867Ghz was working fine this morning, but now when I restarted it this afternoon, the colors are all off (lots of green and rapidly vibrating pixels in background). The computer works, I can run programs and so forth. There are no changes to the displays settings, still 1280x854 and colors "millions". When I switch to thousand or 256 colors there is no significant change.

I edited two different pieces of chroma key to composite. I had many pieces of video and edited them togeth and exported them to a file then reimported it into an iMovie event. I did the same with the background and combined them together. I did this once before and no trouble.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI upgraded to imovie 08 last year and have not been able to learn how to use it. As I still have imovie hd, I opened a new project in the old imovie hd and imported some photos and movies (.mov) files. When the movies and photos came in, each thumbnail is shaded in green. I cannot see through this green shading to the photos or movies at all. Even when I click on the thumbnail of either a photo or movie it just comes up as a large green square, however when I 'play' the movie file from the clip viewer I can see the contents of the movie. As soon as I stop playing it, the clip goes back to having the green shading over the top. Have you heard of this before and is there anything I can try to fix it. I have looked in the forum but cannot see anything specific to this problem
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I recently picked up my new iMac at the Apple Store, during the supervised set up, they had me sign up for iCloud even though I have no IOS devices to sync to. I checked off iCal Contacts, and Bookmarks. I did not realize at the time the significance of doing so. Since I have no other device to sync to and have a constantly updating clone of my system iCloud is useless to me. However I have been reading that if i switch iCloud off all of my data (contact ICal and Bookmarks) will be removed from my mac. If this is the case how can I turn off iCloud off and get this data on my mac?

I started playing around with indev's MailTags. The default tags are preceded with the "@" symbol. I've seen this done in other tagging systems but I'm not sure what its significance is, though I seem to remember it may have something to do with spotlight. Any idea why this is done?

I have been trying to add music to a movie in iMovie. However, when I click the music button, it just presses and releases, and no music list appears. It used to, but now it doesn't. So no way to add music.
Also, after doing the most basic things, such as creating one slide with just text, iMovie decides to crash, and the spinning colour wheel appears.
Both of these issues have only recently started happening. It is running on the latest 2.4GHz iMac with 3GB RAM, and only safari and messenger running in the background. It is very annoying, and I don't know how to resolve it.
Everything is now gray in the menu when I open up my mac home drive in os 10.7. Why? Why change a good thing? Now when I glance over at the menu of 'Favorites', 'Shared' and 'Devices', all the icons a gray and it doesn't help when finding specific drives and folders, especially when adding attachments to email. They used to be easy to discern with different colors. There is nothing in "view options" to change these to colors, and I have found nothing in System Preferences to change them.Â

I would like to create a slide show video in iMovie to upload to youtube using a piece of music (non copyright natch, *cough*). As I only have a few images to use I'd like to be able to just simply repeat the images until the track stops.Being not terribly Mac/technically minded I'm having problems. The silde show should work around the complete piece of music but I can't seem to do it.

I am using a new CANON MX882. When I print using the Canon easy photo software the print turn out perfect. However when I print from Aperture or Photoshop Elements the pictures turn out with the colors blown out and overexposed. I have the lates drivers availabe from Canon which they say is compatible works with 10.7. I have tried using the printer manament or the software and it doesn't make any difference.

I've made a slideshow (about 24 mins) in iMovie and 'shared' it onto my desktop. I've tried to burn it to dvd (+R) lots of different ways but all failed. I have iDVD on my MAC and am using Mavericks. I'm putting it down to 'pilot error' or possibly my age!
