View 1 RepliesI'm a bit concerned that I'm missing e-mails as sometimes it said it is downloading 6 messages for example and only 3 seem to appear.I don't have a junk e-mail folder to check. I have bulk e-mail which are kind of junk, but do any go anywhere else? Someone said on another discussion go to mail - preferences - enable junk mail filtering. This says that I have junk mail filtering. But when I tried to tick it to move to a junk mail folder it said 'Depending on how you have set your Mailbox Behaviors preferences in the Accounts pane of Mail Preferences, messages in the Junk mailbox might be deleted automatically.' When I look at this option the 'store junk mail on the server' option is unchecked. Does this mean that some messages are being deleted and not stored. I do get some messages which mail tells me it has designated as junk and asks me to confirm.Â

I have a new mailbox folder that has added itself to my Mac Mail. It does not exist on my server, only in Mac Mail and on my iPhone. I've attempted to delete it manually both while in Mac Mail and through the system library (~/Library/Mail/SmartMailboxes.plist) as I was told it could be a corrupted file. I have Mac-keeper but it is showing no viruses. How can I delete this thing?

My wife and I are anticipating the birth of our first child in about two weeks, and we'd planned on sending out birth announcements via email instead of snail mail. As of now, we've got about 150 friends and family members that we'd like to send our birth announcement email to...
I wanted to know how I can do this without running into any issues, because I know that most email applications (on both the sending and receiving ends) will not allow you to send and won't accept emails where 150 people are CC'd (protection against spamming).
I know of several bulk email programs (such as the one's that can be found on versiontracker here), but I wasn't sure if I would be able to use the built-in templates provided by Apple Mail??
Anyone have any ideas as to how I can set things up ahead of time so that once our baby is born, sending out the announcement (USING THE APPLE MAIL TEMPLATE) will be a simple matter of clicking a button or two?
In Gmail, I cannot permanently delete Sent mail, it just comes back.

I have a folder under my Gmail account marked "All Mail" which currently has over 10,000 messages that I would like to delete. I am using the Apple email program. I am able to delete them only to have them return when I reboot my computer. I am concerned that these ever growing messsages will slow down my computer. I have worked with my internet provider, Apple tech, and gmail and no one seems to have an answer. They do not show up with I access my gmail account through the web.Â

For the last week I find that after sending an email with attachments that it remains in my draft box after sending. The mail shows up in the sent box, but it never get's deleted from the draft box until I resend it. This is happening on both my MBP and iMac. Both machines connect to iCloud for mail.

How can one delete emails from the "all mail" folder? It seems that every single e-mail is stored in that folder perhaps forever?? I am fairly new to the Mac World. I like to keep my mail folders clean but find that by now I have well over 7000 emails stored in tat "all mail" folder. I can delete those mails "temporarily" but they come back after powering up again.

In Mail, is there a way to print the list of mail activity in a folder without actually printing each email?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter deleting a message the already read message above becomes selected instead of the unread message below. How do I change this? I have changed the sort by field to assending and decending. I looked at my husbands mail and it does not do this. I do not see any preference options to fix it.To recap, I want to start at the top of my new messages and if I want to keep a message I will go to the next unread one and delete that one without the one I want to keep becomeing the targeted message

When using Mail (and on iPad and iPhone) , mail is not really getting deleted.I can check it on one device and delete it but it always continues to show up on the other devices until I delete it on that device.I end up having to delete everything 3 times. (yes, they are all set to delete from server) Â This is POP on both Comcast.net and local ISP.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have emptied the Trash and set preferences for all my email accounts so that emails are permanently erased on quitting Mail.I also selected Rebuild from the Mailbox pull-down menu. I bought an email archiving program called MailSteward. When I run it, it pulls in many thousands of emails that I have already deleted from Mail. This is no good at all!The programmer of MailSteward
(By the way, MailSteward does not go online to find emails: it just looks on my computer. Also, these supposedly deleted emails were sent to my mac.com account and my gmail account, so it's not .Mac or gmail that's the problem.)
When i use Outlook on my windows comp (or bootcmap partition) i can view my spam mail folder. Sometimes mail i want, end up in there, so its quite handy. Is there anyways i can activate this feature in Mac OSX mail? Or do i have to use entourage?

I'd like to encrypt my Mail folder in my Library. Is this possible? I'm not worried about other users on my mac, but if it is stolen, I'd like to know my emails cannot be accessed. I have TrueCrypt which I've used for files that I have created. It is quick and easy. But I'm not sure if this is compatible with an application like Mail which has a default file system. I've also hear that there may be issues later with mail if you try and search for emails once you've encrypted the folder.Â

View 1 Replies View RelatedI currently have an issue with Mail 5.2 in which mail I compose and send is placed in the drafts folder and not sent. I have spent hours on the phone with my ISP and have been unable to resolve the issue. ISP has told me all settings are correct. I can receive e-mail on the account I just can't seem to get it to send. Checked my router (Time Capsule) and all ports are fine. I am also running my own mail server on Lion Server. The Lion server account is IMAP and sends/recieves e-mail no problem. My ISP account is POP and uses no authentication.

I setup my macbook air 11" with a folder within the inbox in Apple mail. I set up a rule so that any email with a certain address [URL] went into that folder. However all my mail went into that folder for that particular email address.Â
Here this adds to my problem:Â
Having had issues I exchanged my 11" air for a 13" and apple moved everything across. The mail coming in from [URL] etc is still going into the folder but so is everything else for that mailbox - however when I go to preference > Rules there is only one listed called Apple (a default I think)Â
So how can I get my mail going back to the main inbox an then segregating the mail for the info@ into the networking folder? I am using Lion 10.7.4 13" air 1.8ghz intel core i7
