Mar 19, 2012My delete button is not working in mail. When I press delete it automatically change to undelete, and I can not delete any of my messages.

Feb 5, 2010I have an aluminum macbook running Snow Leopard. If you open mail, the main "delete" button is gone. When you pop open (double click) each email in its own window, there it is. But that is sooooo inconvenient when you have 100 emails to go though.

Aug 28, 2014I have a 3 TB hard drive which I'd previously partitioned into a 1 TB and a 2 TB partition. I've emptied and erased the 2 TB compartment, but when I go to the partition section on Disk Utility, and select that partition (now called Free Space) and select it, only the + button is alive, and the - button is greyed out.Â
How can I delete this entire partition?

I have dragged them into the order in which I want them, with the one I almost always use at the top and my college one (which I prefer only to use for college business) at the bottom. But quite often they — spontaneously, it seems — move around and put themselves into an order that I do not like, with the result that I accidentally send messages from the wrong e-mail address. Why do they do this, and how can I stop them and fix them in place?

I press details to enter my own but each time i do the name field is over-written with a previous owner or user of the mac.

Apr 21, 2012I've read some threads but none truly answer my question. I have learnt I need to create a rule in CLOUD as mail is sent to all devices from there and if I create the rule in MAIL on my desktop it does not solve the issue as it will still get sent to other devices, correct?Â
I want to create a rule for junk. Ever changing junk email addresses, content etc. Sometime mail recognies it and sometimes not. How can I set up a rule, filter, etc to delete these permamnently . Its hard when the sender address is ever changing, or the content is never the same. IE one day it is from weatherx@
next time w3ath3rx@, next vveatherx@..it is so annoying. Or the content like I saw this morning every single word had a 20 in front of it...

Apr 2, 2012After deleting a message the already read message above becomes selected instead of the unread message below. How do I change this? I have changed the sort by field to assending and decending. I looked at my husbands mail and it does not do this. I do not see any preference options to fix it.To recap, I want to start at the top of my new messages and if I want to keep a message I will go to the next unread one and delete that one without the one I want to keep becomeing the targeted message

Jun 20, 2012I have emptied the Trash and set preferences for all my email accounts so that emails are permanently erased on quitting Mail.I also selected Rebuild from the Mailbox pull-down menu. I bought an email archiving program called MailSteward. When I run it, it pulls in many thousands of emails that I have already deleted from Mail. This is no good at all!The programmer of MailSteward
(By the way, MailSteward does not go online to find emails: it just looks on my computer. Also, these supposedly deleted emails were sent to my mac.com account and my gmail account, so it's not .Mac or gmail that's the problem.)

Oct 7, 2001I have accidentally erased a BIG folder (a couple of gig's) where we kept the last months of our lab's data. I moved it to the trash and as it was too big to fit, i 'accepted' and away it was... when i realized what i did by error, i just left the mac on, and it's still on, untouched, waiting for some way to fix it up. it is running OS 9 point something if i'm not wrong. Maybe it's even OS X with the OS 9 face, i'll check it up 'tough.
