I have a new mailbox folder that has added itself to my Mac Mail. It does not exist on my server, only in Mac Mail and on my iPhone. I've attempted to delete it manually both while in Mac Mail and through the system library (~/Library/Mail/SmartMailboxes.plist) as I was told it could be a corrupted file. I have Mac-keeper but it is showing no viruses. How can I delete this thing?

I have a folder under my Gmail account marked "All Mail" which currently has over 10,000 messages that I would like to delete. I am using the Apple email program. I am able to delete them only to have them return when I reboot my computer. I am concerned that these ever growing messsages will slow down my computer. I have worked with my internet provider, Apple tech, and gmail and no one seems to have an answer. They do not show up with I access my gmail account through the web.

I have tried go to Preferences-->Sidebar in Finder and deselect everything but the folder remains in my sidebar. I am unable to select/highlight the folder in Sidebar. I have tried to drag the folder into the trash or to my desktop, but nothing happened. I just remains in Sidebar. I'm running Snow Leopard, 10.6.8 on MacBook Pro.I have just started having this problem with my Apple Mail program recently. Some messages will delete just fine. Others will give me an error message that reads it couldn't be moved to Trash because, "The Operation could not be completed. File exists." See attached image. I have over 4,000 emails in my program, and would like to clear them out - but cannot because this error keeps popping up. My trash can is empty.

I have been using Mail for years with no problem but all of the sudden it will no longer delete emails. I have 3 email accounts gmail, comcast, icloud
When I delete an email it disapears - BUT - then it magically reappears in Mail.
When I delete emails they also do not go into the trash folders.
I am having to log on individually to all three email accounts and delete messages from their interface. Total waste of my time.
I have looked at the settings in preferences - behaviors and I have checked "Move deleted messages to the trash mailbox" I did not check "Store deleted messages" I selected permanently erase deleted messages when "one week old".

I have 2 folders on an external HD attached to my airport extreme that I cannot delete. When I try to delete them it says they are in use. They both look empty. I'm not familiar with terminal, but I've tried a few different commands I've found on these forums. I've tried sudo rm -rt and similar commands and they all say the directory is not empty. how to delete these folders will be very nice.
