I can't update software because a message appears that I have to log with the same Apple ID that was used to purchase them: iMovie, Garage Band, iPhoto, but those apps came with OSX Lion. How can I get the "original" Apple ID?

It has been almost one month since my MBP (mid 2010) getting a strange issue, that the Software Update always say NO UPDATES, even if there are many updates available. I guess this began since I updated my MBP to Mac OSX Lion Update 1.7.3 (Client Combo). FYI, the App Store can run (download new app or updates) without problem, and I can browse or send/receive mails without problem.Â

Our software update service is not downloading the 10.7.3 updates. I have updated the server to 10.7.3 but it made no difference. I have start/stopped the service a few times - it as downloaded a load of multilingual voices post date 7th Feb 2012 and the Security updates for Snow Leopard post date 2//2/2012 just not the 10.7.3 updates. Do Apple put a delay in the server to try to spread the demand on bandwidth?
Clients are updating fine from the server all other services working normally.

I can't get around this error:Â None of the selected updates could be saved. Software Update can't connect to the update server. Make sure you're connected to the Internet, and then try again. Connection reset by peer.

I recently purchased Lion and was excited to install from the app store. Purchased and it appears to be downloading but stops about 3/4 of the way through and I get an "NSPortTimeoutException" error. I tried downloading a simple free app and same situation. I ran disk utility and hard drive is fine. I had no issues with running software update until recently. I thought this may be the problem so I ran software update again. I gives details regarding several updates. When I attempt to install the updates, I immediately get a prompt to restart my computer. I run software update again and the same list of updates come up. The updates are not being downloaded or installed. My Internet connection is fast and reliable.Â

I'm running Lion Server 10.7.3. I have a number of 10.7.1 clients on my network that are directed to get their updates from the server. When I run software update from the clients, I get the response that no updates are available.

I was double checking software updates to see if the Java patch for the flashback virus and noticed it's not showing any Java updates. I tried several times and it just says that my software is up to date. Further, the security update history of my Mac was compared to Apple's update history and noticed that there have never been Java updates installed?

When I open my laptop occasionally it has obviously recognized updates and gives me the option to install, I click yes or ok can't remember. When I do it asks me to restart, which I do.When I restart it appears as if it never installed the updates?? When I go to system preferences and check to see installed updates it does not appear to be there?

I am running Lion Server 10.7.4, with Software Update Server running. My clients are all configured to hit that server as I have them pointed to it via a preference modification (I've also used Workgroup Manager with the same results). What's happening is this:
Client runs SW update locally, it goes to my server and either:
1. It finds no updates (although this is false). If I run same update to Apple's servers ot finds updates
or
2.It finds updates but not all of them. This is what's happening more of the time.
I can verify in the access logs on the server that clients are in fact hitting the server. Is there some sort of cache that needs to be cleared? I was reading something about an Apache issue, or perhaps DNS? I have tried both local IP address as well as name of server.

Ever since I upgraded to Lion my iMac freezes or nearly freezes for 5 - 10 minutes every hour while Time Machine updates the back up. What to do? I have tried everything I can think of but its only improved from total freeze while Time Machine backs up to freeze with an occasional few seconds of activity.Â

I desperately need to update my MacBook Air -- however - when I attempt to do so, the login window appears - and it has my OLD email account from YEARS ago, not the one associated with this computer. If I go to iTunes - the correct email address for my account appears. If I go into my settings - the email address is correct. I don't get it -- it's the right email address associated with this computer and my APPLE ID account - but when I try to perform my software updates - it has an OLD unused email account in the APPLE ID box, and it is NOT changeable -- you can't click on it or change it in any way.Â

I've been working on a FireWired External Drive and Software update installed some SnowLeopard/midi/audio updates on the external drive. I then restarted going into the Mother ship that also has SnowLeopard to bring that up to date.
When i checked for updates using the software update there is message that sezs :
"Failed to check for update. There was a problem communicating with the web proxy server (HTTP)."
I am on line posting this message so it can't be an Internet server problem on the Mother ship ( the main Macintosh hard drive ).
What does that message really mean and how do i fix that?

I need to update my itunes in order for it to recognize my iPhone as a device. To update my itunes I need the new OS X version. I click the apple icon on the upper left of my screen and click "software update." It searches for software updates, but it concludes that there are no updates available. Any clue why I can't update this Mac?Â

My computer keeps notifying me that updates available when they've already been installed and are listed as installed.Â
The Command Line Tools, for instance, are listed as installed a half dozen times or so, yet it's cosnattly being offered as an available update. The list of updates available for the computer keeps growing, but they're all installed. Update All or Update will run and go through the process, but the list never clears.Â
How do I get Updates to work properly and recognize what updates are already installed?

My daughter is planning to update her Leopard system to Snow Leopard. She will buy the disc and proceed with the install. Will she need to install each of the updates from 10.6 to 10.6.8 individually using software update?  Or can she simply use the combo updater? I installed each when it appeared, so am unsure as to what to tell her about doing it all at once.Â

downloaded the newsest updates from Apple and now my computer won't start up. Goes to long in screen and won't let you type in pass word. Spinning Beach Ball of Death comes up and never stops.
I just keep shutting it down ( push off button on the back until it shuts off) and trying to start it again. Some times it will let you get a little farther, but always after 2-3 minutes it goes to SBBOD.
Lates thing I did was push option+command+S when I turned it back on and now screen is black and has a bunch of code. Been at this stage for 30 minutes now. It is not pluged into the internet at the moment.
Info:
iMac, OS X but not sure what version.
