OS X Yosemite :: Repeated Update Available Notices For Installed Updates

My computer keeps notifying me that updates available when they've already been installed and are listed as installed.
The Command Line Tools, for instance, are listed as installed a half dozen times or so, yet it's cosnattly being offered as an available update. The list of updates available for the computer keeps growing, but they're all installed. Update All or Update will run and go through the process, but the list never clears.
How do I get Updates to work properly and recognize what updates are already installed?

When I install an update via Software Update, the installation appears in System Preferences/Software Update/Installed Updates, but then permanently disappears after a period of time. Same issue in Software Update.log.Is this normal?

I successfully installed OS 10.10.1 on my IMac (and it shows as being installed) however there is another line item that shows an available update for 10.10.1...how to get rid of the available update ... that is already installed?

My OS software updater continual requests that I install HP Printer Sofware Update 2.9. I install it and there is no warning of failure. The next time the updater checks it reports the software needs to be installed. How can I correct this problem?

I have a MBP1,1 completely updated and OS 10.6.4 is now experiencing repeated hanging sessions where the beach ball shows up for 20 seconds at a time. I tried repairing the disk and repairing permissions, both with the disc upon startup and just running OS X normally. However, each time I repair, the same 3 files are always fixed and a 4th file that was not being able to be repaired at all. I don't think it's RAM problem because Windows runs smoothly, but this issue is frustrating. Should I just reinstall OS X.

I have a MacBook with OS X 10.5 and I was looking at some of the updates I had installed and wanted to delete some that were irrelevant and that I shouldn't have installed in the first place. Somehow I deleted everything in the "Installed Updates" list, I know they are still on the computer because when I check for updates nothing new shows up. Is there any way to repopulate this list with the updates I have installed and is there anyway to remove the ones that I downloaded too hastily or should I just carry on since it is not a major issue? Of course I did not have Time Machine up and running yet.

my Mac has recently been playing up. The other day I turned it on to find just a white screen so I rebooted it though safe mode. Since then i have not been able to conduct sofware updates / save microsoft office files / install any programmes. When I try to conduct software updates I get the following - 'None of the selected updates could be saved. You don’t have permission.'I have checked my permissions and they all look fine.
When I try to open or safe a word file i get - 'Word could not create the work file. check the amount of disk space on your startup disk' I have 19.87 GB available on my HD. When i try to install a programme such as ViursBarrierX6 I get this - ' The Installation failed' 'The installer can't creat the folder "/var/folder/qg/11kx8p703n9cx4zpp27vhm0000gn/T/intsall.12034Cd49UU". '

I am trying to update my MacMini from 10.7.3 to 10.7.4 and I am not able to. The user account I am trying to do it from is an admin account. I currently have 4 other updates and I am not able to install any of them and they are listed below.
Airport utility 6.1
Digitial Camera Raw Compatability update 3.13
iTunes 10.6.3
Java for OS X 2012-004 1.0
Here is a copy and paste from my Console install.log only trying to install the Airport Utility and Digital Camera Raw updates. All others were doing the same as these.

In the last month, I've been getting "unknown certificate" notices from Safari. I don't see anything wrong with the certificate details, but I'm not sure what to look for. The notices tell me that without the certificate, I won't know if it is a trusted site: the purpose of the certificates I guess. None of the notices were from first time sites. i.e. I was going there on purpose, not through any links, etc. What's up? Should I be concerned? How do I detect if I SHOULD be concerned by information in the details of the certificate?

I installed the software updates pushed to me the week of May 7, 2012 (installed them May 12th) and now cannot open certain web pages (examples www.cnn.com and www.ancestry.com) but am able to open others (ex. www.harrynorman.com). I installed an update to safari, one for security and another I cannot recall. Rebooted (twice) and still having the same problem. I have a Macbook running Mac OS X 10.6.8 and Safari 5.1.7.

When i run the update for 10.10.1 it says computer will need to restart - then goes back to the update screen and says the updates have changed and i can hit cancel or details - which takes me back to the same update. this just keeps cycling.

When I open my laptop occasionally it has obviously recognized updates and gives me the option to install, I click yes or ok can't remember. When I do it asks me to restart, which I do.When I restart it appears as if it never installed the updates?? When I go to system preferences and check to see installed updates it does not appear to be there?

For whatever reason, when I installed Snow Leopard it did not automatically install the updates for the printer drivers already installed in my computer.
I then tried to manually install the printer drivers using the SL disk and still no luck. The printers that I use are both wireless and work when they are connected with USB. Am I missing something? I'm reading all over about how people have made the upgrade with no problems at all so I'm there's got to be something I'm not doing.

Ever since updating my MacBook Air to Yosemite and my iPhone 6 to iOS 8.0.2 (or maybe 8.1.1), my calendars no longer sync correctly across devices. Prior to the updates, any addition or change I made to the calendar on my iPhone would be added to the calendar on my Mac the next time I synced my phone. Now I have duplicate events on my phone, the calendar on my Mac no longer incorporates changes from the phone and I get a dialog box on the Mac 2-3 times an hour about calendar conflicts. No matter how many times I review the conflicts and choose which events/updates to save, the box keeps coming back. I've never had a persistent issue like this with any previous iOS or Mac OS updates and I can't figure out why it won't stop.

When I check for software updates only itunes and random other updates show up but not security updates or safari update. When i check installed updates I realized my last security update was 2011-004 and I still have safari 5.0.6.

Subsequent to Yosemite or updates, my repeating calendar events can not be updated as before. When I update an event (of a repeating event) on my MacBook Pro; its reverts back when I shut it down and come back, and doesn't update other devices?

Ive updated safari to 8.01 this morning, and now when using safari, after a few minutes the multi gesture functions on my trackpad stop working. I can scroll down pages, flick across windows etc. even the accuracy of the cursor is limited (in editing this i tried to highlight some text to delete, but i had move about 10characters the left to get the ones i wanted).

It has been almost one month since my MBP (mid 2010) getting a strange issue, that the Software Update always say NO UPDATES, even if there are many updates available. I guess this began since I updated my MBP to Mac OSX Lion Update 1.7.3 (Client Combo). FYI, the App Store can run (download new app or updates) without problem, and I can browse or send/receive mails without problem.
