Mar 17, 2012all About 20mins ago a shortcut appeared in my Finder sidebar, for something called Untitled CD. Instead of having an eject button next to it, like an actual cd would have, this has a black and yellow wheel next to it. This is of particular annoyance to me, as i am now unable to burn any CD's. Instead a message pops up saying burn is currently in use by another program. I have tried everything to delete it, but it just wont go! Whats more interesting is that I have a macbook air, and the icon appears even when my external dvd drive isn't plugged in.

Jun 19, 2014I desperately need to update my MacBook Air -- however - when I attempt to do so, the login window appears - and it has my OLD email account from YEARS ago, not the one associated with this computer. If I go to iTunes - the correct email address for my account appears. If I go into my settings - the email address is correct. I don't get it -- it's the right email address associated with this computer and my APPLE ID account - but when I try to perform my software updates - it has an OLD unused email account in the APPLE ID box, and it is NOT changeable -- you can't click on it or change it in any way.

Jun 2, 2014My Softward Update and App Store repeatedly "crash unexpectedly" (along with Dashboard, Finder and a whole host of other applications).
I have tried everything but it seems there is no way I can use either of them.
As a result, I haven't been able to update anything for months and my OSX is now thoroughly screwed up.
Is there any way I can update OSX without using Softward Update or App Store? Is there an update file I can download without having to go through them?
I'd prefer not to resort to OSX Restore as I don't want have my Microsoft Office product key.

May 4, 2012I bought itunes match and I want to delete music from the Purchased tab in the Itunes store that is there in the icloud. I backed up the music I want. I turned on itunes match and downloaded the music and then deleted it all and selected the option to delete from icloud. After running itunes match again it says there is no music in icloud so I thought all the songs were gone from icloud. I go back into the Purchased tab in the itunes store and all the music I ever bought is still there. Is there a way I can get rid of all the music in the Purchased tab? I thought by getting itunes match and deleting from the icloud it would get rid of the music from the Purchased tab. Please advise who to get rid of the music from the Purchased tab in the itunes store.
I am doing this on my macbook with Lion installed and latest version of itunes. I have deleted and recreated the library at least 3 times as well trying to vanquish that music from the Purchased tab.

Jan 31, 2012Mac App Store says that I didn't use my account to purchase FCPX, but I only have the one account. Now it won't let me update it.When I look at my purchased history, it lists all the apps I've bought, but it has an "Install" next to FCPX. However, it is installed. In fact I've been using it quite recently. However, when I click on the "Install" button, it gives me a message: We could not complete your purchase. Fincal Cut is already installed on this computer. Choose Software Update from the Apple menu to check for available updated. When I do that, it says everything is up to date! How can I correct this? I'm on a MacBook Pro 2.3 i7 running 10.7.2.
