I was working on a problem with apple support and may have caused thi new problem. My iCloud account suddenly disappeared and was replaced by secondary email address I never used before. All my iCloud mail is gone. I tried to correct by going to accounts and tried to change the email address but it woul not do it because I am unable to edit the incoming mail criteria. I still have the iCloud connection on my iPad and iPhone but not on my Mac lion. I am sending this message from the iPad..

I finally updated to Mac OS lion, I started with Mac OS snow leopard, did a clean install and then upgraded. But somehow I lost applications iPhoto, iMovie, and Garage Band. Was there a step before this I was supposed to do? Also is there a way to get them back?

I've just upgraded from 10.6.8 to 10.9.3 and am very disappointed to see that everything in the sidebar is shown in shades of gray. I've used FolderBrander for many years to color code my finder folders and it was great that the folder colors also appeared in the sidebar in 10.6.8. I could group associated folders by color in the sidebar and that made for very rapid and accurate access deep into my folder architecture. I am mourning this lost functionality. how I could send this dissatisfaction along to Apple along with a request to restore colors to the sidebar?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have had an app called Total Finder installed, they recently did an update, which caused me to have sidebar problems. I have since deleted this app, because I couldn't work without my sidebar.
After deleting the app, and re-launching finder, I now have no sidebar, no options, search box or back buttons in my finder window, and my folders open in new windows when the 'always open folders in new windows' box is unticked.
How do I get it back? Tonight my finder sidebar has disappeared and I can't work out how to get it back. When I open Finder there is no side bar showing my HD, Apps, Docs, Movies, etc. Don't know where it's gone or how to get it back.

How to add buttons back to the top. In Terminal type: Code: defaults write com.apple.iTunes full - window - boolean YES. To change back, use the same code, but trade YES for NO.
How to add color back to the icons:
1. Quit iTunes
2. Download the itunes10color.zip from here.
3. Right-click the iTunes icon and select "show in finder"
4. In Finder, right-click the iTunes icon again and select "Show package details"
5. Open "contents" and locate the "resources" folder.
6. Replace the file "iTunes.rsrc" with the one downloaded
Short version:
Replace /Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/Resources/iTunes.rsrc with the downloaded file
Both are confirmed to work on an Intel Mac running Snow Leopard
I have Lion on both my Air and Mini, but the Air doesn't display Airdrop in the Finder.

I don't see the Airdrop option on my iMac after upgrading to Lion. I assume my hardware doesn't support that feature. If so, can my computer be upgraded to allow this feature?

I have seen references to something called Air Drop to allow two Macs who are on the same Wi-Fi network to exchange files but cannot find any way to use it or instructions.

For whatever reason airdrop does not show up in my favorites folder and I can't find it anywhere. Is there a way to reinstall or enable?

why I was able to see my father's iMac in the airdrop menu and he was able to see mine as well but after a short period of time both our computers disappear from each other's airdrop menu. The screen saver did not activate and neither of us switched to different screens. I have brought my Macbook Pro as close as 8 inches away from his. I have used airdrop before with my laptop and a friend's newer macbook pro and airdrop worked just fine. We both have the same antivirus, kapersky, and I have disabled and enabled it so I doubt that is the problem.

I just booted into Windows and saw that there were some Windows Updates available and it asked me to reboot the computer however it failed to boot into Windows. So I restarted and tried to boot into OS X instead, but that didn't work either.
So I put in the OS X install DVD and checked out Disk Utility. Turned out that all my partitions where screwed up. There were 3 partitions listed as Windows_ldm, with incorrect sizes (I had 4 partitions before).
Long story short: I'm now reinstalling OS X and I lost everything I had on the drive, I think. I'll try some restore software once I've gotten OS X installed.
A little pissed right now... How the heck can Windows F up the entire drive?
What is the maximum limit of a file or dmg that can be shared via Airdrop?

I have the latest Macbook Pro, so it shouldn't be that.Basically I have what most people have. it keeps telling me "User declined request"when the other person did not even recieve anything, whatsoever. Even though I am right next to the person.People have said deleting/re-adding your apple ID solves this problem. for me, it only solves it one boot. So for every fail, I would have to boot twice. Can this not be patched?

While trying to back up emails I seem to have lost them. Following the HELP page in Mail (Mac OS X program) I moved the MAIL folder from LIBRARY to the desktop. I failed to press OPTION while I was doing this, as the HELP page advised. So now, in Mail the identifiers of the messages are there, but the messages aren't and an error message appears saying that the emails have not been downloaded from the server, that I need to be online, etc. I am on line, have done "get mail", all of the obvious things.
I've tried to locate the original MAIL folder with Spotlight.
The server is at [URL]
I use a lap top that is usually connected to a high-resolution external monitor. When I disconnect, usually things behave, but occasionally the windows of certain programs will end up way out off the screen.Today I have a Thunderbird window that is far away (Mozilla apps are common victims/causes of this problem). Normally I would just quit and restart, but I don't trust it to save the draft of this important email. Here are the facts: The window is way off to the left. There is no one-pixel still on my main monitor. If I use F11 to see all Thunderbird windows, they swish in from the left, but if I select one they swish out again. Ditto if I minimize and maximize again.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I hit customize toolbar to get rid of a button on my Safari toolbar. The window didn't pop up like it was supposed to, so I tried clicking around, and clicked the address bar and it disappeared.
Now even after a restart, I can't get the customize toolbar dialog to come up, therefore I can't get my address bar back.
This is on 10.5.2 by the way.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am up to date on software updates, and just this week, my MB Pro has lost audio--can't play iTunes, won't work with headphones, nor with the speakers. I'm in classes that require audio! I've check sound settings in system preferences, checked the audio buttons, everything.

Relatively new to Mac. In Mac Mail, I accidentally dragged some of the default mailboxes (Drafts) out of the Mailboxes Pane on the left up to the top bar and they disappeared without so much as a warning message to let me know! I can't seem to find a way to get them back or the mail that was in them.
