View 3 RepliesI have a MacBook Air and one day I lost the sound all together. I had tried to bring it back from the keyboard but it seems to be locked and cannot unlock it. Then I went to check on the sound in the system preferences and it is not showing anything either.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter re-arranging my set-up, I suddenly have no sound from my external speakers (JBL Creature II). After the first panic, I figured I would try with my MBP. Odly, they work just fine with that. Then i tried with my headphones from my iPhone - no sound at alle. I?ve resetted PR-RAM (twice), and is now stocked - and pissed.
View 8 Replies View Relatedi was playing around iTunes open and everything then suddenly no sound, it was fine before so i checked all my setting everything's fine, checked wiring and power to soundsticks all good. Reboot and the loading alert plays nice and loud as always but log in and still no sound.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy brother has just jumped on the Mac bandwagon and has bought himself a new 21.5-inch 4670 iMac after years of persuading him to ditch PC. He's only had it a few days, but he fears he may have messed things up with the audio after downloading and installing 3rd party drivers to make his existing external audio interface compatible with the iMac. This is the problem as he describes it: I first downloaded the UA25USBDRIVER from Edirol (Roland) and then installed it. However my audio interface (Cakewalk SPS-25) did not work therefore I uninstalled the driver with the uninstall option which came with the download.
I then downloaded the SoundBlaster.USB.Audio.Support.pkg from the following site (had to register first):

the mac mini will not output sound or find any sound device including headphones... what did i disconnect?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just booted into Windows and saw that there were some Windows Updates available and it asked me to reboot the computer however it failed to boot into Windows. So I restarted and tried to boot into OS X instead, but that didn't work either.
So I put in the OS X install DVD and checked out Disk Utility. Turned out that all my partitions where screwed up. There were 3 partitions listed as Windows_ldm, with incorrect sizes (I had 4 partitions before).
Long story short: I'm now reinstalling OS X and I lost everything I had on the drive, I think. I'll try some restore software once I've gotten OS X installed.
A little pissed right now... How the heck can Windows F up the entire drive?
While trying to back up emails I seem to have lost them. Following the HELP page in Mail (Mac OS X program) I moved the MAIL folder from LIBRARY to the desktop. I failed to press OPTION while I was doing this, as the HELP page advised. So now, in Mail the identifiers of the messages are there, but the messages aren't and an error message appears saying that the emails have not been downloaded from the server, that I need to be online, etc. I am on line, have done "get mail", all of the obvious things.
I've tried to locate the original MAIL folder with Spotlight.
The server is at [URL]
I use a lap top that is usually connected to a high-resolution external monitor. When I disconnect, usually things behave, but occasionally the windows of certain programs will end up way out off the screen.Today I have a Thunderbird window that is far away (Mozilla apps are common victims/causes of this problem). Normally I would just quit and restart, but I don't trust it to save the draft of this important email. Here are the facts: The window is way off to the left. There is no one-pixel still on my main monitor. If I use F11 to see all Thunderbird windows, they swish in from the left, but if I select one they swish out again. Ditto if I minimize and maximize again.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI temporarily lost all sound on my MacBook Pro. I hooked it up to my television and had good sound. Then I unplugged it from the TV and lost all sound. I couldn't get sound through the speakers on my computer, television, or iPod headphones. I went online and searched for similar problems. I was amazed at how many people had the same problem. Many of these people were forced to send their computers to Apple to have it fixed. I found this: [URL]

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I hit customize toolbar to get rid of a button on my Safari toolbar. The window didn't pop up like it was supposed to, so I tried clicking around, and clicked the address bar and it disappeared.
Now even after a restart, I can't get the customize toolbar dialog to come up, therefore I can't get my address bar back.
This is on 10.5.2 by the way.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am up to date on software updates, and just this week, my MB Pro has lost audio--can't play iTunes, won't work with headphones, nor with the speakers. I'm in classes that require audio! I've check sound settings in system preferences, checked the audio buttons, everything.

Relatively new to Mac. In Mac Mail, I accidentally dragged some of the default mailboxes (Drafts) out of the Mailboxes Pane on the left up to the top bar and they disappeared without so much as a warning message to let me know! I can't seem to find a way to get them back or the mail that was in them.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWoke up this morning late, so I didn't check the weather online like I usually do. Unplugged everything from my MBP (including an external display) while it was still asleep, tossed it in my back after it slept again, and headed out the door. When I got to class, all of my desktop items are gone. Macintosh HD, mounted dmg's, some files, and some other things are all gone off my desktop. They obviously still exist and I can open them from Finder
