Apr 11, 2012I momentarily pointed Time Machine to make back ups at the wrong partition on the external HDD attached to my Time Capsule, now I have pointed back to the correct partition, but it won't recognise the old back-ups. ie it says "Oldest Backup - None, Latest Backup - None". How can I pick up the old back ups?

May 31, 2012I was working on a problem with apple support and may have caused thi new problem. My iCloud account suddenly disappeared and was replaced by secondary email address I never used before. All my iCloud mail is gone. I tried to correct by going to accounts and tried to change the email address but it woul not do it because I am unable to edit the incoming mail criteria. I still have the iCloud connection on my iPad and iPhone but not on my Mac lion. I am sending this message from the iPad..

Dec 7, 2009My boss accidentally deleted all the messages in his inbox in Apple Mail and since it syncs with the server (mediatemple), they're all gone from the webmail too. Is there anyway to recover these files? I sent a support request to mediatemple to see if they have backups that they can recover too.
We have a tape backup system here at work that backs up his user account. Would there be a specific file to look for that might contain the old messages?

Apr 15, 2012I accidentally hid the Safari toolbar and now I can't get it back. The toolbar NOT the menu bar. The toolbar with the navigation buttons and address and good search bars. I can't find any way to unhide the toolbar. This is for Safari on Windows in case that's not clear. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling but the toolbar was still hidden. How do I get the toolbar back? Safari is useless without it.

Windows On Mac :: Get Back Lost Data/lost All Hard Drive Partitions After Windows Update?
Jun 26, 2010I just booted into Windows and saw that there were some Windows Updates available and it asked me to reboot the computer however it failed to boot into Windows. So I restarted and tried to boot into OS X instead, but that didn't work either.
So I put in the OS X install DVD and checked out Disk Utility. Turned out that all my partitions where screwed up. There were 3 partitions listed as Windows_ldm, with incorrect sizes (I had 4 partitions before).
Long story short: I'm now reinstalling OS X and I lost everything I had on the drive, I think. I'll try some restore software once I've gotten OS X installed.
A little pissed right now... How the heck can Windows F up the entire drive?

Mar 22, 2012Prior to Lion, if I clicked on my Dashboard, my widgets would all appear "floating" on the desktop. Post-Lion, if I click on Dashboard, my widgets appear on a separate screen with a blank background. Is there any way to get the widgets back to "floating" on the desktop. (I'm sure floating is not the technical term.) I don't have a ton of widgets -- just the basics. I need the calculator widget to appear on the desktop so I can use it when looking at a spreadsheet. (It's not an urgent issue, except that I am working on my taxes -- and it would make life easier.) I am very new to Lion, installed only a couple weeks ago. Running Lion 10.7.3
