OS X V10.7 Lion :: Airdrop Literally Never Works (User Declined Request)?
Apr 18, 2012
I have the latest Macbook Pro, so it shouldn't be that.Basically I have what most people have. it keeps telling me "User declined request"when the other person did not even recieve anything, whatsoever. Even though I am right next to the person.People have said deleting/re-adding your apple ID solves this problem. for me, it only solves it one boot. So for every fail, I would have to boot twice. Can this not be patched?
How do i check to see if i have unauthorised sharing of my network. i think i've activated my macbook pro to my new imac but there's a shared pc on my shared network with an id i don't recognise
Info:MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2009), Mac OS X (10.7.3)
I was trying to share files between new imac and macbook pro and there is no airdrop on macbook pro. All the threads and info say that it should be there but it is not in the finder at all.
I don't see the Airdrop option on my iMac after upgrading to Lion. I assume my hardware doesn't support that feature. If so, can my computer be upgraded to allow this feature?
I have seen references to something called Air Drop to allow two Macs who are on the same Wi-Fi network to exchange files but cannot find any way to use it or instructions.
why I was able to see my father's iMac in the airdrop menu and he was able to see mine as well but after a short period of time both our computers disappear from each other's airdrop menu. The screen saver did not activate and neither of us switched to different screens. I have brought my Macbook Pro as close as 8 inches away from his. I have used airdrop before with my laptop and a friend's newer macbook pro and airdrop worked just fine. We both have the same antivirus, kapersky, and I have disabled and enabled it so I doubt that is the problem.

So.. in a nutshell, I returned home to find my iMac unresponsive. It wouldn't wake up at all, so I was forced to reboot it by holding the Power button down. Upon restarting, I'm greeted with its very first kernel panic. (It's over two years old now.) Here's its specs, and what I've tried thus far.
It's my understanding that these are supposed to pair up with little effort. Such as just turn on the printer, then add the printer, and I should print. It's all wireless, right?
Well, the printers power button just blinks, it says it's printing, but it takes literally 8-10min to print a page. Does one or two passes, stalls out for 20 seconds, does one or two pass, stalls out.... then, approximately half the time, it just gives up and spits out a half printed page.
I bought a new Macbook Pro (13 inch 2.9 ghz) on June 15th and I had had heard nothing about the ability to request the new Mac OS X software lion for free until just now....can i still redeem it for free since I have the new Mac?
i cant figure out how to request the free update to osx lion my laptop is brand new and i know you can request a free update if you bought it after june 11.
I don't ever see rubbish like this on my mac - A POP up with no exit cues
I run ClamAx daily as I'm a Internet Marketer so pretty much live on this machine (and a pretty cool pc) all day and do plenty of downloading. Ive got this pop up on my screen this morning
The options are Visit website Update Later Download Now
This is definately not right. It has no label and no buttons to close or remove so I'm fairly sure its dangerous. How do I get rid of this blasted thing? I cant find out what or where it is?
I am trying to install Lion and i continue to receive a message in the app store that says, your request could not be completed, lion requires 2 GB of memory. I have more than 50 GB available.
I've setup my server and enrolled a few devices. Everything works fine if I'm in the same LAN but as soon as I tether my laptop to my cell service and try to issue the remote lock nothing happens till the laptop is back on the network and it gets the lock request. I have changed the hostname of the lion server a few times if that broke something. Also the server is behind a NAT so do ports need to be forwarded?
Initially, the trash container worked as expected: Items would go directly to the trash and stay there until I emptied it.
I don't believe I did anything to cause what it does now but I don't like it: If I move something to to trash, I am prompted to enter my password (which I really don't like) and no items are held in the trash (what I used to call the recycling bin--which I kind of liked having).
As for troubleshooting, I have changed the preference settings under "Finder" and nothing changes.
Info: iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2012), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)
I purchased App for MacBook. It is alternative to lock screen.
I set password etc followed instructions (no need of lecture me) and it has locked me out of my MacBook and the password I set up does not work...
Im just wondering if there is a way to delete this App without having to log in as the only other account on my MacBook is Guest. I can't use my Mac at all with this app as it will not allow me to enter my account
I am trying to get airdrop to work on my mbp, I understand that the process networkbrowseragent should be running, however it isn't on my computer (even after I reboot). How do I get it to run?
Info: MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4)
I have a Macbook Pro running on OS X Yosemite. Yesterday I was at a meeting with other people using the same laptop and their AirDrop all works (when you click on the AirDrop icon it starts to scan like a radar. Mine however, doesn't do anything even though bluetooth is on and I have changed the settings to say "Allow me to be discovered by: everyone." I do notice also that my AirDrop icon is blue in the window instead of gray like everyone else's. This is what it looks like when I click on it. No scanning happens. I can't see other devices and they can't see me.
Info: MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)
I cannot get Airplay to work on an older MacBook, ca. 2007, even though I recently had Apple install a new hard drive, 4 Gigs of RAM, and Lion OS X 10.7.4.
