View 4 RepliesSo I hit customize toolbar to get rid of a button on my Safari toolbar. The window didn't pop up like it was supposed to, so I tried clicking around, and clicked the address bar and it disappeared.
Now even after a restart, I can't get the customize toolbar dialog to come up, therefore I can't get my address bar back.
This is on 10.5.2 by the way.
I somehow have lost my Macbook Pro address book. How I did this I do not know. It just disappeared when I was trying to send email with gmail. Now the address book shows the rainbow circle and then cuts out. Then I get a prompt saying info. sent to Apple. What do I do?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have really tried to like the new Safari, but I can't seem to generate 'affection' for the tabs. One thing especially is irritating to me. Being over the address bar is bad enough, but when there's a bunch of tabs, finding a spot to 'grab' the window to move it is difficult.
Is there a way to move the tabs back below the address window like the older Safari? I hope this hasn't been asked and answered before. I didn't see it.
I just booted into Windows and saw that there were some Windows Updates available and it asked me to reboot the computer however it failed to boot into Windows. So I restarted and tried to boot into OS X instead, but that didn't work either.
So I put in the OS X install DVD and checked out Disk Utility. Turned out that all my partitions where screwed up. There were 3 partitions listed as Windows_ldm, with incorrect sizes (I had 4 partitions before).
Long story short: I'm now reinstalling OS X and I lost everything I had on the drive, I think. I'll try some restore software once I've gotten OS X installed.
A little pissed right now... How the heck can Windows F up the entire drive?
Does anyone else agree? Can I make this so somehow?

My main address book, the one that can be edited, is fine. The one that comes up when you click on 'Address book" in mail suddenly lost all the names. How do I get the names back in it? The group names are there, but the individual names are 'somewhere in cyberspace".

I have lost all of my address book contacts. I have done a search for AddressBook.data and can't find any files. There are only two variables I can name that may be at fault. One, I deleted the Address Book widget from my Dashboard the other day. Two, I installed Snow Leopard on Friday. Any ideas of how I can find my lost data? I went into my Time Machine and I can't seem to find it, even in past copies.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI recently downgraded from Snow Leopard to Leopard and after getting back to Leopard I realized that most of the OS X apps such as Dashboard, Address Book, Automator, etc. are all not working. (They still appear under the APP folder but with the APP icon and a circle+cross through them). I'm assuming this has something to do with SL being a newer version than Leopard. I backed up everything in Time Machine before the switch but I'm not sure what to do about getting those Apps back?
View 1 Replies View Relatedi was going from Tiger to Leopard on a G5 desktop. I was having some trouble, and someone at apple advised me to do an archive and install without preserving my network settings. Leopard is installed, I've gotten all my documents back, but I can't find my calendar, address book or web bookmarks.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI synced my Nokia 6300 with Address Book and all about 450 contacts were transferred successfully. I used the iSync. In the meantime, I added some 50 more contacts to my cell phone Contacts and wanted to sync them with address book as well. So, I deleted all the existing 450 contacts from the Address Book on my Mac, hoping the next time I sync cellphone with computer, only the new 50 contacts will be transferred to Address Book. Here is what I ended up with: Address Book with only 50 new contacts and CELL PHONE with only 50 SAME contacts! All of the previous 450 contacts just disappeared from my cell phone! Just like that! I was wondering if there is any chance I can retrieve my contacts, it does not matter where to...either cell phone or Address Book on my Mac. Btw, I am using Leopard 10.5.8 and I have searched all over the web, everybody is mentioning some AddressBook.data.previous file but I cannot find it anywhere! I even created Automator ShowAllFiles Finder Plug in, the Addressbook.data.pevious just is not there. Is there any hope for my contacts or should I try to do something?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo, is it possible for the address bar "top hit" or "history" to recognize part of a web address if you don't start with it?
For example.
In firefox, when I start typing macrumors, I get forums.macrumors, macrumors....
I opened my safari today and when I was about to type the website that I want to go to I couldn't find the space where you type it at.. I don't know what happened?

While trying to back up emails I seem to have lost them. Following the HELP page in Mail (Mac OS X program) I moved the MAIL folder from LIBRARY to the desktop. I failed to press OPTION while I was doing this, as the HELP page advised. So now, in Mail the identifiers of the messages are there, but the messages aren't and an error message appears saying that the emails have not been downloaded from the server, that I need to be online, etc. I am on line, have done "get mail", all of the obvious things.
I've tried to locate the original MAIL folder with Spotlight.
The server is at [URL]
I use a lap top that is usually connected to a high-resolution external monitor. When I disconnect, usually things behave, but occasionally the windows of certain programs will end up way out off the screen.Today I have a Thunderbird window that is far away (Mozilla apps are common victims/causes of this problem). Normally I would just quit and restart, but I don't trust it to save the draft of this important email. Here are the facts: The window is way off to the left. There is no one-pixel still on my main monitor. If I use F11 to see all Thunderbird windows, they swish in from the left, but if I select one they swish out again. Ditto if I minimize and maximize again.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to OS X 10.6 and in the process I lost almost all of my contacts in Address Book. I did a full backup before I did the upgrade, so I expect I still have the file even if it isn't still on the hard disk.

I have an apple id based on an e-mail address I no longer have and that I have lost the password to. I had purchased several apps with this account, and now cannot update them. I tried retrieving the password from Apple, but since I no longer have the e-mail address, I can't get it. Is it possible to somehow access the old ID and transfer the ownersip to my new ID?
