One of the first things I did after I installed Lion was to see if I was able to bring up my gmail, and it worked. Now, 24 hrs. later, I've done the iCloud thing, mac mail and yahoo mail work, but gmail doesn't. What happened?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with setting up my Gmail account for IMAP. I followed all of the instructions of Google's website, but I am having an issue with setting up the Spam. Reading Google's site it says that when I delete Spam from [Gmail]/Spam that the e-mail should be deleted; however the e-mail appears instead in [Gmail]/All Mail. This also happens if I delete something from [Gmail]/Deleted. My question is how can I change my settings so that (1) the e-mail/spam is permanently deleted or (2) at sent ONLY to the trash and not [Gmail]/All Mail? This also occurs on my iPhone, but I have the mail accounts synced between my phone and computer do if I fixed one I fix the other.

This never used to be a problem before the latest Safari update:When I try to open a window of the other Gmail account that I am logged into (multiple sign in), it always freezes close to the end of loading it.All the more reasons to use Chrome.Always forced to use basic HTML mode but it has very limited functionality.

I'm trying to think of a way to mimic Gmail functionality without actually using a Google/ Gmail account. My work email account is an imap account which I would like to use on my Macbook, and also my iPad. The ideal situation would be for all of my folders, inbox, and sent emails to sync as if I were working on the same device.In other words, I would like to write an email from my iPad only to come back to my office and find a copy on my laptop. Is this possible? Is it merely a matter of adding the imap account to my iPad?
I currently have the account set up on my Macbook and iPhone. The iPhone functionality isn't great. Emails which I send from my iPhone do not appear in my sent emails on my Macbook. I'm looking to remedy this.

A friend has an iPhone 5 (iOS 7.1) and a Mac Book Pro (OSX Lion). He wanted the contacts from his Gmail account to appear on his iPhone. This was easy enough - I just added his Gmail account to his iPhone under Mail, Contacts Calendars.Â
The problem - we want all of these contacts to sync with his Mac. Both if the iPhone and Mac have iCloud enabled with the same account. Accounts are set to sync. However, the only contacts appearing on him Mac are the ones that were already there. It's not syncing all accounts from his iPhone.Â
I am able to accept/decline my icloud invites from work through my gmail account, however they do not show up on my icalendar. Why is that? I use my gmail email address as my primary icloud address. I expected all the events to show up on my icalendar.Â

This is perhaps an expected result, but from the launch of iTunes (V10.6) in OSX (V10.7.3) until the beach ball stops spinng takes close to 5 minutes. I have just under 20,000 tracks in iTunes. Probably 95% are in iCloud. I suspect that this is the culprit. The track list loads within 30 seconds, but the spinning beach ball of death just keeps on chugging. I do not display album art.

Is anyone else having problems with iCloud mail at the moment? For the past few days it has been VERY slow to update, sometimes failing altogether. Yesterday, I deleted a number of emails, only to find them restored after a later update.
