Jan 8, 2009I was given Parallels for Christmas (I asked for it...) to install on my new Macbook. I have a windows based cell phone that I wanted to be able to load music, calendar, etc and be able to work it with my Macbook. Curious to know what Windows OS I should get to load in Parallels? I won't be needing anything exotic for my job or anything, just basic Windows functionality. Been so long since I worked with Windows, don't know which would be ideal for me. I have seen 32-bit-/64, Basic, Premium, Windows XP or Vista, etc. Can anybody give me their best recommendation

May 12, 2012I have a Mid-2011 iMac running 10.7 right now.I partitioned the boot drive, creating a new space so I could load up 10.6 (in an effort to be able to play my older Diablo II and Warcraft games) but my retail CD version is not working. I did some research, and found that this is because my hardware is incompatible with the oldest versions of 10.6. What I am confused about, when reading through threads, is how can I get around this? Is there a way I can load up a newer version of 10.6 (like 10.6.3 or newer) onto this partition? Do I need an older Mac to do this (right now both my laptop and iMac are running 10.7 but I could always borrow my Mom's laptop for a bit since she is running 10.6.x)? Since I have a legal version of 10.6 I assume there is a way to do this, but I am not sure how to approach.

Apr 9, 2012I just purchased an iMac OS X version 10.7.3. My kids keep trying to play games but are prompted that they need to download Adobe Flash player. I follow the prompts for the latest version, but no luck. It says it's successfully installed. When I go to system preferences and click on the flash player, it says "plug in version 11.2.202.228 is installed" but when I click the "check now" box and it tells me to the Adobe websitem, under version information it says I have 9.0.124.0 installed? I have uninstalled and reinstalled countless times to no avail.

ICloud :: Mac Mail Version 3.6 (936) Won't Login To It
May 3, 2012I lost the ablity to login to my iCloud mail account after April 18, 2012. Not sure of the exact date but mac mail crredentials are no longer being accepted. Deleted the MobilMe account and recreated as an IMAP which is a standard protocol and should work but no luck. All my other IMAP accounts are still running fine. I can't log in from my browers either from my G5 running 10.5.8.

Mar 12, 2012This is perhaps an expected result, but from the launch of iTunes (V10.6) in OSX (V10.7.3) until the beach ball stops spinng takes close to 5 minutes. I have just under 20,000 tracks in iTunes. Probably 95% are in iCloud. I suspect that this is the culprit. The track list loads within 30 seconds, but the spinning beach ball of death just keeps on chugging. I do not display album art.

Jun 7, 2012I have two sets of contacts in my address book, one on local drive and one from iCloud. How do I delete all the contacts from my local drive as they are all out of date?
I have tried deleting the contacts but they keep reappearing. I have tried to create a new group and they keep disappearing! I have read forums and some talk about removing the two addressbook.plist files but I don't even have those in my preference folder...
If I do not have those files, where is my address book storing these contact information and how do I get rid of them? It is driving me nuts having to deal with two lots of each contact and not being able to create groups or delete contacts.
