It appears that my apps don't reopen to their last state. For example I can close safari with the red x and when I reopen it safari just goes to my home page. Even if I had multiple tabs open it just opens a single tab with the homepage. Other apps seem to start from scratch as well. I have the restore option checked in system preferences. Both my IMac and my MacBook do this.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a MacBook Pro ca. 2010. It's on 10.7.2. For the past few months I've been fighting this particular problem, and have not been able to get a solution on other Mac forums. Hopefully someone here has some insight. Every time I start or restart the Mac it restores the desktop, including the dock and apps, to a state from a few months ago. It opens Safari, iPhoto, System Preferences and the Real Player Downloader (which I just this moment deleted). iPhoto immediately wants to repair its database, Safari opens the tabs that were open that day, and System Preferences goes to Network.
I have tried deleting the folders in /username/libraray/application saved states. I have locked that folder. I have unchecked the option in Preferneces, and I always uncheck the option to save states when shutting down. Based on a suggestion from a user elsewhere I repaired disk permissions on the hard drive.

A lot of people have been affected by the problem - the change to Lion OSX has left them stranded because Power PC Applications are no longer supported. I don't understand firstly why Apple has done this. There are thousands of software programs in use by their customers and suddenly these don't work. As these are programs used by students, teachers, employers and employees this seems quite senseless to leave everyone high and dry.

Since upgrading to Lion, I can't save changes or even save new documents in Pages on my laptop. When I try to save, I get the dialog box: "The document “Untitled 2” could not be saved as “Untitled 2”. View 5 Replies View RelatedAnybody have the 12WX working correctly with lion with no previous wacom installed? hooked it up right away with no problems on a leopard mac pro. had working windows xp on virtual machine no problems.with imac lion, would not run the install drivers from disk (PPC). so installed the latest 6.2 driver and a bamboo intuos 3 driver as recomended by wacom. installed driver for pen. the bamboo driver worked for a day or so ( with no option keys working), but had 4 point calibration unlike the two point from leopard install.now, neither are recognizing a tablet connection, only works as monitor. uninstalled. tried an older driver 6.15. ran fix disk permissions, reset pram. restarted(+++). dis and re connected. reinstalled again and again. still no luck getting it running on a new mid 2011 imac with lion.

On her laptop now, there are no previous recipients in Mail. As it turns out, she really needs these. They are on the iMac. I need to move that list from the iMac to her laptop.
