I use the Apple character in Twitter to distinguish myself as an Apple computer user. When someone asked me how I got that in my profile I went through the steps and found that the character was missing from the keyboard and character viewer. Did Apple remove it in Snow leopard or did I do something to lose it? If I can get it back how do I do that?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently went on a trip to Poland with my Macbook air (OS 10.7.3). As I tried to connect to a wifi network, I found out that its WPA password included a Polish letter (ł), which I couldn’t type in any way. I tried setting Polish as system language, copying and pasting from Word, using both the character and keyboard viewer, but with no results.

When I choose Edit > Special Characters... nothing happens. It used to open a panel with pictoglyphs and other characters.
View 8 Replies View Relatedcommand-option-apostrophe does not work in Apple Mail for me (Mail 7.3, OS 10.9.3). This is the keyboard shortcut used to decrease the quote level of a quoted line in a Mail message. In other words this is the keyboard shortcut for the menu item:
Format --> Quote Level --> Decrease
It hasn't worked for me since at least 10.8. Are others having this problem or do I need to dig more deeply through system extensions, looking for some kin of conflict?

I haven't had this work with Lion on my macbook pro that just died nor the Macbook Air I just got. I use accents on letters all the time and it would be really helpfu. I've tried turning off key repeat, that doesn't help. I tried copy and pasting something into terminal I saw on one of the other discussions, but that didn't help either (although it is possible I did it wrong since I don't use Terminal hardly ever).

I have installed Windows XP on my Macbook Pro with no issues, however on my iMac everything seems to work except for a few issues with the keyboard. For some reason, when I press the quote button I get the funny symbol of an uppercase E with a line above it instead. (ȩ The same thing happens with other symbols such as the question mark and square brackets.
Is this just a simple keyboard mapping problem or were some drivers not properly installedɍ
I can no longer hold down a key and get the character to repeat as say, aaaaa. Instead I get a menu of accented a's, such as àáâäæãåā. I can't find any thing in the System Preferences that allows my to turn this function off.

Is there a way to teach my Mail (Version 5.2 (1257)) to Capitalize First Character Of Sentence? I am on Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 (11D50b)?

when I upgraded to lion (I think). I also run VMware fusion with windows 7 so maybe a virus? I ran disk utilities, followed suggestions on these communities to no avail. Our IT person and then apple support told me I should replace the hard drive. So I did. I played around a little bit and everything seemed good. Then I did a full restore from time capsule and everything is going downhill again.

My Mac Pro RAID 5 (with Apple RAID controller card and RAID 5 volume with 3 hard disks) showed degraded RAID set message due to failed drive. After I repalced the failed drive, I was unable to add it back to the RAID set. So I tried to removed or deleted this RAID set so that I can rebuild the RAID set from scratch. No matter what I did, I was unable to delete the RAID set using the RAID Utility.

My macbook is relatively new and, for some reason, the numbers and letters won't type. It seems like I've looked up every shortcut and I haven't found one that works. The track pad and mouse work perfectly, and when I startup my keys will type in my password, but after logging in they stop typing. The F keys and the command and control and option keys also work along with delete and the arrows but enter and neither shifts work.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've already tried basic methods of resolving this issue i.e. resetting and unplugging and replugging the keyboard and my keyboard still won't type letters or numbers. The only kind of response I get by typing the keys is the keyboard will performing shortcut commands like save and open, etc. without holding control or alt, it does it when I press the letter keys by themselves.

I need to run some program that uses the domain name for the license.
When I checked System Preferences > Sharing > Remote login on,
There is a message saying "To log in to this computer remotely type "ssh name@xxx.XXXXXX.XX".
Now, in order to my program to run, I need to change the characters in capital letters (from the domain name) to lowercase. ie. I would like to see a message of the sort "To log in to this computer remotely type
"ssh name@xxx.xxxxx.xx".
Is this possible? How can I change the domain name?
My keyboard is typing letters and numbers. It only happens on the first two rows, (i.e., q1, w2, etc.) I have checked the settings, they seem ok.

Maybe I'm just not used to it, but one annoying quirk I have found with mac keyboards (I recently bought a 20 inch iMac) is the keyboard is always giving me double letters when I type that I always have to go back and edit out.
I already went to system preferences and changed sensitvity and repeat settings to the slowest.
It's ridiculous in how inaccurate it is; has anyone else experienced this problem and/or have any suggestions? Just in writing this paragraph I've had to fix at least 10 times.
No other keyboard has given me such fits before.
I have a problem with the non capitals of the letters N and P. When I press them normally nothing happens but when I hold down shift I get the capital. So it seems it is no hardware problem?
View 3 Replies View Relatedall of a sudden tonight my keyboard is missing out letters when i type and when i go back and hit the key again it wont work but if i wait a minute or 2 it works but it happens with all the keys not just one in particular and sometimes now they seem to stick so if i press the letter "a" it will come out as aaaaaaaaa
my trackpad is staring to go where it wants to even when i'm not touching it and also when i use 2 fingers to zoom i have to lift my 2 fingers off the trackpad twicee sooo that it actually works
I cant use the right shift button to get capital m or j. Theres no problem with the left shift button. Im using MacBook unibody with 10.5.7 but its been so since I bought it.
Text looks correct on the screen, but a few letters get replaced in the printed copy with the preceding letter, so M sometimes prints as N, or e prints as d! Some M's and e's print correctly, same font, same page. I've rebooted, deleted preferences, restored fonts from Time Machine backup, no change. I've restarted the printer. But if I print to a pdf file, the pdf is correct, and Preview prints the pdf correctly.

I have found a previous conversation, see community converation titled: Label Y-Axis as letters, not numbers?
it describes how to do what I want. I understand this described process but I cannot figure out where to place the "lookup" formula for it to work. Do I select the whole table, one column, etc. I have tried to recreate the screen shot sample but get stumped at the formula placement. I need to graph reading levels from a-z with the y-axis being letters not numbers and this old conversation has created this. I have been searching the web for 4 hours and got no where until I found this discussion and now I am so close...
