My son's Nokia 5230 has happily synced with my Mac since July 2010, however since March we have been unable to sync. Each time we try we get the following message - "Monday, 16 April 2012 16:41 [Nokia 5230] Device is not available or synchronization was canceled. Close dialogs and applications on the phone and try again. Device “Nokia 5230” synchronization failed."

I recently bought a Nokia 3120 classic, I was able to fin a plug in that will replace one of iSync�s metadata.plist list of one of the Nokias, and then it will sync and everything will work fine in Leopard 10.5 Now that I�ve updated to Snow Leopard it just won�t, even if I do the previous proceeding. My macbook paires with the phone, and the phone with the MB, but neither iSync or File sharing via Bluetooth work

Normally it's just a case of getting the plugin and ar she blows but according to the internet the new isync has disabled most of the old plugins. I know I can get them with nova media but I don't really want to spend more money on it... Does anyone know of a method to make plugins work again or know of anywhere I could get one? Actually, while were on the subject, does anyone have a clue why apple updated isync, removed half the phones and disabled loads of plugins for seemingly no reason??? just me and my mad rants

The iCal sync option is turned on in system preferences. Has Apple changed something already in .mac to cause this?

Anyone been able to successfully sync a Nokia E52 phone with the OS X Address Book via iSync? Currently there's no official isync plugin from Nokia, only these two third party ones that I know about:

And this paid one I'd rather not buy without confirmation that it actually works.

"Photoshop CS" and "Acrobat 6.0 Standard" suddenly stopped working in my iMac, apparently after I upgraded it to MacOS 10.6.8 (the latest version of Snow Leopard). Both programs had worked normally until that OS upgrade. I deleted Photoshop CS and tried to re-install it from the original CD, but the installation never proceeds because I get an error message entitled: "Install Adobe Photoshop CS quit unexpectedly". For some reason I'm finding this harder than I should! I'm ticking the check box to tell Address Book to sync with Google, and it accepts my username and password fine. The problem is nothing gets synced. I have a full Address Book but nothing gets moved over to Google Contacts.
View 3 Replies View RelatedApple's new OSX Snow Leopard includes native Exchange email sync using Exchange Web Services but it seems that this does not sync emails in the same way outlook does: emails on Mail.app only update when you open a specific folder on your exchange mailbox (like IMAP does) and not like Outlook on windows where folders are updated in the background. does anyone know about this behavior and if it can be changed on Mail to work in the background? I've only tried this on a developer beta (latest version) of SL briefly and noticed this behavior but would like to get feedback from those that may have upgraded.

How to make the contacts I have through the Mail program sync up or copy over to my Address Book? Speaking of which, does anyone know how to delete contacts from my Mail? When I go to send an email it can populate the send field with previously-written to contacts, but I can't seem to delete some I don't need/use. That's when I found out that my Address Book doesn't reflect the same things which lead me to asking.

My interwebz stopped working!
The airport seems to be working and recognizes the other networks in range, and says that it's connected. When I try to load a page, Safari continues to try and load but eventually says that the 'page can't be displayed'.
I've tried everything - Resetting router, switching browsers, renewing DHCP Lease, toggling airport,etc. It won't even work via ethernet cable from the router. I've read some other people that have had these issues but have not seen any fixes.

I went to use my tablet today, and nothing happens. It shows up in the USB bus list, but when I check the System Preferences under the Wacom icon, it says no tablet is connected. I tried d/l'ing the latest driver from Wacom[a 2010 update for my Intuos], with the same result. Could this havee something to do with the iTunes update that fixed a drag and drop bug?

Time machine has stopped backing up. Under the 'Backing up' progress bar it says that it is scanning thousands of items followed by preparing thousands of items and then cleans up. However, after all of this the latest backup remains the same and no fresh backup is made. I think the problem started when I added a new user restored using time machine (my wife's computer was in for repair and she needed a temporary home!).

I can get sound to play through headphones, but once I up plug them the little sound icon in the menu bar will grey out and I will not be able to get sound to play through the internal speakers.
If I go to the Sys Pref > Sound > Output Pane, it will say "The selected device has no output controls" in the Settings for Selected Device section.
I upgraded my girlfriends laptop to Snow Leopard even though she could care less. Now she's all mad cause the sound doesn't work.

I migrated to iCloud months ago and have been receiving mail on both my Mac and iPhone with no problems until yesterday. I've been on ios 5 and Lion for quite a while and did not update any software in the past few days.Sometime on March 22, mail stopped syncing to BOTH my Mac and iPhone. I also sync gmail to those devices with no problem and I can get my mail through the internet on iCloud.com.
The fact that sync failed on both my devices separately tells me it may be a larger issue?Through Mail on my Mac, I get the following message on the failed sync... The server returned the error: The server "p99-imap.mail.me.com" cannot be contacted on port 993.I've tried deactivating and reactivating, closing and reopening the apps, rebooting and even deleting the mail account on iPhone then reinstalling. I used to be able to sync my iOS devices wirelessly with iTunes. A version or two back, that stopped working. I now have v11.2.2 (3) under OS X 10.9.3..I have tried unchecking, quitting and restarting and rechecking 'sync wirelessly' for each device.
The devices often appear in the leftmost panel when I start iTunes but selecting them causes a progress bar to appear and after 30 secs disappear and the device name is dropped from the list. This worked reliably for many years but stopped some months back after an iTunes update.
I need to re-install iSync in Leopard ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Macbook with OS X 10.6.8 and a 500GB external hard drive, which still has 208.5GB available. For some reason, Time Machine has simply stopped backing up any new files (documents, music, movies--anything). No items are set to be excluded from backups in Time Machine options except for the external hard drive itself. Also, no error messages appear, Time Machine seems to run just fine, but when I enter Time Machine, or look through the files on the hard drive, new files just aren't there. I am not very tech savvy, so I was not able to understand some of the answers people gave to similar questions on here. I did go to Pondini's website and followed as many troubleshooting instructions as I could understand (for example I did manage to do a full reset of Time Machine) but nothing changed. Do I just need to erase the entire backup drive and sart all over? If so, what will prevent this from happening again later on?

All has synced well for quite some time. Last night, I created appointment on iPad and in synced with all. This AM created appointments on iMac and does not sync. I have looked at the calendar in iCloud and new stuff is not there. I have checked to make sure all calendars are turned on and the the iMac calendar in checked in the sync menu.
