I have a Nokia N78 cellphone which I can sync to my Macbook Pro using iSync. This works fine for photos, iCal, contacts but I what I would like to do is to be able to back up and view my sms on my Mac. Does anybody know if there is anyway of achieving this (free if possible)? If not, can anybody recommend a phone (other than the obvious iPhone) that has this syncing capability with Macs? I am looking to update my phone soon anyway.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a Nokia 3120 classic, I was able to fin a plug in that will replace one of iSyncs metadata.plist list of one of the Nokias, and then it will sync and everything will work fine in Leopard 10.5 Now that Ive updated to Snow Leopard it just wont, even if I do the previous proceeding. My macbook paires with the phone, and the phone with the MB, but neither iSync or File sharing via Bluetooth work

Normally it's just a case of getting the plugin and ar she blows but according to the internet the new isync has disabled most of the old plugins. I know I can get them with nova media but I don't really want to spend more money on it... Does anyone know of a method to make plugins work again or know of anywhere I could get one? Actually, while were on the subject, does anyone have a clue why apple updated isync, removed half the phones and disabled loads of plugins for seemingly no reason??? just me and my mad rants

Each time we try we get the following message - "Monday, 16 April 2012 16:41 [Nokia 5230] Device is not available or synchronization was canceled. Close dialogs and applications on the phone and try again. Device “Nokia 5230” synchronization failed."

I'm trying to buy a new refurbish that will ship with Snow Leopard. I'm mainly buying it for the HD, RAM, and physical upgrades.
I have Final Cut Studio and Photoshop and I don't want to pay the $299 upgrade and rather stick with leopard on the new machine.
Is there any way I can uninstall Snow Leopard and install Leopard on the new mac so that I can continue to use my software?
I need to know before I purchase the new one ASAP so i can sell my older machine.
Unfortunately, I installed Microsoft Office for Mac some time ago and seem to be having trouble uninstalling it.

I have problems with my snow leopard server, 10.6.8.
The student folder permissions show that the owner has read & write but the home sync fails. Says the share isn't available.
While I'm really glad that Notes sync between the iPhone/iPod touch and Mail.app, I wasn't aware that they could get mixed in with each other. See the attached screenshot.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMountain Lion won't run on my Intel-graphics dual core white MacBook. Lion should run, but I've been disappointed with Lion and it is now end-of-life (mercifully short). So I've a perfectly fine and responsive Snow Leopard machine. Only problem -- when MobileMe dies in June Address Book on that device won't sync with our iPhone [1].
I know Apple doesn't allow 3rd parties to sync anything to iCloud. So there's no solution that way. One approach is to use a 3rd party app to sync Address Book on this machine with Address Book on another machine that in turn syncs with iCloud.
The easier approach is to go all Google; sync Address Book to Google, set the iPhone to use a Google Apps account. (Ironic that Apple's obsoleting a solid MacBook should drive us to Google.) [1] For various reasons the iPhone syncs to another machine with our family app/media library. So I can't sync Address Book via iTunes.

I have OS 10.7 (latest version) installed on a MacBook Pro, and iOS5 on my iPhone. I recently migrated to iCloud from MobileMe. However, my company still uses OS 10.6.8.
How can I get my Address Book on my work Mac, running OS 10.6.8 to sync with my iCloud account?
How do I set up the iCloud account in my address book? Where is the Contacts server?
And please don't tell me to upgrade to 10.7. That's not an option.

Are there ways to go around it? Like in iCal you can configure the server to p06-caldav.icloud.com.

A few months ago I installed a sync program on my G4 PPC running OSX to try and sync a cell phone I no longer have. It never did work for the phone. So, I found the file under applications and drug it to the trash thinking it was gone. Well it wasn't. Now every time I plug in my ipod it pops up "Sync alert". It wants me to sync my ipod with it but I don't want to. I don't even remember what the program is called, but it does not seem to be showing up in the finder or in the spotlight. I want this program completely gone, I have no use for it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter installing snow leopard I've had constant issues with mobileme, first with data conflicts, after I choose which data I think is correct (I usually guess) it then (sometimes after several minutes) constantly props me for a password. It's constantly saying this:
It says this WHILE LOGGED IN, I've logged out a million times and logged in, the password is correct. After I log out and try to log back in, it also gives me this error.
Is there a command to force time sync on Snow Leopard machines? I have lots machine which are joined to windows domain controller using third party utility (AdmitMac by Thursby). Even though under Day & Time system preference, I have set the machine to sync to our server but machine are still not correcting the time.
I have tried following methods to force the machines to sync: I have manually selected the machine to sych with Apple but that does not change the time at all (even after couple of reboots)Changing the date and time to something completely different (year, month and day) then rebooted machine then force it back to our server but that does not change machine time either.Only thing which has worked so far is that I have manually adjusted that time to match the next working machine. All of this has caused me lot of trouble in Mac labs because machine will not allow anyone to login and I have remove it from the domain and then re-join back.
Ever since I upgraded to snow leopard, address book wont sync with Quickbooks.I reistalled QB, but still wont work, even though QB is set to sync addresses?

I need to either un-install leopard and re-install Tiger, or figure out how to get my ilife back. I don't know how. Changed everything but the serial number. Have 2006 Macbook pro. Came with tiger 10.4.8 and the disks. Worked fine. Then bought a retail DVD of Leopard 10.5.6 installed it , of course I selected install and erase and then lost my ilife and my mind. For three days and nights I have tried to fix this, and I am not a Mac whiz. Tried reinstalling Tiger, pwr up, while pushing C ,d, and T .No go. Says drive won't accept it Tried erasing the Hard drive with disk utility. Won't let me. Tried re-partitioning. No go. Changed everything on the disk utility there. no go Finally I just re-booted with Leopard (works but still no ilife) and got on this Forum.
