View 1 RepliesMy Mail.app has been working fine with my [URL] account for yonks but has now suddenly stopped working. I either get a constant spinner next to the account or a warning sign that says something about bandwidth limits exceeded.
My blackberry gets my email fine, as does Evolution on Ubuntu 10.04. This has been on going for about a week and I've even archived any messages that have lots of pictures in them. Still no luck.
Mail is working with my other google apps accounts for about four different domains but _not_ with my [URL] account.
Quicklook has stopped workingon my MacBook Pro OS 10.6.8. Pressing the space bar on a file yields nothing. Is there a way to update or reset it so it starts working again?

"Photoshop CS" and "Acrobat 6.0 Standard" suddenly stopped working in my iMac, apparently after I upgraded it to MacOS 10.6.8 (the latest version of Snow Leopard). Both programs had worked normally until that OS upgrade. I deleted Photoshop CS and tried to re-install it from the original CD, but the installation never proceeds because I get an error message entitled: "Install Adobe Photoshop CS quit unexpectedly". This is the full error message:Â

Apple Mail stopped working after replacing and restoring the Main Hard Drive in the upper bay. Internet connection is good, and the Mail client troubleshooting (Comcast) was no help. I can start the App, but it does not retrieve or send mail through Comcast anymore. I have a MacBook Pro with the same settings and Mail works fine.

i am using MAIL in mac. i am using a macbook pro and i want to set up my comast.net mail. i set it up before and now its not working. i changed something and now i have no idea what i am doing.
what is the outgoing and incoming, and the port number and all the settings. i have never had this comcast mail working correctly. when i first set it up i would have to "refresh" the MAIL all the time so it would get my mail. i can not recieve or send mail anymore.
I have quite the issue. I just upgraded to Snow Leopard (from Leopard) via USB install disk [thumb drive with Snow Leopard .dmg, Mac OS journaled formatted, GUID...] and everything seems to be working just fine EXCEPT...
My interwebz stopped working!
The airport seems to be working and recognizes the other networks in range, and says that it's connected. When I try to load a page, Safari continues to try and load but eventually says that the 'page can't be displayed'.
I've tried everything - Resetting router, switching browsers, renewing DHCP Lease, toggling airport, etc. It won't even work via ethernet cable from the router. I've read some other people that have had these issues but have not seen any fixes.

I'd really appreciate any feedback you guys have. If you are having the same issue, please post here so we can collaboratively figure this out.
I went to use my tablet today, and nothing happens. It shows up in the USB bus list, but when I check the System Preferences under the Wacom icon, it says no tablet is connected. I tried d/l'ing the latest driver from Wacom[a 2010 update for my Intuos], with the same result. Could this havee something to do with the iTunes update that fixed a drag and drop bug?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a macbook 2,1, the white one. Has anyone else had their regular built in sound just stop working right after upgrading to snow leopard? I can get sound to play through headphones, but once I up plug them the little sound icon in the menu bar will grey out and I will not be able to get sound to play through the internal speakers.
If I go to the Sys Pref > Sound > Output Pane, it will say "The selected device has no output controls" in the Settings for Selected Device section.
I upgraded my girlfriends laptop to Snow Leopard even though she could care less. Now she's all mad cause the sound doesn't work.
my keyboard function keys just stopped working

New mail messages appear in Mail on iCloud but, after working perfectly for weeks have suddenly stopped downloading to Apple Mail on the computer (Snow Leopard). I'm not aware that I've made any change that might produce this result. The same failure has occurred on both my iMac and my MacBook.

A few minutes ago I realised that many of my (many dozens of) Smart Mailboxes in Apple Mail (v4.5) have become corrupted. That is, they all have the same name and have all lost their selection criteria -- putting each one in 'edit' mode, I see that each simply has three selection conditions, all of which are empty. I have a huge backstore of email and use smart mailboxes to organise it all (by client, by job number, etc) in conjunction with MailTags. The MailTags data seems to be intact, so I don't think that's the problem (besides, some of my smart mailboxes that do not draw upon any MailTags-generated meta data are also affected). Â
I have tried restoring the smartmailboxes.plist file from TimeMachine (from a date 2 weeks ago -- and to the best of my knowledge my smart mailboxes were all intact last night).

Running 10.9.3 and having an issues with gmail. Been running our business and personal gmail thru Apple mail for years and never had a issue. We have also just switch over to Comcast High Speed business for internet. The issue is this.....first thing in the morning start up the computer and open up mail. The app runs but no new mail comes in. I check my iphone and I'll have 6-7 new emails. I'll hit "Get Mail" a few times and still nothing happens. Now the strange part. If I send and email to anyone within 2-3 seconds I'll get all of my new emails. For the rest of the day its seems like mail is hanging up "Somewhere". The same thing is happening on 2-3 other macs in my company which are set up the same way.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a network with an Airport Extreme Base Station. I have two Macs connected by ethernet and an Iomega MiniMax hard drive connected to the base station by USB port. I have been running two printers, an HP Laserjet 1012 and Samsung CLP-315, connected by USB cables to the MiniMax hub. This setup has been running fine for several months. Yesterday, with no change in cabling, the printers stopped working. If I try to print to either printer, I get a message saying, "looking for printer..." If I connect either printer directly to the base station, I get the same message. If I connect the printers directly to either computer by USB cable, they both print fine. What can I do to get my original setup back working? I have tried restarting all the various components and reconnecting all the cables. I have checked to make sure I have the latest drivers for the printers.

Today when I tried to connect my charger, the charging light suddenly went out after a few seconds. It's never done this before, and now my computer isn't charging. I looked at several problems that were similar to this, and I've tried everything short of replacing the charger. I followed the link to the article that explains what to do in this situation; I checked absolutely everything on my charger that it told me to, and cleaned off the area around the magnetic pins. I tested the charger in several different outlets, with no results.Â
I also followed the steps to reset the SMC. That didn't work either. Something else that's important to note is that there is an area on my computer between the MagSafe power port and the Gigabit Ethernet port that is damaged. The plastic covering between these two ports had broken off about a week ago, and there is a prominent gap between them. But, my charger was still working just fine before today. Could this damage still have something to do with why my charger stopped working?

It seems that during my afternoon class, I shut down my macbook and then when I went to use it about 10 minutes later the keyboard nor the trackpad works. Now the keyboard/trackpad is not defective as it works via the OSX install cd and it works in Windows Vista (dual booted) When ever I start up OSX it just comes up and the mouse is in the upper left hand corner, and the keyboard doesn't work at all. I have tried a pram reset by pressing command + option + p + r and that did nothing. When I am in OSX the only way to get out is to hold down the power button till the macbook turns off. What else could be wrong is there anything I can do, the nearest Apple store is about 80 miles away so I am trying to avoid that at this point as it seems like a software issue.

Two or three days ago, the topmost line of my keyboard (contains esc, brightness, expose, dashboard, play/pause, mute, eject, etc.) suddenly stopped working. Strangely, some of the keys have switched functions: expose opens a search bar, keyboard dimmer refreshes the webpage, keyboard brighter selects the web address, play/pause is now shows Spaces, skip forward is expose, and sound increase is dashboard. I reset my keyboard, but nothing changed.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had my computer plugged into some external computer speakers (nothing where I had to downlaod any software, I have used these speakers before), and when I removed them, all of a sudden the built in speakers weren't working. I tried to adjust the vollume, but I get the volume image with a little "forbidden" circle and cross underneath. I tried adjusting the settings in System Preferences, but when I got to the audio settings there was only the one "Optical digital-out port". I then updated my computer, but still no luck. Lastly I went to Utilities and to Audio Midi Setup to reset everything to the default settings, but I am unable to adjust everything. It's all that lighter shade of grey that tells me I can't select it.Â

I was charging my macbook. It was charging when I left, upon my return, after about 30 minutes, I found that the light was no longer green. There was no light on at all. I tried restarting multiple times. There are no stuck prongs in my power cord. I tried different outlets. I tested the outlet to verify it worked. My computer will charge fine with other power cords, but just not the one I want it to use? Is there anything else I can try before purchasing a new cord?
