Apr 21, 2012When I try to empty my Trash with a certain app in it I get error code -8003. I can't find reference to that code anywhere and do not know how to clean up the trash. "The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -8003)."

May 18, 2012I have a canon mx700 printer.I just upgraded to snow leopard 10.6.8 and now my printer is no longer working.This is probably the 50th time I have had this problem. It always occurs whenever I update my apple software. I have tried reseting my settings, updating my drives and trying to connect the printer directly into my computer and over my network without any success. Upon resetting my drives I keep getting this error  a communication error has occurred.

Nov 27, 2008I have been trying to backup a few .avi files I have onto DVDs and after reading over the forums I have aquired ffmpegx and Toast 8. I place the avi file into ffmpex, encode it with the dvdffmpeg format. But once i burn it with toast, it takes the original wide screen avi file and stretches it to full screen.
I tried re-encoding with the DVD 16:9 setting selected with ffmpeg and it seems to look better in a preview, but when I try and burn the Video_TS folder in Toast it gives me the CSS Encryption disk error, which I do not understand because I'm not copying a copyrighted dvd.

Dec 5, 2014I am getting this message when I try to open the "messages" on my macbook pro: "An internal Messages error occurred." It doesn't give me anymore information and tells me I have to quit the program and restart. I do so and still get the same response. I have updated to the latest version of Yosemite and restarted the computer. This is a new issue that just arose today when I turned on my computer. I have been using messages, including the new text forwarding feature flawlessly since Yosemite's release and even before that for iMessages with mavericks.

OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Unable To Burn To Blank DVD's
Mar 14, 2012I have a problem with my internal SuperDrive where it is saying that blank DVD's are not writable. When I insert a blank disk the Mac recognises it is a blank disc as the Blank DVD Options box appears but when I actually go to burn a disk the burn will start then immediately fail saying the disk isn't writable. From Disk Utility I get the following info from a blank disk: MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-85J:Firmware Revision:FEW7 Interconnect: [code] It doesn't matter what brand of disk I buy (have tried Verbatim, Bulkpaq, Sony, Tesco & Asda) I get the same issue. All these disks have then worked fine in my girlfriends PC (yuk!) laptop so I don't think it is the disks themselves that are at fault and the fact it is happening with different brands points to a problem with the drive rather than the disks. The drive seems to be working ok as it will play DVD's ok.

OS X :: Unable To Log Into User Account - Error Occurred
Dec 7, 2009Friday, when I tried to enter my computer I have received a log screen. Tried to log but I have received this message "you are unable to log in to the user account "user" at this time because an error occurred" (never happened before). I am sure that the password is correct because the screen doesn't shake, like it happens when I introduce a wrong password. Tried to reboot with "apple S" pressed to go to the root. When I access the directory "Users" I cannot see my user name anymore. Filevault is not activated, never did it. I have very important data from work (my whole year work), I don't have backup and I must not loose it. I was not trying to do an updade or anything, it just happen when I turn on the Mac.
I have tried to do the following things too:
Boot from installation disk #1: Accessed Disk Utility and repaired the disk. There was one error "Mounting of the drive" that was fixed. No other errors found. When I rebooted I got the same message at the login screen. Tried to change the password. I got an error telling me that I don't have permission or an error has occurred. The volume Macintosh HD appears to be ok. Rebooted and still had the same problem.

Oct 5, 2009Toast 10 takes a while to open ... it gets to open after a bit ... I then can add files for it to burn on a dual layer DVD .... but when I press the Burn button ... the program ends up sending me continuous messages of it can not burn and repeats this message in a never ending cycle.

Jul 29, 2009I just registered and just made a video, which I tried to upload directly to Youtube from the "Share" tab in my iMovie program. It appeared to work at first, but keeps saying "An error occurred" and nothing more.
Nothing else happens. The video never uploads. I need to find out why. Btw, I use Mac OS X version 10.5.6. Bought the computer back in March. Would appreciate some help.

Nov 25, 2010Every time I try to export a movie in iMovie or burn a disk in iDVD an error message pops up and says that my startup disk is full. So I bought an external hard drive and backed up my mac using Time Machine. Now I want to delete everything off my mac's internal Hard Drive and use my external hard drive so I can empty my disk. Does this make sense? If so will you please tell me how to do so.

OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Clean Install Garageband, Getting Disk To Slow 10005 Error?
Feb 21, 2012I run a computer business. My customer gave me a white macbook core duo. I upgraded to 2gigs of memory from 512mb. I then purchased a full copy of snow leapard and did a clean install. I setup garageband for the first time. This is all I want to use the computer for. I don't deal with macs in my business. I only work on windows. So, I thought this computer would be nice just to use to setup a small recording studio. I did everything by the book and now when I record I am getting the disk to slow error 10005. This happened after I recorded about five songs. I checked the we and it seems like this error has been around for years with frustration and no resolution. My question is this. Should I just buy another computer or waste my time trying to fix this error. I don't mean that in a bad way. Since this error has been around for so long, I don't to spend all my time working on the computer when I could be recording. What would you do?

Apr 11, 2010I am considering purchasing diskwarrior but want to make sure it can help my situation before I purchase it. My imac will not boot from the internal hard drive (Intel processor) When I use disk utility to try and repair the disk, I get error messages and it won't repair. I can see the HD but cannot repair it. When I connect using target mode with my mac book pro, the hard drive does not appear on my host (macbook pro) computer. I have reloaded OS X (Leopard) onto a firewire external drive and can boot my imac that way but I can not find my original internal Macintosh HD. Will disk warrior be able to help with this scenario. I would really like to access that internal Macintosh HD and retrieve my files.

Jul 28, 2009I am desperately trying to burn a ISO file to a USB and external HD but Disk Utility does not want to. Instead I get the error message "Could not validate source - error 254". So there must be a problem with the source which is the ISO file.
I already tried setting the Partition Map Scheme to both Master Boot Record and GUID Partition Table. I also formatted the drive to FAT and HFS+. I cannot find the cause of this error. It clearly looks like Disk Utility does not like burning ISOs to USBs or HDs.
However, I really really need to this since I cannot burn ISOs with my SuperDrive which is also a common problem [URL]with my MacBook Pro.

I keep getting this error when trying to erase an external hard drive with Disk Utility. When I restart, the error appears again. I've seen others with this problem but haven't found a solution. I've tried removing iTunes from Applications and deleting select iTunes receipts.

May 30, 2009I am trying to burn a 4.2 GB project in iDVD. My project is saved onto an external hard drive, and when I start it burning, I get an error message that says "Not enough free disk space for encoding the remaining assets." It says I only have 825 MB available on my hard drive and 3.362 are needed for encoding, but I actually have 786 GB free! Any idea what could be causing this?

Dec 20, 2009The internal hard drive on my early 2009 iMac is being replaced but I have to reinstall Snow Leopard myself.I did search in MRoogle and at Apple and cannot seem to find instructions on how to perform a clean Snow Leopard install on an iMac internal HD.
Can I do this? And if so how? Or do you think I should try and install Leopard on the existing Hd in the iMac? I still have these discs but have to get the SL applications install disc out of my drive (it's stuck and the iMac won't boot past the blue screen).

Aug 28, 2009I was upgrading from Tiger to Snow Leopard (I asked a worker in the Apple store and he assured me it was okay to do so) and about 15 minutes into the installation I got a message saying "Unable to install. Please retry". Then when I retried it says "The contents of this disk can't be changed. Mac OS X couldn't be installed on this disk."
I have a black MBP and it is Intel based and I fit the system requirements
