I have a 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5 Mac book Pro, I changed the hard disk once, and now when I tried to update it, it always says "An unexpected error occurred" And the only button for me is the "Restart button" (Remember, I always have my Wifi on). Is it because of the hard disk changing or because of something else?

" The error does not appear to happen all the time. It does seem consistent if I am transfering files and then try to transfer more.  Â
The files I am transferring are .mp4. It does not appear to care about the size of the file, it happens with small files and large files, I can transfer some large folders (2.54G). I can connect the hard-drive externally directly to the mac mini and it will transfer any file.
The disc can’t be burned because an unexpected error occurred (error code 0x8002006E). I keeep getting this when I try to burn my daughters wedding pic to a dvd. Â

I am using Mac OS X 10.5.8. I had a program that was working perfectly, I tried to update it. Why? - I dunno myself. Anyway, now I can't open the program. When I try to delete it I get the message "sorry, the operation could not be complete because an unexpected error occurred. (Error code -61)." I made sure the program was "forced quit," but this made no difference at all. I tried to make the files "shares" files and not "locked" files in the "get info" tab, but it still doesn't allow me to delete them. Any idea of how I can get rid of this program now?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I've been trying all weekend to install windows 7 through boot camp. At first, due to a lack of dvds to burn the iso I have, I tried doing the whole usb thing. I got as far as the Legacy Loader screen and could not find a solution. Finally, after getting a couple of dvds I burned the iso and tried to go from there. At first I just got a completely black screen every time I tried to boot from the cd. I tried a lot of the fixed on this forum as well as countless others through which I looked. I reset the PRAM, shut off the computer and disconnected everything including the power plug, waited a while and then restarted, changed the resolution to 800x600. Well eventually I got to the point where I got the black screen but with a blinking cursor.
I waited about 5 minutes and got the this msg: Windows encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer.

Waited like 15 minutes to see if anything happens but nothing. They teased me by telling me that if I pressed enter I could continue but in fact nothing happened. I know the dvd works because I tried it on a laptop running windows and when I popped in the dvd the install menu came up.

What I found was that this behaviour was reset between reboots. That is, sometimes the problem was gone; other times, I would have to restart repeatedly, hoping for a "good boot."In July I found a good boot was hard to find. I was out of town for a month after that. When I returned, there were only bad boots. I tried to update Safari, but "an unexpected error occurred." The next day, the machine chimed on boot, showed the grey Apple plus a progress bar (which never got very far), and turned off. That's all it does now.

Whenever I try to boot, the spinning circle and the progress bar appears on the grey screen, but when the progress bar reaches about 40%, the computer shuts itself down. I started in Verbose Mode and tried AppleJack, and it said my harddisk needs to be repaired; but AppleJack is unable to do that. (Error Messages: "Invalid node structure" and "Incorrect number of thread records) I then tried to startup with both Recovery HD and Mac OS X Install DVD and ran the Disk Utility on both of the startups. At the First Aid tab, I selected my Hard Drive (not the Hitachi one, the Macintosh HD one) and clicked on Repair Disk. The error messages I got from Repair Disk were:Invalid volume file countInvalid node structureThe volume Macintosh HD could not be verified completely.
Error: Disk Utility can't repair this disk..disk, and restore your backed-up files. And, lastly, the following popup message appeared:Disk Utility stopped repairing "Macintosh HD"Disk Utility can't repair this disk. I am getting this message when I try to open the "messages" on my macbook pro: "An internal Messages error occurred." It doesn't give me anymore information and tells me I have to quit the program and restart. I do so and still get the same response. I have updated to the latest version of Yosemite and restarted the computer. This is a new issue that just arose today when I turned on my computer. I have been using messages, including the new text forwarding feature flawlessly since Yosemite's release and even before that for iMessages with mavericks.
