I've been unable to download or update any applications or songs on any of my phones, ipads, or imacs. I just keep getting the messages, "Unable to download application." It's been this way for weeks. What can I do?

A movie I purchased stops downloading almost immediately and the error message above comes up. The rest of iTunes works properly and my internet connection is fine. I was downloading numerous TV episodes before and during while this movie was in the cue without any issues. I've restarted my network and that did not seem to fix it.
I've deleted the movie from the cue and re-downloaded it but still same issue.

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently I had my Macbook pro reformatted back to factory conditions. After downloading all the software updates I tried to log into the iTunes store, but everytime I get the message " We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An Unknown error occurred (-54)"
I am able to connect to the iTunes store itself and look around and preview songs. but I can't log in to my account. I have the latest version of iTunes, and I haven't altered any settings in iTunes, so I'm confused as to why I am receiving this error message.
The other discussions and trouble shooting pages referencing the error (-54) seem to all talk about ipod sync issues or not being able to access the store in general.

my hard drive was wipped clean, and I lost everything. So, I wanted to get all of my TV, Movies and Music back that I bought from iTunes that was not on my iPod. They gave me all of it back. All 872 files. So, now I just had to go to Store-Check for Available Downloads. And I did. Then I entered my password and it said Checking for Downloads... After a while, it came up with an error message saying that it was unable to check for downloads. The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again. I checked and both were good so I tried again. It didn't work. Then I tried again and again and still, nothing.
I rebooted my computer, uninstalled iTunes, restarted my router and still nothing. It won't work on my laptop and it also won't work on my Dad's desktop. So I called Apple and they had me do a DNS flush, still no luck. Then after a while, they said it wasn't iTunes so I should call my internet provider (Verizon Fios) They did all of this stuff, change the readings of my router to avoid 2.4 GhZ thing (I don't know what that means) and they also brought me to [URL] and had me optomize my speed and I did that and still no luck. The guy eventually said that it wasn't my router so I should contact Apple. So know I am here. If anyone could help that would be great. Especially if it's solved by Sunday night because I have a 10 hour bus ride on Monday and I would like to have something to watch on the way there.

Not idea why but the my Aventail VPN client worked before is no longer working now - "Unknown FATAL error occurred. Please see logs and contact your Network administrator."

View 9 Replies View RelatedFriday, when I tried to enter my computer I have received a log screen. Tried to log but I have received this message "you are unable to log in to the user account "user" at this time because an error occurred" (never happened before). I am sure that the password is correct because the screen doesn't shake, like it happens when I introduce a wrong password. Tried to reboot with "apple S" pressed to go to the root. When I access the directory "Users" I cannot see my user name anymore. Filevault is not activated, never did it. I have very important data from work (my whole year work), I don't have backup and I must not loose it. I was not trying to do an updade or anything, it just happen when I turn on the Mac.
I have tried to do the following things too:
Boot from installation disk #1: Accessed Disk Utility and repaired the disk. There was one error "Mounting of the drive" that was fixed. No other errors found. When I rebooted I got the same message at the login screen. Tried to change the password. I got an error telling me that I don't have permission or an error has occurred. The volume Macintosh HD appears to be ok. Rebooted and still had the same problem.
iTunes check available downloads gets stuff I don't want. How do I get rid of it? Whenever I find this one TV show in the downloads list I right click and delete it but it eventually shows up again. How do I get rid of it?

Nothing else happens. The video never uploads. I need to find out why. Btw, I use Mac OS X version 10.5.6. Bought the computer back in March. Would appreciate some help.
