I have an issue making the scan to network function to work between HP LaserJet m1120n multifunction printer and Snow Leopard.Â
Printing is working fine and it was added via IP.Â
I checked the HP site for the instruction, but it does not work.Â

anyone using the same printer/scanner that could give me tips to get this working?
After installing this printer it will scan but with some flaws in the scanned image and it will not print at all.
All that it displays is that there is an error after attempting to print. I'm wondering if there is some special driver that I need?
The printer is about 4yrs old.

I have a Mac Pro which I just upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard. I have an HP Multi-Function 2840 hooked up to the router via ethernet. This printer previously worked through Leopard.
Now, my understanding is that for SL, the drivers for this printer are in the operating system and can not be downloaded from HP.
How do I set this up as a network printer? I would like to be able to print from my other computers in the house as well.
Please Note: Snow Leopard only provides drivers for the printing function of this machine. I am going to have to revert to other means to use this device to scan.
My boss and I are both using Macbook Pro's running Snow Leopard. We have always used IP based network printers for printing. He decided this morning he needed to print to a different printer on the network.When he tried to add the printer on his mac he goes to IP printer, used LPD, and starts to type in the IP address of the printer. It never comes back from verifying the printer. If he forces it, it won't print to it.
Since we are identical configurations I tried it on mine, followed the exact same steps and yet I can add the printer no problem.Any thoughts as to what might be wrong on his Mac? He can ping the printer by IP, he just can't add it. I also checked to make sure he and I are on the same VLAN.

I have just bought a Apple Mac Pro running Snow Leopard yet it does not print on any of the 3 printers connected to the network. The Mac sees the printer but there are no drivers for any of MY printers.
I have a HP 1020, Connon IP4600 and a Lexmark X324n XL all running of a Windows network.
Lexmark 4310 series printer will not print after printing first job after setup. Msg in printer window says printer not connected however the green light is solid on the printer. Lexmark tech support says the issue is with comcast router. Comcast says issue is mac related because both macs fail to print while HP machine works fine....

I'm in need of a new multifunction printer. I'd like it to have Wi-Fi, duplex printing, and a document feeder, but if I can get a wi-fi one really inexpensive, I might be able to do without those luxuries.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been on the phone to HP for days they are blaming my computer but really it doesn't sound right... Brand new iMac, and a brand new CM1312... I have plugged it directly into the back of the computer via the USB the computer sees it and there is no problem with printing... BUT using the HP Scanner software it cannot see the printer via USB... I used the HP Set Up Wizard and when it comes to the screen asking to find the USB or Network printer it can't see it under USB, EVEN THOUGH IT PRINTS VIA USB... Has anyone had this issue before? Am I better off using an ethernet cord?

Quite honestly we don't do a lot of color printing, but I'm so tired of clogged inkjets (can you say Epson) that I'm trying to stay clear of them. A multifunction inkjet would seem appropriate for our situation, but I don't want to have clean printheads once a month. Even if we do get a mutlfunctional laser I still need a a small photoprinter for quick photos prints. My other option is a multifunctional inkjet and then a B&W laser printer. I'm down to Canon and Brother based on the fact both seem to work well with Macs and don't have the bloated software that comes with HP. I can't find any reviews on the Canon lasers since they are relatively new. The Brother machines seem to get good reviews, but quite a few complain about the color prints.

My Laserjet 1020 worked perfectly with a downloaded driver on the MAC OS X but since installing the Snow Leopard it is a no go. Anyone with an idea to make it work would be appreciated. "Plug in your printer, and Snow Leopard makes sure you have the most up-to-date printer driver. If not, it downloads the newest version."....seems to be a mis-statement of facts.

I have an iMac 27" (intel 3.4 GHz, Intel core i7, and 16 GB memroy) purchased a few months ago. It is running the latest version of Lion 10.7.4 I run this computer on our network along with a iMac 24" 3.5years old and a Macbook Pro 2.5year old.Â
This computer seems to have a beef with the Hewlett-Packard printer (HP colour laser jet CM1312nfi MFP) which I have had for about 3 years. I can not get the new computer to work with the printer properly. It allows printing but it pauses all the time when you resume the print it starts printing from the begining of the document againIt will pause any prints sent to it across the network after the first 1 or 2 pages are printedIt won't allow scanning at allWhen you launch the scanner it takes forever to connect (3 - 4 mins)If you try to scan using any of the scan options (if it loads the devise) it then states it can not connect to the device, or all the scan buttons apear but greyed out.This is odd as it will still allow printing??Â
Also, all the other PC's have the same version of Lion 10.7.4 and have the latest HP Driver installed (these were released on the 14 Dec 2011). Other useful infoThe scanner is hard wired to the 27" machineYou can only use the printer if one scanner is hard wired as it does not have wirless capacity.I have uninstalled and installed the software more times than i can count trying all different trouble shooting etcI can only conclued that there is somthing the 27" machine is doing to prevent the scnanner registering properlyNone of the other computers can use the scanner correctly either. As you can only scan a page at a time using the "Scan" button. If I wish to scan multiple pages on with either of the other computers I need to use the "scan to folder" button.Â

My HP Photosmart 3210 all-in-one wouldn't initialize and sent error messages after I installed Snow Leopard yesterday. I went on the HP support network, which gave me a solution that sometimes works and sometimes doesn't, plus in the past I never had to take all the extra steps to scan a photo. The HP support site claims that upgrades for HP Printer devices was included with Snow Leopard. So why can't I just press the scan button like I used to?
View 20 Replies View RelatedI've found out the hard way that Snow Leopard does not support the same printers as Leopard did and now I'm stuck. I spent the better part of the day researching how to get my HP LaserJet 4m Plus to work with the new OS and got nowhere. Can anyone tell me what I can do to get the printer to work with the new OS? The printer may be old but it functions flawlessly and only has about 50,000 impressions made, so it still has lots of life. I have it hooked up via ethernet and the cable is run under the floor to the other side of the office so adapting a serial/USB would not be doable or practical. I don't have the money to blow on a new printer so I would really like to make this work somehow. Any help would be much appreciated.
