I need to buy a new multifunction inkjet printer working with Snow Leopard, which is a good suggestion not the expensive ones, just for home use with good features.
My Samsung ML-2510 stopped working when I installed snow leopard. I've tried the following, after finding others with similar problems (before snow leopard).
1. re-installing the driver from the Samsung website.
2. deleting the printer from the "printer & fax" pref, then adding it again, selecting "print using..." the new driver from the drop down menu.
3. downloading the Samsung Drivers from the apple website
Looking for a multifunction printer that will work with my iMac. I currently have an HP Photosmart 309a, but it is a few years old and I have had fits getting it to work with my iMac.
I'm in need of a new multifunction printer. I'd like it to have Wi-Fi, duplex printing, and a document feeder, but if I can get a wi-fi one really inexpensive, I might be able to do without those luxuries.
I don't need anything with awesome photo capabilities, but would like the wi-fi so I can put it where I want it, not near my MacBook or my router.
I'm looking at HPs (I've used them for the past 10 years), Epson, or Canon. I'm assuming most of them are going to be compatible with Mac OS X, but just would like everyone's input on which model I should get. HP has one for $170, and that's really pushing the high end of my budget, just so y'all know what I'm looking at.
I've set a wireless network and connected my multifunction printer in an AirPort Express. I can access it from my computer to print, but the scanner utility doesn't recognise it. What could be wrong?
I'm trying decide between a Canon or Brother color laser multifunction printer. Quite honestly we don't do a lot of color printing, but I'm so tired of clogged inkjets (can you say Epson) that I'm trying to stay clear of them. A multifunction inkjet would seem appropriate for our situation, but I don't want to have clean printheads once a month. Even if we do get a mutlfunctional laser I still need a a small photoprinter for quick photos prints. My other option is a multifunctional inkjet and then a B&W laser printer. I'm down to Canon and Brother based on the fact both seem to work well with Macs and don't have the bloated software that comes with HP. I can't find any reviews on the Canon lasers since they are relatively new. The Brother machines seem to get good reviews, but quite a few complain about the color prints.
After I installed Java update 8, my Excel spreadsheets and some MS Word features became unavailable. Does anyone else have these problems? Should I uninstall the Java update?
I have a Snow Leopard Install Disk for the 13-inch Macbook Pro model.I also have a 21-inch iMac. I have OS X Lion installed on both. I have Snow Leopard installed as a partition on my Macbook Pro, which I installed via the install disk. I want to do the same thing for my iMac but I am unable due to (seemingly) my install disk is for a Macbook Pro and not for an iMac.
I was wondering if Snow Leopard will work with Kindle 2 if connected to a Mac. Or do I not need to connect it to a Mac because it is wireless? Also, does anyone know if the Kindle 2 will require signature on delivery when shipped and delivered to Canada using Priority International Courier?
I have the very first generation intel core duo macbook pro 2.0ghz Yonah core. can someone confirm snow leopard work/doesn't work for this cpu please? confirm means you install it successfully, or failed to install. I already seen the requirement documentation.
I'm not sure if it's fresh news or old so please don't flame me, I just found out that iStat menus new version (2.0) is released and it has official support for Mac OS X
After upgrading to Snow Leopard a program I need for my job no longer works. The program is Webex. They claim that it should work by opening Safari in 32 bit mode or with Firefox, but neither option works for me. My plan is to reinstall Leopard (10.5) on an extra partition and reboot into it whenever I need to start a Webex session. I don't think this will cause any problem with my Snow Leopard partition, but thought I would check first.

I just upgraded to Snow Leopard (OS 10.6.1). I have an HP DeskJet F4280 All-In-One. It used to work great under 10.5.x, but now it will print fine but not scan.
If I launch HP Device Manager, and double-click Scan Picture, HP Scan Pro window opens, but I get the following error: Sorry, scanner could not be initialized (Scanner not found.).
If I press the hardware Scan button on the top of the unit itself, the power light blinks rapidly for about 10 seconds, then reverts to its normal state, and nothing else happens.
If I launch Image Capture 6.0(424) I get this error: No camera or scanner connected.
Under System Preferences>Print & Fax>Scan a window opens that reads HP Deskjet F4200 series and I click on Scanner, but it says No scanner selected.
However, System Profiler lists Deskjet F4200 series under USB High-Speed Bus, and, as already mentioned, the printer works fine.
After updating, seems that my iSight camera no longer functions. In iChat, the user on the other end had no video from me, nor did I have a preview. In Photo Booth I get nothing but a black screen. The green LED indicator still functions as if the camera was on, but no image at all. I tried zapping the PRAM and resetting the SMU or PMU as well, but with no luck. It acts as if it's functioning properly with the light activating and system profiler recognizes the iSight cam in USB devices.
before you can double click on a word and look up in dictionary with the word looked up already.but now when you double click on word and select look up in dictionary, you have to physically enter the word again
On my system (10.6.8) I can edit /etc/hosts and the changes take effect immediately. The problem is that every time I reboot, my changes are overwritten.

I have an old database file in Apple Works 6 and would like to have it in either an iWorks or File Maker Pro application or even in a Microsoft Office application.
So this problem started yesterday where whenever I try to play a video (youtube,or any other site) neither the sound nor image works, but whenever i make the video fullscreen, everything works perfectly. It's a bit annoying if I want to watch a video or listen to music off youtube whilst doing other things.
I always used the upwards four finger scroll to get to the desktop but after installing Snow Leopard it doesn't work, they hide but then pop back straight away or go into expose mode. Is this a known problem?
Snow leopard antivirus works with mail, safari, ichat, but if i install google chrome will it work with it? I am talking about the built in malware detector that comes with Snow Leopard
