Looking for a Wireless color all in one laser printer, It looks like Brother is the only one that makes it? I also heard you can't scan or fax wirelessly, only print? These three are in the $300-$500 range. Price is not a concern, quality is, as is wireless printing if possible or at least attached to my Time Capsule. Which would you choose, or would you recommend something else? - HP Color Laser All in One CC431A#A2L - Brother Wireless All-In-One Laser Printer (MFC7840W)- Canon Color imageCLASS MF8050CN Multifunction Printer
I have a wireless network that includes a printer, a pc, and my MacBook Pro. When I go into system preferences and printers the wireless printer does not appear in the list. What do I need to do to add this wireless printer to my MacBook Pro?
Info:MacBookPro, iOS 5.1.1 When I go into system preferences and printers the wireless printer does not appear in the list.
I just added a Time Capsule to my network and my printer was working fine this morning. Now Lion says it is not connected and when I attempt to download the software from Apple it says it's not available at this time.
I'm trying to add my printer, a HP Color LaserJet 2600n, to my MacBook Pro running OS X Lion via local wifi. However, the MacBook can find the printer, but somehow not connect with it; it's shown as inactive or just does not print.
There might be a problem with the driver (as in the beginning there were some pop-up warnings shown concerning this issue); I already downloaded the latest drivers manually (because Apple could not find them directly).Â
Is there even a way to use such an "old" printer? Are the drivers compatible with Lion?
Info: MacBook Pro (15-inch Late 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.3)
Since upgrading to Mac OS X Snow Leopard my computer does not recognize my printer (HP Color LaserJet 2600n) nor will it print. What can I do? I can't afford another printer already.
My current setup is an AirPort express with a PIXMA iP8500, if I grabbed a LaserJet 1020, could I plug a USB hub in the AirPort Express, and network them both at once?
I'm finding myself having to print notes and articles more than I used to and I decided it's time to look into a color laser printer. I'm looking for something with modestly priced toner, a relatively small footprint, doesn't require a lot of power, prints double-sided, and that plays nice with mac. Looks like samsung, hp, and brother offer some nice choices, just not sure where to start.
I'm brand new to this forum, and Mac's as a whole. I'm trying to connect our new MacBook Pro to a HP Photosmart C4680 printer through a wireless network that we purchased yesterday. Both the MacBook and printer were purchased through at the Apple store.
Here is our setup:
HP printer is shared, but is connected via USB to a Dell desktop. I have successfully been able to print from my Dell laptop through our home's wireless network. Both the Dell desktop and laptops are on Vista.
I am recently bought my mother a macbook and everything has been going great except for one thing. Everytime we turn it on I notice that we are on another wireless network that isn't hers. I looked in the Internet Network System Preferences but I couldn't find anything. How to change the default wireless network in Mac OS X.
I have a home wireless group with a pc desktop and hp1200 printer. I have been unable to connect my macbook pro (0SX 10.6) to either. I am able to log on to the home wireless network. And my pc laptop can access the printer and desktop files.
I've been reading through some of the other MBP wi-fi issues but couldn't find anyone discussing what I'm dealing with so I wanted to put this out there. Â
I got a MBP earlier this week and, it seems like after powering down or shutting the MBP and reopening it, my wi-fi network at home shuts down or isn't recognized. When this happens, I have to unplug my airport extreme and turn the internet on and off on my cable router so the wi-fi signal can be recognized on my wireless devices. It's not just the MBP (running Lion 10.7.3) that can't find the wi-fi when this happens; my MacBook (running OSX 10.5.8), my TV with wi-fi and my wife's iPhone lose their signals also. The airport extreme and my cable router still are showing that they're running when this happens (green light on airport).Â
It only seems to happen when the MBP has been powered down or closed. Not sure if it has something to do with the airport extreme router that's in the MBP. It doesn't seem that anything is actually turning off the airport extreme but none of the devices can recognize the wi-fi signal after this happens. Turning off and on the airport from either of the computers doesn't seem to do anything. It requires a reboot to the airport.Â
how to install Canon Printer MX340 (Wirless connection)Â
I am using Canon Printer MX340, My Mac OS is 10.7.3. I can't install this printer via home network. Even i install original installer from canon, keep asking me what is printer administrator password.Â
I have a Netgear wireless router that is about 4 years old and has the latest firmware installed. Until now, I have had only Windows computers connected wirelessly and it has worked fine. We just got a new Macbook. When I try to connect to our network, it finds the network name but goes nowhere once I have entered the passphrase. Not being familiar with Macbooks I'm not sure what I'm missing. I did see somewhere that older versions of Airport required either a '$' preceeding the password or that the password should be enclosed with "". None of these things helped. What am I missing?
By the way, according to the Netgear docs, this router should work with Macs.
Tried googling this with no luck. I'm new to the mac/laptop world. My new mac keeps picking my neighbor's network over mine. It (obviously) fails to connect to the neighbors router coz password is required. I then have to scroll down a list of networks and instruct my computer to connect to my router. Is there a way to simplify my life...
We have a PC in the upstairs office with cable/DSL router for Internet (through Comcast). This service also has a wireless connection. We have a Macbook laptop which connects effortlessly to our home network and we use it all over the house. We simply clicked the internet symbol on the top right (looks like a little amphitheater), selected out network, entered the password and have been connected ever since.
Today we brought home a new iMac and set it up in basement office. Tried the same routine. Clicked on the internet symbol, selected our network, noticed that the signal is just as strong as it is upstairs, typed in password but that's as far as we get.
I've gone the rounds with the Assist and the Utility features. I've shut the Airport on and off. I've tried setting up a new network. I do notice that the iMac has a "self-assigned" ISP "and cannot connect to the Internet." Does this mean I can't ever connect? Do we need to replace the self-assigned ISP with our Comcast IP address?
I've read here and there that our router might have Macs blocked and we could add this iMac as a secure system to get on the network. But we haven't played with the router's settings because we wouldn't know how. Besides, the Macbook connects fine.
I've been trying all day to get my new wireless printer to find my wireless network. No joy.
I have an airport extreme router connected to an AT&T 2WIRE modem. The guys that installed the AT&T stuff recently said I normally wouldn't need the airport extreme because the 2WIRE serves as both modem and router, however it does not work with an airport express, which I have in another room to boost the signal. So when the printer looks for the (SSID) network, it sees my apple network, which is what my macbook and windows vista laptops also see and connect to. After that, I'm entering the wireless network key from the 2WIRE.

I tried to set up a home share between mine and my girlfriend's MacBooks. It worked okay both ways, but then I disconnected my ethernet cable and the connection dropped.
I started fiddling around and discovered that home sharing only works as long as any one of the two computers is connected to the router with a cable. The other one can be connected wirelessly. But it won't work if both are wireless at the same time.
My wi fi iPad works fine on wireless home network but the Mac will not connect to internet even through airport diagnostics shows connectivity ok, how can I resolve?
I am running Win XP Pro, and my wife is running OSX with the printer connected to that via USB. How do I allow my comp, running Boot Camp, to see the printer connected to her comp?
I bought an Epson C2800N which is a network laser printer. It is connected to my router with "ethernet" cable. I am able to connect to my printer over cable connection (when i have my MPB network connection with "ethernet" cable) but when I use the wireless connection (airport) I can't connect to my printer. It happens with my MBP17 and my bro's MBP15'.
Question: Can a wireless printer 'join' an Airport Express Network? The printer in question is not near my router, can the printer join the network wirelessly so that I can print w/o a USB connection?
I am a new intern with a small company and am trying to connect my Macbook Pro's printer settings to our office printer, which is a LanierLD145. We halso have an HP3600 on the same wireless network which my Macbook can detect and print to just fine via the shared network server. However, when I try to find the LanierLD145 I can't find it anywhere on my shared network or via a wireless to connection in order to print to it from my laptop.
I have access to the desktop I believe the printer is routed to the server through and have "shared printer with network" via this computer. However, I still cannot find the LD145 icon on my macbook when I try to connect and print, even when going through the "Windows"-> (shared server) route. I've also installed apple's "general lanier printer driver" in hopes have luck finding the printer if I have the driver installed, but that has not worked either. How I can connect the macbook to the LanierLD145 via my wireless server connection?
