Before I install SL, I was wondering if anyone actually got their 1020 to work.
My Laserjet 1020 worked perfectly with a downloaded driver on the MAC OS X but since installing the Snow Leopard it is a no go. Anyone with an idea to make it work would be appreciated. "Plug in your printer, and Snow Leopard makes sure you have the most up-to-date printer driver. If not, it downloads the newest version."....seems to be a mis-statement of facts.

Assign applications to spaces. Assign an application to any space from its icon in the Dock with a click. Quickly spread your work out in different spaces by assigning an application to a space right from the Dock. Just right-click the Dock icon and select a space for the application. I cannot find this feature in the latest build.

I have a cable modem plugged into a time capsule in another room, and I use a mac mini to connect to that via wifi. I am trying to share that internet connection with a couple of devices from the mini's ethernet port. I have the mini plugged into a dlink switch along with the other devices, but none of those devices can connect. The mini works fine, and I made sure in sys prefs I have internet sharing checked and it says from airport to ethernet. Can the mini only provide connection to one device? Should I be using something other than a switch?

It's driving me nuts.It's most disfunctional with Safari--for example when I'm trying to find a specific webpage in the Histor-- if I don't keep moving the cursor constantly, whatever URL the cursor happens to be over will just open and load.Then I have to start over again. This seems to happen sometimes on the desktop as well.

I know that Leopard can be installed using the remote disk feature since my MBA doesn't have a DVD drive. problem is that I can't find anywhere saying that SL will support that function. Although I did see that the minimum system requirements require a DVD drive, but it doesn't say anything about a remote drive.
I'm sure it would be stupid if it wasn't supported, but then again you can't installed XP without the SuperDrive.
I have seen some people talking about a new feature in Snow Leopard, where hovering over MP3s or PDFs allowed you to preview the file. I am not seeing this feature on my Snow Leopard machine. How do you enable it?

I'm trying to add my printer, a HP Color LaserJet 2600n, to my MacBook Pro running OS X Lion via local wifi. However, the MacBook can find the printer, but somehow not connect with it; it's shown as inactive or just does not print.
There might be a problem with the driver (as in the beginning there were some pop-up warnings shown concerning this issue); I already downloaded the latest drivers manually (because Apple could not find them directly).Â
Is there even a way to use such an "old" printer? Are the drivers compatible with Lion?

I've recently acquired an old HP LaserJet 6P printer. I've successfully connected it to my MacBook (10.5.8) using a Parallel-USB Converter Cable and Gimp-Print drivers - it doesn't have a built-in USB port. What I'd like to do now is connect the LaserJet to my Airport Express to allow me to print wirelessly. Has anyone done something similar to this before? Has it worked? I'd like to get advice first so I don't end up wasting hours and banging my head off a wall trying to get this to work.

All other members can get in by entering wep key when they choose the wireless router but when we input the wep key to apple laptop airport I think we get connection error. Key is definitely right. What changed in the apple setup other than the wep key, again when signal was unsecure laptop safari worked fine. The linksys is a B about 3 years old.
