Hardware :: Downloading CanoScan LIDE 100 Software To My Mac?

Apr 24, 2010

I have my partner's CanoScan LIDE 100 scanner and was wondering if I could download the software onto my MacBook Pro. He was strictly a pc user and I don't know if this scanner only works with pc's. I tried a download from CNET but only got one of those txt downloads rather than the actual software.

Intel Mac :: Canon LiDE 30 Not Seen?

I have a Canon LiDE 30 which works perfectly well with my Windows box but does nothing at all when I plug it into the iMac. I've not loaded anything like the Canon scanner toolbox, and I can't find anything relevant on a search apart fromn some pre-Lion stuff. I don't know enough yet about my iMac to fiddle

MacBook Pro :: Using Canon LiDE 210 And OSX 10.7.4?

Jun 15, 2012

I am getting nowhere with installing the Canon LiDE 210 scanner software on my 2010 MBP. All I get when I try to scan is "insufficient memory". I can scan using Image Capture and with the trial VueScan software so the problem looks as if it is something to do with the Canon software or the way that it installs on the MBP.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Canon LiDE 210 Insufficient Memory With It

Jun 14, 2012

My LiDE 210 scanner which has worked in the past using OSX10.7 but it now says "insufficient memory" each time I launch MP Navigator EX 4.0. open MP Navigator and select 'View and Use', where it says 'Specify the scanned location', select a different scanner location to see if this resolves the issue. I am unable to do this as I get the "insufficient memory" message immediately I double click on the Canon software. If this did not resolve the issue, they recommended uninstalling and re-installing the latest drivers, which I have done but with no solution to the problem. I haved repaired permissions, checked printers in the library and there does not seem to be anything missing or conflicting. I cannot find any reference to TWAIN in the Library and finally the basic scanner functions are available using Image Capture.

Applications :: Canon LBP3000 Driver For OS X

Mar 22, 2006

Canon advertises this printer as having ONLY Windows drivers, however there is a solution if you are interested in buying the printer (I bought one for around AUD150, delivered in Melbourne). As reported in Macosxhints here there is an OSX driver for the Canon LBP3000. Go to the linked Canon page (which is in Japanese) then scroll to near the bottom of the page for links to the driver (MXCAPT160). Download that and install it. Edit: The printer dialogue (when you attach it) is then in English. It doesn't offer all the options available in Windows (mainly output quality & economy modes) but is fine for straightforward printing to A4, letter, legal, A5, A6 and a couple of Japanese envelope sizes (Yougata-4 approximates DL).

Could you give me any advice about how to do this?

OS X Yosemite :: No Driver Found For Canon Bjc-85?

Dec 9, 2014

I recently obtained a 2013 Macbook air 13" and upgraded the os to Yosemite. I plugged in my travel printer, Canon BJC-85 and there is no driver compatible. The mac recognized it as plugged in but under the list of available installed drivers there is nothing that will work with it.

I tried to do a software update but it says my system is already up to date. I went to the canon website and it said mac OS X already has the drivers.

I used this printer on another mac OS X laptop and it had the drivers already like it should.

I have tried the basics - turning off and on the printer, rebooting the MacBook Pro, printing from different applications, making sure Job Accounting is not checked in setup, seeing that the driver seems like it's acknowledged, checking and unchecking sharing prefs.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Canon LBP6000 Print Driver - No Printer Appears In The 'add Printer' Section?

I was having problems printing from my Canon LBP6000.  Print jobs remained held in the queue.  I uninstalled and reinstalled the Mac CAPT Ve r340 driver from Canon's website, no improvement. The printer works fine with my Windows laptop. I found an option to remove all printers from the Print preferences section. I can't remember how I did this, but all printers were removed.  I reinstalled the above driver, but now in the 'print & scan' - 'add printer' section, I have no printer options.  And no idea how to get printer options.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Unable To Add Canon MX870

Mar 23, 2012

Here's what's going on:

I'm using OS X 10.7.3. I'm in System Preferences > Print & Scan. I click the + to add my Canon MX870, which is connected to my wireless network. I select it under "Nearby Printers". It says:

"Software for this printer is available from Apple. Would you like to download and install it?"

I click "Download and Install". When the progress bar reaches the end, it says:

"The software for this printer is currently unavailable. Please contact the printer's manufacturer for the latest software."

So. I download the latest driver from Canon (version 10.51.2.0) and install it. I go back to add the printer, and I get the same message.

I then download the latest printer software from Apple (version 2.8, which includes MX870 series drivers version 10.51.2.0) and install them. I go back to add the printer, and I get the same message.

So. Instead of selecting it under "Nearby Printers", I choose "Add other printer or scanner", which brings up the "Add Printer" dialog box. My printer shows up as a "Bonjour Multifunction". I select it and "Print Using" defaults to "MX870 series". It says "The selected printer software is available from Apple. Click Add to download it and add this printer."

So. I click "Add". It goes through the motions again, eventually bringing me back to this:

"The software for this printer is currently unavailable. Please contact the printer's manufacturer for the latest software."

All of the Bonjour settings are ON in the printer settings.

Using the Canon utilities still brings me to the "Add Printer" dialog box. How can I add this printer??
