I can't install a printer on my iMac. When I go through system prefs, add printer, it sees the printer and manages to make it to looking for installable options then that window just hangs. I can use the computer, but the window stays and it never actually installs the drivers, i'm using a wireless connection. The same thing happened before with a previous Epson printer connecting by USB. In the end I managed to connect it to my Macbook.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was having problems printing from my Canon LBP6000. Print jobs remained held in the queue. I uninstalled and reinstalled the Mac CAPT Ve r340 driver from Canon's website, no improvement. The printer works fine with my Windows laptop. I found an option to remove all printers from the Print preferences section. I can't remember how I did this, but all printers were removed. I reinstalled the above driver, but now in the 'print & scan' - 'add printer' section, I have no printer options. And no idea how to get printer options.

Has anyone got a work around for the Canon IPF500 printer.
I need to get this working, but waiting for new driver to be released from Canon.
Anyone know any temporary fixes?
I had trouble with my printer before and I did everything from resetting it to the LAN setup, enabling bonjour, and when I enable bonjour on the printer, it worked the first time. But now months later, when I try to print, it says, 'communication error'. I deleted the printer and tried adding it again using the system preferences, printer&fax, then pressing the '+' button to add the printer but for some reason, the printer doesn't show up.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'v been running Leopard on my wife's MacBook Pro since we got it in May. We have a Canon MF4150 attached to it via USB and have been sharing it out from the Mac. I have been using Bonjour and have been printing just fine from both my XP machine and my daughter's Vista machine. I just upgraded to Snow Leopard. I upgraded the drivers to the Snow Leopard compatible drivers from Canon and everything prints fine from the Mac. However, whenever we try to print from one of the Windows machine I get this popup on the Mac: "Canon UFR II Printer Driver key value specified for ticket does not exist.: 15512" And the printer is now "paused" whatever that means. When I try to unpause it, I get that some popup error. I end up having to delete the printer and re-add it to get printing (from the Mac) working again. I've deleted and re-added the printer many times. I even went to far as to remove the drive on the Mac manually (according to Canon's directions) and reinstall. I've deleted/recreated the printers on Windows using the Bonjour wizard.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have installed the Canon MP380 printer driver for my new imac but I cannot find it listed under the Canon model name in Printer Setup. All I see are "gimp beta" this or that. When I try to print the text is too small. It's not filling up the standard size piece of paper I am printing on. What am I doing wrong here??? This is very confusing.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Canon MF8380 had been working fine with my MacBook Pro (printing wirelessly), and all of a sudden today I am getting an error that says: "Canon CMFP Printer Driver: Printer is not responding. Check the printer power and connection, and then try sending printing job again."
I have tried the basics - turning off and on the printer, rebooting the MacBook Pro, printing from different applications, making sure Job Accounting is not checked in setup, seeing that the driver seems like it's acknowledged, checking and unchecking sharing prefs.

I have just bought a Apple Mac Pro running Snow Leopard yet it does not print on any of the 3 printers connected to the network. The Mac sees the printer but there are no drivers for any of MY printers.
I have a HP 1020, Connon IP4600 and a Lexmark X324n XL all running of a Windows network.
I have a 3.06 Intel Core Duo iMac and a 253 Intel Core i5 Macbook Pro. Both are running 10.6.8. They have until recently successfully shared my HP C8180 All in One Printer, the iMac being connected to the printer via USB and to a Netgear Router via Ethernet and the Macbook Pro being linked to the router wirelessly.
Having just updated the HP Drivers via software update on both machines the Macbook Pro is no longer able to connect to the printer via the iMac wirelessly and the printer is not reported as being "Nearby". It does however connect via the iMac if it is connected to the router via Ethernet !
Printer sharing is on on the iMac, I have tried removing the printer from both machines Preferences and re-instating them (which coincidentally has meant I have lost the connection to "Lightscribe" and can't get it back on either machine !) I've tried installing the latest HP Software to try and get the Macbook pro to connect to the printer directly via the router but witth no success - it reports that some of the HP software is not compatible with 10.6.8 despite HP saying it is for 10.6.
how I can get the laptop to print in the way it did up until earlier today and how to get "lightscribe" back?
I have a canon mx700 printer.I just upgraded to snow leopard 10.6.8 and now my printer is no longer working. This is probably the 50th time I have had this problem. It always occurs whenever I update my apple software. I have tried reseting my settings, updating my drives and trying to connect the printer directly into my computer and over my network without any success. Upon resetting my drives I keep getting this error a communication error has occurred.

I finally got around to installing Snow Leopard this weekend. After installing it, I get the following error message when trying to print to a Canon MP620. Tree connect failed (NT_STATUS_BAD_NETWORK_NAME) I then downloaded new drivers from Canon but still get the same error.
I am using a wired connection on the printer and the iMac. The printer still works on a separate XP machine.
I am unable to install a software driver for a Canon film scanner FS4000US. I have downloaded it from Canon then open the package click the install and it asks for a location namely the Applications folder. Then it says it has been installed re -start etc, but still no driver.I am using Mac OS 10.6. Any suggestions greatly received. I have repaired/disk and permissions and it still does not work.

I need to install the Canon MP520 printer to my MBP. The printer is connected to another a PC running windows and is shared. I installed the OSX driver provided on the Canon page, I can see the printer in the network printers but when I am asked to choose the driver I can't see the correct model listed. On the other hand, if I simply connect the same printer via USB, to my MBP it is recognized directly. When I'm asked to provide the driver while adding the printer via the network, there is also the option to browse to the driver location. So my question is, where are the can I find the right driver on the OS?

I have a Konica Minolta Bizhub C350 (photocopier/printer). It connects via network to my airport express. All five of my Macs found it using Bonjour under Leopard.
I installed Snow Leopard on all five Macs, and now, none of them have the printer in their list of available printers. This is an older printer, however far too expensive to replace.
Any idea of how to get Snow Leopard to discover it again? I noticed that when I click on the printer preferences, and attempt to add it again, there isn't even a Bonjour option.

For whatever reason, when I installed Snow Leopard it did not automatically install the updates for the printer drivers already installed in my computer.
I then tried to manually install the printer drivers using the SL disk and still no luck. The printers that I use are both wireless and work when they are connected with USB. Am I missing something? I'm reading all over about how people have made the upgrade with no problems at all so I'm there's got to be something I'm not doing.
I'm an IMac newbie, so please excuse me if this is "old" information. However, I've done a lot of searching and can't find a "simple" solution. Maybe there isn't one. Again, please excuse me if this is dumb...Just got a new 27" IMac. I have a Dell AIO 966. I know now there is no OEM driver. But, I thought there was a Lexmark driver model (that might show up in the OX 10 install process I could substitute, or a Generic driver. So far, no luck. And frankly, some of the things I am reading when I search are either old, old posts or too complex for me.
Is the simple answer, "get a new printer?" Or, is there a usable driver loaded into OS X? Is there a thread or post that I am missing?
Cannot communicate with the printer, or the printer is not supported. If the printer is supported, check the printer connection and add it again. Then, if the Print dialog box has a [Printer Info] button, acquire the printer information.: 10322

I am very new to Mac (two weeks now) and I was having the smoothest of installations of my new Canon MP990 AIO printer. I carefully followed the instructions, went to Canon's website to get the proper drivers for this printer (because the disc does not have software for 10.6). My wireless network found the printer no problem. Heck even the MacBook found it and installed it no problem...or so I thought. Every time I try and print I see "No Printer Selected" and then when I try and repeat the step of selecting my new Canon it says you already have this printer set up and is asking would I like to set it up again. I can't seem to find where the printer software is even installed on the MacBook. Afterwards I tried installing the CD on my PC laptop. Just as with the MacBook, smooth and easy install...easier because I didn't have to download. Anyhow the PC is printing really easy. I am disappointed because all the reviews I read about this printer made it sound like a monkey could get it going. I've spent over two hours and not feeling very good about being dumber than a monkey.
