Jun 22, 2012These old eyes really need bigger fonts on my beautiful MacBook Pro. It is so easy to do in Windows. Why would it not be possible with my MacBook Pro? All the menus, tabs, icon titles, etc. fonts need to be bigger. It is not ergonomically correct to have to sit so close to my MacBook Pro.

IMac :: Any Possibility To Increase Font Size On System?
Dec 29, 2010I'm new to IMac and I did a quick search and found nothing. I got an IMac less than 24hrs ago. With the IMac I find that I struggle to read things even with my glasses on. Is there any possible way of changing the system font so I can make it larger? Trying to read things on the imac is actually giving me a headache because my eyes are straining so much.
I'm using FireFox which is great because once you make the page larger (cmd & +) it remembers so when you go back there the page is still large and readable but things like the toolbar is unreadable. Some sites I've been on even with the page zoomed in some of the writing remains tiny and unreadable. I have the 27" IMac and to have the toolbar font so small on such a big screen seems very silly to me because it's unreadable.
OS X :: Dock Icons Missing - System Fonts Changed
Jan 3, 2011All of a sudden I restarted my computer and the dock didn't show up and the fonts for the clock and battery were different. The widgets also would not show up. Also missing was some of the icons for random programs (applications, illustrator, pictures etc.) I am thinking I might have deleted some of the systems files? In safe mode the dock and widgets work and the fonts are correct however the icons are still missing.

Jan 8, 2011Seagate Free Agent drives, I couldn't find a post among the hundreds readily and I need sleep. Last night, my drive stayed on, lights and all, all freaking night long. I turned off my Mac, but nothing changed. The light stayed on. It was like living in an apartment above Time Square on New Year's Eve. I finally unplugged the damn thing. I was hoping it would fix itself overnight, but it didn't. It seems to be doing a good job of backing up with time machine, but the *(^%$ light won't turn off.

Aug 9, 2009I am new to the "mac world" ... just got my first macbook about a week ago so this question may have a very simple answer or it may not.
The issue I have is that in System Preferences, "Universal Access" has a bigger font size than any other window under S. Preferences. Nothing is affected, everything works well, but it just bothers me, is there any way to fix this?
I am attaching a screen of Universal Access compared with a window of normal font size.

Aug 14, 2010Has anyone figure out how to stop that annoying loop in system preferences that says settings have been changed??I can get out of it by a two handed click on the OK button and locations but then it just comes back. I don't want to delete all the info on there and have to retype in.I'm only finding old posts back in 2008 on this! Am I that far behind??I was hoping a permanent easy fix has been found by now. May 22, 2012I bought my first IMac last month. I changed my access password yesterday and now I can use my computer. It does not like the password I am typing. It asks me to get a Recovery Key. I have contacted Apple support and they told me to do a Recovery using the Command key and R at the beginning of the session. I have done that and it brings me back to the unlock my system with a password. How do I get a recovery key to unlock my system?

Apr 3, 2009My girlfriend changed the user's name and the problems started (iMac wouldn't remeber system settings and denied access to some files and catalogs). When I wanted to fix the problem I probably made a mistake and changed the access settings of some files (finally even hard disk's settings). After this action my iMac doesn't start (the screen is white with the apple logo and nothing happens). Is there anybody who knows what to do now?

Aug 1, 2009I just got some internet going again after having moved. I've had my new Octopus for a few weeks tho. So much to my surprise, I open up my gmail account and it's practically unintelligible. Some weird cartoon like font is my default font. As far as I can tell, all the default fonts are activated and all the settings point to the activated fonts, but this is driving me absolutely F__KING bonkers. Has anyone ever had this problem? Now to be fair, I did install some fonts from a semi questionable font disk a week or two ago, so maybe some rogue font has hijacked my web fonts.
