I got my MBP only a couple of days ago , but noticed that my Calendar and Accuweather widgets seem to have changed the font style.The numbers are hollow, instead of solid, which makes it hard to read. Is this normal, and is there any way to change it?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have 4 weather widgets (the standard one that came with OS X). And after a restart, some of them have gone up a bit, or down. So as you can imagine with 4 of them, it can get unorganized if I don't move them back to their original positions.

So when I pull up my weather widget, it tells me Toronto KS, but I need Toronto ON. I did look for a button that may say edit, but so far no luck.

Not only that, but I can hear thunder, see lightning and judging by the very dark shade of the clouds around my house, I can pretty much say it's damn sure about to start pouring. What I'm getting at is that this widget has shown nothing but sunshine all day and all night tonight. The temperatures seem to be close, but that's about it. Just curious if anyone else noticed any inaccuracy with this Accuweather widget.

The Weather Channel says that it's sunny, Yahoo says it's sunny, but AccuWeather.com says it's raining. Can I change it to use another source?

Anyone with the WWDC build or the newer build. The fact that my iPod touch (weather.com / yahoo) weather app and OS X dashboard (AccuWeather) never match is kind of annoying.

I know there are some other threads on this, but none seem to have a definitive answer. So this issue happened on my previous MacBook Pro with Leopard and then again with Snow Leopard. Now, it's happening again on my brand new 27" iMac. Every time I restart and bring up the dashboard, my weather widget loads and then jumps down a quarter of an inch or so on the screen. How can I stop this from happening and why hasn't Apple fixed this after 2 years?

View 15 Replies View RelatedThis is a very specific problem that I'm sure other 17" MBP users have. I bought a 17" uMPB a few weeks ago and after a fair amount of use I am started to get a bit of eye strain from trying to read the text on the screen. I understand that the text size (as well as palettes, other windows, etc.) are smaller because they are taking up the same number of pixels on a higher dpi screen (I believe the WUXGA MBP screen is 136 dpi). So it makes many things difficult to read. I have tried TinkerTool to increase font sizes.
But many things in the system appear to remain unchanged and things such as dialog windows are still very small. I really want to increase the size of the text globally but there doesn't seem to be an easy solution. I would not consider lowering my resolution simply because I want to be able to view my pictures and high def videos at native screen resolution. Is there an easy solution to this? Please don't post things like "just zoom in by holding ctrl and scrolling" because I know that exists, but that's a workaround. These are my google findings for my problem. [URL]

But there is nothing there but a greyed out : You can only read
There are No boxes to check or uncheck, No options to change to read and write, No name of owner or ignore ownership box. NOTHING ELSE IS THERE

I have an external Transcend HD, which has been working perfectly fine for around 5 months now. It is NTFS, and I use NTFS-3g and Macfuse. Been running fine. Was able to read and write. Suddenly I am only able to read though. I go into the "Get Info" pane and the option to choose whether I want to read and write, or read only is gone, and all that it says is "You can read only". getting this back to read and write is really appreciated. I really need this disk.

I am receiving emails every time my wife makes a change to her calendar which I am subscibed to. This did not happen before we recently upgraded our phone software, maybe thats involved, maybe not. I have checked and it appeears all of the boxes are unchecked that say "send email when there's a change". She is making the changes on her Macbook Pro.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been using this MBP since 2007, and, it's starting to fail me. I was using an external hdd on it since the internal one crashed, and, then the external one crashed. I just purchased a 250gig hdd which fits perfectly in my Macbook, but, now I have another issue that's been pressing me for some time that didn't bother me at all until now when I need to install Snow Leopard;
My Super Drive isn't reading discs at all, and, it's making this scary crackling noise. I uploaded a video on youtube of me putting 2 discs in it, 1 with content (World of Warcraft: The Frozen Throne) and the other without content (Just a blank CD).
Before I link the video, I'd like to note that I am apparently amazed by the laser seeing as how I point to it and make a note of it ._. URL
How can I change the default size font that is shown when I try to read an email in Outlook 2007? I know you can hold shift+mouse scroll button, but that is not the answer since it does not save the size you select. I want it to be saved a certain size and always open that size by default.
