View 8 RepliesMy home page on MacBook Pro is NY Times. The home page does not fill the space. There are white space margins of approximately 1 inch on both sides of the page. Shouldn't the home page fill the entire space with no white empty margins? How to correct?

Due to a HUGE misundesrtanding, my dad erased my external HD!! But not only that... he cleaned it and made a zero fill!!! Is there any way I can recover my information? Is there maybe any way I can undo the zero fill?
I started to watch movies by renting or buying from itunes and I realized that some movies don't fill the whole screen.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just bought my new mac mini 2.53 C2D. And I love it! I have eye tv 3 hooked up and it runs flawless. I tested it all out with my imac to make sure that my wife could use it and would ok the purchase.
The only thing I am kinda sad about is the fact that the display does not fill the screen without overscan on. But if I have overscan on the top bar does not show.
I new about this with my imac but was reassured it was because my imac was 16X10 and that the mac mini would not have that problem. I have a samsung DLP that only does 720p which I am fine with.
Any Ideas to fill the screen? Also 1080i is an option but the screen looks shakey?
I downloaded something last year that lets me maximise the window I'm looking at, but can't remember what it was or where it came from. Does anyone know? Reason is that my OH's login doesn't let her maximise like this - you have to drag the corner of the window to the biggest size.
View 5 Replies View RelatedOn this laptop that I just recently got in a trade it had an hd screen installed on it but for some reason the guy didn't fix the resolution on it to fit the whole screen and I can't quite figure out how on a mac to change the screen resolution to anything higher then what it's about to get to which is only like 1024-768(stretched). Please help me fix this as I assume it's just a program something I need to manipulate the resolution dimensions. I just lack the information in the field of macs, so that's why I'm asking an expert.

I use firefox but am having trouble reading as the total screen isn't being utilised I use [URL] as a home page but it does not fill the screen and it hard to read. I was just in the Apple store and an employee there said she was having the same issue..
The Control 2 finger gesture makes it bigger but doesn't get rid of what look like large margins. I have tried the pinch gesture but maybe I am not using the correct technique as nothing happens...Â
I tried adding a screen shot by dragging a dropping but that didn't work Finally, I don't know which forum is best: Lion or MacBook Pro...Â

I have a 23 inch Samsung LED that I am using with a new 15 inch i7 MBP. Everything was working wonderfully until today when I had to power my MBP off due to a program lockup. Now the picture on the MPB that used to fill the Samsung screen no longer does. It leaves about 1 1/2 inches of black on either side of the Samsung that is just dead space. Some of my programs now hang over into those areas and you cannot see them fully. Why would it have changed like this just due to a power off and how do I get it back to displaying the full screen on the Samsung? I have toyed with this for over an hour now and am getting nowhere.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Powerbook G4 off of Clist. The previous owner replaced the screen with a higher resolution screen from a newer Powerbook. The display looks great, except that it doesn't fill the whole screen. There is a long group of colored lines on the right side, and the bottom starts to show the top of the display (it looks almost tiled and shows the screen again on the bottom). I'm guessing that this is just a formatting issue, but I'm not sure how to correct it.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a MacBook 5,1 (late 2008) running Mac OS X 10.6.3 which I would like to connect to our Sony Bravia KDL-37S5500 to watch films. The Sony Bravia has a 1080p resolution (1920x1080) and my MacBook can output up to 1920x1200 (which it has been doing fine on my Dell monitor).
I am connecting it using the Apple mini-display-port to DVI converter, then a DVI cable and finally a DVI to HDMI converter which plugs straight into the TV.
It looks great except that it doesn't fill the screen entirely. It seems the resolution is correct (text looks normal, not stretched in any way), but when Overscan is turned on the image is slightly too big horizontal-wise. When Overscan is turned off I get black borders around the image (horizontal as well as vertical). We've tried different settings both on the TV and on the MacBook, but we can't get the right view.
While online at a web site, filling in important forms, the screen suddenly fades to one side and disappears, and I cannot get it back, forcing me to start all over again. How can I stop this from happening?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to make a list of the videos that i have shot with my digital camera....my 1Tb is almost full, so you can understand that is not that easy as looking into a folder with the big thumbnails
this is the expectation: to find an app that can
-create a preview of each video (qt, mov, m4v, wmv, avi, rm, etc)
-create few frames that shows the content of the video
-export the list of movies as web page, with the title of the video and the snapshot for each of them
Do you know if there is any way to achieve this result, without making manually everything?
I've found a software on pc, taht i can use with parallels, but it takes just 1 shot of the video, and not multiple, with the result that is hard to get what is in the video, especially when the video is 10-15 min long, and the name doesn't help to recall what was happening in that video

View 8 Replies View RelatedI had just installed a new router, a Belkin F6D4230-4, and whenever my sister and I, both MacBook users, attempt to go on certain websites, the page style becomes extremely complicated and ugly to work with, with most pictures not loading. I had tried this with both Safari 4 and Firefox 3.5, but I can't figure out what the problem is and what I have to do to fix it. Here is a photo of what my websites generally look like:

I'm pretty sure it's not my browser's settings, because both of my browsers are on their defaults, but I could definitely be wrong.
MacPro 2008 dual quad core and MacBookPro 2.66 mid 2009 both running OS 10.5.8. The Mac Pro which is hard wired is very very slow and many times will time out before it can load a page or will only load part of the page (lots of little boxes with question marks in them or page loads part of the way and stops)and the wheel just keeps spinning. Sometimes I can hit the x and reload and it will work just fine. Sometimes, this does not help. The MacBook Pro which is wireless behaves the same way.
The Internet Setup: DSL line runs from wall to Surewest (ISP) router, then out to a 5 port Dlink switch. From the switch I run straight into the Mac Pro and to the Airport Express. The Airport Express is about 2.5 years old. It runs b/g while the MacBook Pro has draft N capability. I noticed that since I replaced my older MacBook Pro which was b/g, the new one shows a much stronger signal, which is why I can't understand why its slower.
The Testing: I don't think its my ISP because when I run speedtest.net, I get what I always get, 3mb/s download and I have run that test many, many times over the last few days. The only change has been in the ping. It used to be consistently 16-17 ms and now it varies going as high as 24-26 ms. I have no clue if that is indicative of a problem. Data downloads, including iTunes work just fine. The only other change was that this weekend, I downloaded xmarks (formerly foxmarks) to unify and coordinate my bookmarks across both computers. I have since run the xmarks uninstaller on both machines and deleted the online account. However, it has not made any difference.
Attempted Solutions: I already rebooted the Airport Express and changed the channel from auto to a higher number. No effect. I will reboot the ISP modem tonight. I am also considering uninstalling and reinstalling Safari with the thought that xmarks somehow screwed it up, but I also had the problem in Firefox in which I did not install xmarks. If I pull the Safari bookmark.plst file before I uninstall Safari, I should be able to just drop it in to the fresh install and keep my bookmarks. Someone suggested that I switch to Open DNS. This is beyond my area of expertise so to speak, so I am a little afraid to mess with it.
Why is my Mac so slow to load internet pages? My iPad is much faster!

is there anyway to make an iWeb page auto start playing an audio file as soon as the page is loaded? Maybe im just really missing something obvious, but whenever I publish the site, it never auto plays, i have to click play.

View 8 Replies View RelatedMy iMac has just gotten all grumpy and weird with me, when attempting to browse anything on the internet (or even trying to access the router via 192.168.1.1) everything is ridiculously slow or just doesn't load. At first the speed went down dramatically - i went on speedtest.net and did a test, the page took a good 5 mins to load and after the test it turned out that i had a speed of 0.2 Mbps (my average speed on a good day is about 2.5 Mbps, shocking i know!) Ive tried turning the computer off and restarting it to no avail. Im doing this on my Macbook Pro which is sat next to the iMac and with a speed test is coming up with speed of about 2.2 Mbps, so its clearly the machine and not the internet/router. Ive tried using Safari, Chrome and Firefox they all provide the same, unusably slow responces.
