is there anyway to make an iWeb page auto start playing an audio file as soon as the page is loaded? Maybe im just really missing something obvious, but whenever I publish the site, it never auto plays, i have to click play.

When I load the page with text edit, I get some crazy Apple page, so I don't seem to be able to edit the HTML directly. Honestly, I hope to find solutions to problems like these so that I can avoid HTML in the future.

Randomly throughout the day, an audio file will start to play and will repeat until I shut the machine down.
The file starts by saying: Mikano (best guess), two seconds later I hear a gong followed by some Asian music.
The file is not in my iTunes.
I may or may not have iTunes open (and if open, the file continues to play when I close iTunes).
I may or may not have Safari open (and if open, the file continues to play when I close Safari).
I will close all applications and the music continues to play.
Is there any way to start page numbering on page 2? Reason is my first page is my cover page. I have the "First page is different" checked under the Layout Inspector, but page 2 is still numbered as page 2.

I have tried using HTML but does not work. I'm new at iWeb. I have 6 navigational pages. 2 of the 6 pages will have sub pages with those sub pages also having sub pages. How do I link each sub page without creating more navigational pages on the homepage? I don't want 12 navigational pages on homepage.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI don't want just anyone to have immediate access to my gallery via my iWeb site. Ideally I'd like my entire Mobile Me gallery to be password protected. I had a look at password protecting individual albums but that's just a horrible implementation, each album just comes up as a grey thumbnail in the albums view even if you enter login details. I thought an alternative (although far less secure) would be to have the link to the mobile me gallery on a password protected iWeb page as part of my iWeb site but I can't find any options to let me password protect just one page.
Am I right in assuming that Web Gallery only supports password protecting of individual items whereas Apple have gone the opposite route with iWeb where you can only password protect your entire site? If that's the case then it seems like they're really trying to make things hard for us!
Is this possible, could not see it in preferences.
So when import music or movies to itunes on OSX is plays the media after import.
I have a page "Welcome" next to other pages ("About Me"...).
Since yesterday when I open iWeb and click on the "Welcome" name to select the page (to modify or just look at it), iWeb immediatelly quits. The same happens when I follow a link to "Welcome" from another page.
I can access all other pages with no problems.
I tried deleting iWeb's preferences file, restoring an older copy of my domain.site2 file, overwriting iWeb with another copy of iWeb (same version), nothing changed.
This concerns iWeb 3.0 (build 301) on Mac OS X 10.6.2 (Darwin 10.2).
I'm having some problems publishing a site I've created in iWeb 08.
When I publish the page I notice that the colour of the page doesn't take up the whole visible area in the web browser (it appears to be "pillar boxed" with a white bar on the right and left of the screen). Is there any way to apply the page colour to this area?

View 3 Replies View Related this has been driving me crazy, I've looked everywhere and the "best" answer I found was resize the window in iWeb and re-make my site. I'm not that experienced in making websites and I don't have the time to do it again (I did an spanish and english version already and made them look pretty good at least for me)
On my mac it looks great, on windows not so much and it takes it a lot to load. But on iPhone or BB it suuux so I wanted to make a mobile version of it but I haven't found a software that can transform it.
I have an iWeb website which comes up on the first page of google if the correct (and most likely) things are searched for. But at the moment it displays on Google in an odd way - the main result is a random PDF I have on my site and then, under that as a sub-result, is the title "Home" (my home page) and the snippet of text it displays is the menu on my homepage. How can I make the main title of the result say something like "SS957916's Fantastic Website - Photos, videos and more" with the text snippet being body text from my site rather than the menu?!

However everytime i open iWeb it now says the same thing."The Document "index.html" could not be opened" (With the iWeb icon and a big yellow "!" triangle.)Then i get a second box just the iWeb logo now "Can't open file "~/desktop/index.html."Then closes its self. Ive done two reboots. Deleted the file and still the same thing happens. Ive opened the package but cant see any preferences or anyhting to delete. View 19 Replies View RelatedI never noticed this on my last hp laptop but my new dell almost everything in itunes plays with the audio out of sync with the video. most noticeable on podcasts. my dell is not high end but it has duel core amd 64 4400 chips 2 gigs of ram. running xp. it has a built in nvidia geforce 6150l video card with a built in sound card. it has done this since I got it a month ago. it is not an issue playing dvd's in windows media player. just itunes. any clues?

this is the expectation: to find an app that can
-create a preview of each video (qt, mov, m4v, wmv, avi, rm, etc)
-create few frames that shows the content of the video
-export the list of movies as web page, with the title of the video and the snapshot for each of them
Do you know if there is any way to achieve this result, without making manually everything?
I've found a software on pc, taht i can use with parallels, but it takes just 1 shot of the video, and not multiple, with the result that is hard to get what is in the video, especially when the video is 10-15 min long, and the name doesn't help to recall what was happening in that video
me and my friend are starting to make a small site and want to try out iweb. The one problem I found is where does this file save to, I mean if my friend wants to work on the site where do i find the file to send it to him.

When I go to open iWeb on my MacBook, I can't access my old site. I never worked on my site from my new computer, but I have all the files. I have the actual files (such as .jpgs and mp3s) in an organized folder. The website itself and all the information is in the folder that I upload via FTP to my server. How do I get to open all of those in iWeb so that I can edit the site?
