May 23, 2012I am wondering if anyone has an update on when finder will show a thumbnail for the raw files from the Canon 5d mark III? I've done all the updates possible and nothing has changed, I can't do a quick preview either, it just shows the extension image, not the actual image taken. (The symbol for crw).

Jul 19, 2009I've noticed that finder, automatically saves unnecessary spam images and mixes them in with my important images, is there someway of either adding a spam label, to them, so they end up in another folder, or completely stopping the saving process entirely?

Aug 30, 2014Some songs on my iPhone 5S are showing up in iTunes (when I view the iPhone in iTunes) as a song and a s a stream.Pretty sure these were all downloaded from iTunes using my iPhone.I unchecked Sync music, sync’d then rechecked Sync music but, alas, the songs stay. I only see one song when I view them in Music app on the directly iPhone.Â

May 1, 2012I had a question regarding downloads with emails. Every time I download a file and specify "Save Linked Download As" it will never pull the download name. Instead it will say "Mail" instead of the actual file name. I don't have this problem when I download it to my download folder. This happens with every email service I have tried.

Sep 12, 2014The available HD space shown at the bottom of the finder window shows 650 gb and the "get Info" window for the HD shows the same. If i look at the HD in "Disk Utility" or in "System Report" from "About this Mac", it shows 490 gb, which is what it should be by my calculations. I have installed a new SSHD a few weeks ago but it showed the correct available HD space in all locations at that time. Just the other day i noticed the higher available number at the bottom of the finder window, Have performed a "disk repair" and "permissions repair" with no effect. Running OS 10.9 mavericks on a macbook late 08. 8GB ram and 750 gb SSHD.

Nov 3, 2010I've noticed that I can add folders from network shares (in this case samba) to my sidebar in finder but I can't seem to add the actual share folder.So if my server has the share stuff and inside stuff there is a folder named documents I can drag that folder to places in my sidebar but I can't do the same with stuff. Does anyone know of any solution to this?

Apr 16, 2012Safari used to let me drag an image from a webpage to the finder and have the dragged file be saved as an actual image but now all that's saved is a webloc file. I want the image saved, not a reference to the image's URL - do I now have to always use "save as" to save it?Â
I can understand Safari creating a webloc file if I dragged the site icon from the location bar to the finder, but to make the default behavior for dragging things that are parts of a page (not the page itself) as webloc files seems like a HUGE step backwards for usability.Â
Does anyone know if there's, say, a key to hold when dragging to avoid saving a webloc file or a defaults command or something to make Safari revert back to sane draging behavior?

Feb 28, 2009I have the worst internet speeds on the planet(Stationed in Iraq) and I found that hiding images in FireFox allows me to browse faster. But every one in a while I wanna see the images and i can't seem to find a way to flip back and fourth quickly. Is there a browser or a hot key i can bind? I know Firefox has an "exceptions" website list but that does no good because it only lets me see the images on that one address, not for an entire domain.

Apr 22, 2010I have deleted the photos off my camera manually and wanted to change it to shoot in RAW but then when i connected it back up to upload using 'Image Capture', the old image files show up as missing, and the new ones not at all so i changed back to jpeg format, but the problem wont go away
it seems like its saved the old image info in a cache or something can i wipe it clean and start over some way?

I looked on the pference and the display images is checked. So I don't know why it is hapenning. It sometimes says undefined.

Safari :: PDF Does Not Display 300 Dpi Images?
Mar 15, 2012I have a dynamically generated PDF that contains a 300 dpi image. The image added can be one of several that the user selects. On all other browsers the pdf renders fine. On Safari only, seemingly in all modern flavors of OSx and Safari, the images begin to print and then stops printing the actual image and grey is printed in the remaining space the image would take up. To make it more fun one of the images renders fine. It is the 3rd smallest image and the 2 smaller ones do not render so it does not seem to be size related.
This is a screenshot to use as an example: The folding instructions graphic is also 300dpi.

I heard about people having issues with screens going blank, so I went ahead and followed Apple's instructions on the matter. I put the files they said on an SD card and started into the Windows installer. But after about two screens, it says, "Windows could not display the images available for installation." Then my computer restarts.

OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Cannot Reset Finder To Default Settings?
Mar 2, 2012Over the years my finder windows have been set to different colors, font sizes and so on. When I make a change I select the make default box in the show view options, but they never default except for that one finder window. I have erased com.apple.finder.plist and just for fun the com.apple.sidebarlists.plist but can not get the finder to go to a true default. Is there another plist that I am missing?
