View 14 RepliesI want to insert a date in the header and save it as a template. Just as what the templates shipped with Pages. I have no difficulty in inserting the date( from the date menu), and I saved it as a template. The question is that when I use the template next time, the date is the date that I created the template. While apple's template has no this kind of problem.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOkay for FireFox or safari, I'm sorting through ALOT of digital pictures over the net and saving most of them, but rather then opening a page and click on the save image option is there an addon that will auto save all images, bmp, jpeg, tiff, png to a particular folder?
I found some older stuff like this but nothing for MAC.
I know i download all the pictures if they're being displayed in some form, is my computer doing this already and saving them some place I don't know about?

View 1 Replies View RelatedA consumer, had purchased a piece of software (legally of course), say Adobe Photoshop CS3, but for some reason, he/she lost his/her license key and he/she just bought CS4 as an upgrade; Adobe can't help because it's after hours and he/she needs to install CS4 because it is needed right now.
Since you are installing an upgrade, the software will ask for your previous license key to verify this. Knowing that the consumer has already legally purchased CS3 and an upgrade to CS4, he/she uses a keygen to generate a license to CS3 and installs the software.
Would you think this is legal and should be okay to do?

I have tried everything recommended to reset my WiFi/Mac connection--My Mac Book Pro won't generate an IP address or something. I have tried clearing all of my WiFi networks from my advanced WiFi and keychain spaces and re-logging into my WiFi--nothing works. And its not limited to my WiFi--its any WiFi at all. I have used disk utilities to repair my disk, my disk permissions, etc.
I have command R and then run disk utilities and reinstalled my OS-X. Under the advanced section in the WiFi settings on the TCP/IP page everything is blank--where an IP number should be listed, its not--and all I get is an exclamation over my WiFi icon. My computer and see WiFi networks, and even attempts to connect, it just can't. I had this problem once before a few years back and I think I got around it by wiping my hard drive and reinstalling.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIn a previous contact software program I have used for years, the first letter of names, streets, and cities, were automatically capitalized as I typed them in. Unfortunately, that software does not work under Lion and the developer is out of business. Because of that, I am trying to convert to Address Book. I can't find the ability to have that same thing happen in Address Book. Is there something I can turn on in Preferences or some other obscure window? My old contact software also automatically filled in cities, names, or states that I previously entered. Great time saver but doesn't seem to exist in Address Book.

I don't know if this is properly autofill or autocomplete - the two overlap too much anyway so I'm not wasting brain cells trying to come up with a distinction that makes sense to non-engineers. ANYWAY. Here's the point.
I'm on my bank website. My login is xtnjohnson -- just like here. Only I mistyped it once, so in autofill/autocomplete (whichever it is), I get a little drop-down showing two options: xtnjohnson or xtnjohson.
I want to delete only the second option. I recall at sometime finding a very simple way that involved highlighting the offending entry and hitting either control-delete, shift-delete, command-delete, or function-delete, only I can't seem to get any of those combinations to work. And of course I can't find the thread anymore.
The solution did *not* involve dealing with the autofill preferences in *any* way -- I've seen that option and it doesn't help (a) because there's no quick way to find the website where the problem is occurring (my list is long), (b) even when I go through my list, I don't see my bank's url, (c) the place for entering my login appears to be in something like JavaScript, so I'm not sure it'd be tracked in one of those lists, and (d) I don't know that this is properly an "autofill" problem anyway.

I've noticed that finder, automatically saves unnecessary spam images and mixes them in with my important images, is there someway of either adding a spam label, to them, so they end up in another folder, or completely stopping the saving process entirely?

But if the same image is sent to any other PC (from the ma user) it opens OK.The added twist. If another pc user opens (which it does with no issues) then closes and sends back to the failing pc it opens with no issues!
I am trying to recovery a file created in Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac. The file was lost after a power outage. In an attempt to recover the file, my first thought was to check for the file in the Microsoft AutoRecovery 2008 folder within my hardrive. However, the folder only contains a total of four files! Why? If my Microsoft Word is set up to auto save a document every 10 minutes...then how is it possible the folder could only contain 4 files? I am at a loss of how else to recover this file. I am currently attempting to do so with a free trial of Data Recovery Software to see if the file I lost even still exists, with no success so far.

How do I resize images on a mac? I've had my MacBook for 4 months know I never knew how to do this. On Windows in paint all you do is paste the picture and then resize it by dragging the corners, is there a way to do this on macs? I can't seem to find a way to do this in preview. And in Seashore I don't know how to do this unless I manually put in the scale size I want. I simply want to drag the corner of the picture to make it the size I want, how can I do this?

I could have sworn this was possible and I just can't remember how to do it. In Windows 7, the OS is able to resize the windows to where it splits the screen between the two open windows equally. I could have sworn OS X is able to do the same thing, but I can't remember. I have a lot of papers and careplans to right. Am I wrong or is this not possible?

I've actually got two new Macbooks with the same problem running 10.5.6. That is, neither will go into auto sleep. I've tried killing all running processes, etc. and nothing seems to work. I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this problem. I think I'm going back to 10.5.5 until some of these bugs get sorted out.

I had it scheduled to shut down at 12:30am, and I was already asleep. I woke up about 3am to get a glass of water and I checked my iMac and I was able to wake it up. What am I doing wrong, why won't it auto shut down?
how do you selectively turn on and off auto-mounting of drives? I have two drives, 1 for boot with docs etc, and the other for CCC clone back up. But both mount up on start-up. I'd be nice to only have the boot drive mount only. So I dont accidently copy stuff to the clone/back up drive. And if I want to clone to it I can use Disk Utility to manually mount.
