Suddenly Mail has stopped sending emails. Connection Doctor says server is 'offline' and I should ensure passwords and settings are correct. But I changed NOTHING - it just suddenly stopped sending and receiving!
I'm using a late 2012 iMac and a Retina MacBook Pro, both with very latest OS - same problem on both. I've restarted my TimeCapsule and BT HomeHub

Yesterday mail worked fine. Today I keep getting a dialog box with

Although I have not altered any of the settings overnight etc, I put in my password - no joy.
This has happened on both my iMac and my Macbookair. I can send email from my iphone and from my mail account when I log into iCloud via Safari.
What's happening & how do I fix it? This is so annoying as I haven't changed anything overnight. I'm using OSX 10.7.3

My Mail application stopped receiving new emails at 5:48 PM yesterday for some reason. I have several Gmail accounts, one iCloud account and one Yahoo account.
I can send emails without a problem, but I'm not receiving any. I checked Activity, and it shows that the program is "fetching new mail" from every single account (it even says how many messages), but for some reason they are not getting through.
New Mac Pro using Mac Mail. suddenly stopped downloading emails. My partner can dowload from the same server on her mac, same OS, my iphone also can. Mail is connecting to the server OK, sees the emails but then says no mail. Its sending mail OK. Applecare were unable to sort.

Apple mail out of office rule is sending auto replies to all emails not just newly received emails--HELP! I set up the rule according to another apple support thread and instead of only sending the reply to new mail received, it was sent to all messages I believe that were in my INBOX, I only had a few but several people that hadn't sent me emails since I set up the rule, received the OUT OF OFFICE reply.Here is the procedure I followed for the out of office rule-[URL]I just used my email account which is a business account- not an ECU account but these rules according to the apple thread apply for all emails.

For the last week I find that after sending an email with attachments that it remains in my draft box after sending. The mail shows up in the sent box, but it never get's deleted from the draft box until I resend it. This is happening on both my MBP and iMac. Both machines connect to iCloud for mail.

I can no longer receive or send imessage photos within Yosemite Messages App. Standard txt messages work fine but Photo's do not. I recieve the following error when sending our receiving photos in the File Transfer window :

I am receiving my .me email on my ipad and iphone - both upgraded to ios 5.1, but suddenly stopped receiving .me email on my Macbook Pro (10.6.8). View 5 Replies View RelatedI am in the UK and use google mail, it's been fine for ages but I hardly ever send emails. So today I needed to and I can't! I can send emails from google mail online fine, but my Mac Mail refuses to and I have installed Entourage 08 tonight, updated it and again it fails to send, I have reset my router, set everything to IMAP from POP, deleted and created new email accounts in each programme but STILL neither will send emails!
I am begining to wonder if Google Mail is in fact poo as it seems to cause many problems for people?
I have been sending duplicate emails inadvertently recently. It seems it's when I use mBox for mac (registered copy) in Mail to use my Hotmail with IMAP.I hadn't noticed it at first, but now I see every time I send a mail I get 2 copies in my sent box. I can turn off the store sent messages on server option to fix it (but that's the whole point of having IMAP!). Or I can turn off mBox for mac and it also seems to work (but then I can't use IMAP!).
I've also tried on the same machine from gmail, and iCloud accounts (MobileMe), and I had no issue at all.I've also tried 2 different Hotmail accounts, and both of them send double messages every time I send.I think anyone still using a hotmail account will eventually install something like mBox for mac if they've gone Mac recently - as I have. I checked the mail headers of the 2 mails, and they are quite different (masked where appropriate) -

I went to send a message from my apple mail (gmail account) and it won't send. Says smtp.gmail.com is offline. I didn't change any settings but when I went in to check them, they were all gone. I added back smtp.gmail.com under description and my complete email address under server name. I then went to advanced settings and made sure the Use default ports (25, 465, 587) was checked and also Use Secure Sockets Layer was checked. I chose Password for authentication and added my complete email address for user name with my password. It still says I'm offline and won't sent a message.

If I create an email that is saved as a draft while I'm still writing the email, when it finally sends Mail doesn't delete the email from the drafts folder.
I only use MobileMe in Mail, so I'm not sure if this is a problem with MobileMe or with Mail. It happens periodically on both my MacBook and iMac.
When I send 1 email to 1 recipient from my gmail account on mac mail, the mail activity monitor on the bottom left indicates that I am sending 2, 3 or as many as 5 emails. It takes a long time to send when this happens. It only happens when I send from the gmail account and never from my other accounts. I have no "extra" mail in my sent folder. Is someone else sending email from my computer?

I have been using Mail for several years now. Always with my hotmail POP account.
Today it suddenly started downloading old emails that are more than 3 years old. And not just a few but thousands!
What can I do about this?
My Mail.app has been working fine with my [URL] account for yonks but has now suddenly stopped working. I either get a constant spinner next to the account or a warning sign that says something about bandwidth limits exceeded.
My blackberry gets my email fine, as does Evolution on Ubuntu 10.04. This has been on going for about a week and I've even archived any messages that have lots of pictures in them. Still no luck.
Mail is working with my other google apps accounts for about four different domains but _not_ with my [URL] account.
My Gmail worked fine for about a year now, then this week it just stopped being able to connect! It tells me that it cannot connect to googles imap servers or there there was an error connecting to port 993! I'm so frustrated, I've tried a restart, and deleting and readding the account but nothing. I even tried configuring it with POP setting over imap. Still nothing!

When I tried to set up Outlook.com account with Mail I was not able to locate Outlook.com settings automatically like one would on iPhone. Anyhow, I set it up manually using the IMAP settings. I've read all the proposed answers for enlarging text in the body of emails and none work for me. I have tried dragging the small a-large A icon to the taskbar but clicking it does nothing. In fact, none of the icons are functional. I can enlarge the text so it's readable (18 pt. or so) but then the recipient gets an email with overly enormous text. I only want to VIEW the text larger, say, 50% larger, because IT'S SO SMALL IT'S A STRAIN TO VIEW IT.
