Up until last Thursday, I'd never had any problems using my [URL] email.I moved everything to icloud about a month ago, but this didn't seem to have any effect on things.Then suddenly, every time I try to take my mac.com online via the icon on the desktop of my iMac, it just won;t take the account online.I can still access my email via icloud online, but that's it.

My iMac G5 has suddenly stopped recognising CDs. It's fine with DVDs - blank ones, bought ones - loves 'em. But CDs it may load on the fourth or fifth attempt but usually just whirrs, clicks and ejects. This has only started happening in the very recent past, Prior to that, it was fine.

I was in the middle of ripping a series of CDs in iTunes when the drive suddenly stopped reading the CDs' contents - I have tried several CDs, including re-trying ones I had already ripped. It does not get beyond track list. Do I need a new drive or can I solve it? I have also tried using a CD cleaning disc. 3 years old iMac with Mavericks installed, no previous problems. It still reads disc title and content list and loads / ejects correctly.

I can read my incoming email at iCloud.com, and on my iPad, but it no longer flows from iCloud to iMac Mail. There have been no configuration changes on iMac Mail. Apple says "All systems go," but I'm skeptical; I think the incoming mail IMAP server is broken. In Mail "Accounts" the incoming mail server is set to "p02-imap.mail.me.com" and the entry is greyed out so I can't change it to the recommended [URL] Outgoing email works normally in Mail.

Just recently (this night,) whenever I would unplug my main USB hub, my iMac (Late 2006) would turn off (that is, instantly shut down as if the power had been disconnected). I don't know why this happened, but it turned on immediately afterward so I shrugged it off. The last time this happened, (the 4th time,) the iMac wouldn't turn back on at all.
It responds to power button presses, and you can hear the harddrive spinning up and the CD drive whirring and fans spinning. The sleep light in front stays on, but the display stays black, and it doesn't make the characteristic chime when it "turns on". In addition, it doesn't seem to be delivering power to USB devices, so there's no way that I can boot up from a startup disc or anything to see what's going on.
What do you guys think could be wrong with my computer? I doubt my non-existant applecare would cover anything of this sort, and I'm pretty sure that i'm SOL for hopes of a computer that just works. In addition, one other question. I was working on a VERY important school assignment at the time, (cliche, I know,) so is there any way I can connect another computer to my iMac so I can get my school assignment off of it?

My mail program has stopped receiving mail from the server, Cincinnati Bell, zoomtown. I have had numerous weird sent items that come back as undeliverable to people not in my contacts. When i try to log in it tells me that my password is incorrect. I tried to check on webmail and CB is saying they have locked my account for suspicous activity and i should remove the " virus" and they will reopen my account. I thought that macs did not get viruses.

I can send mail, but it is extremely slow to go, and will not send me a copy as requested, even for a 500 byte post. I have a network with an Airport Extreme Base Station. I have two Macs connected by ethernet and an Iomega MiniMax hard drive connected to the base station by USB port. I have been running two printers, an HP Laserjet 1012 and Samsung CLP-315, connected by USB cables to the MiniMax hub. This setup has been running fine for several months. Yesterday, with no change in cabling, the printers stopped working. If I try to print to either printer, I get a message saying, "looking for printer..." If I connect either printer directly to the base station, I get the same message. If I connect the printers directly to either computer by USB cable, they both print fine. What can I do to get my original setup back working? I have tried restarting all the various components and reconnecting all the cables. I have checked to make sure I have the latest drivers for the printers.

I went to preferences and changed the preload so it wouldn't load all the videos in the directory and it still doesn't work.
Not sure that this problem is with my Mac or not, but suddenly my printer stopped printing and a window opens that says that the printer is "off line". I unplugged the printer and rebooted the computer and re-plugged the printer in thinking that might cure the problem, but same message came up "printer off line". The printer shows up in the finder and I am at a loss as to a possible cure without having to buy a new printer.

Today when I tried to connect my charger, the charging light suddenly went out after a few seconds. It's never done this before, and now my computer isn't charging. I looked at several problems that were similar to this, and I've tried everything short of replacing the charger. I followed the link to the article that explains what to do in this situation; I checked absolutely everything on my charger that it told me to, and cleaned off the area around the magnetic pins. I tested the charger in several different outlets, with no results.
I also followed the steps to reset the SMC. That didn't work either. Something else that's important to note is that there is an area on my computer between the MagSafe power port and the Gigabit Ethernet port that is damaged. The plastic covering between these two ports had broken off about a week ago, and there is a prominent gap between them. But, my charger was still working just fine before today. Could this damage still have something to do with why my charger stopped working?

Started my system this morning and MobileMe seems to have deleted large quantities of my emails, including several most recent ones that I had yet to reply to. I thought this had happened before, but blamed my editing of email accounts when MobileMe became active. But this is definite, they were there last night and gone now. So, what is the best way to still be able to access my old emails?
I thought of backing up my mobile me emails, but the apple back up will still be "going away" from what I understand. Or can I save that backup copy to my mac and still access it somehow?

I have been using Mail for several years now. Always with my hotmail POP account.
Today it suddenly started downloading old emails that are more than 3 years old. And not just a few but thousands!
What can I do about this?
It seems that during my afternoon class, I shut down my macbook and then when I went to use it about 10 minutes later the keyboard nor the trackpad works. Now the keyboard/trackpad is not defective as it works via the OSX install cd and it works in Windows Vista (dual booted) When ever I start up OSX it just comes up and the mouse is in the upper left hand corner, and the keyboard doesn't work at all. I have tried a pram reset by pressing command + option + p + r and that did nothing. When I am in OSX the only way to get out is to hold down the power button till the macbook turns off. What else could be wrong is there anything I can do, the nearest Apple store is about 80 miles away so I am trying to avoid that at this point as it seems like a software issue.

So videos and itunes etc play but the sound isn't produced.When I try to turn the volume up or down, the indicator says the volume is up full, but I cannot adjust it. Underneath the volume measurement there is a little sign in white like a no entry sign, meaning that adjustment of volume is not available.I gues this must mean that the speakers have been disabled, but can't figure out how to enable them.

My Mail.app has been working fine with my [URL] account for yonks but has now suddenly stopped working. I either get a constant spinner next to the account or a warning sign that says something about bandwidth limits exceeded.
My blackberry gets my email fine, as does Evolution on Ubuntu 10.04. This has been on going for about a week and I've even archived any messages that have lots of pictures in them. Still no luck.
Mail is working with my other google apps accounts for about four different domains but _not_ with my [URL] account.
