View 2 RepliesOne is called "SizeUp" and I've been using it for a few days now. Very useful program, especially if you find yourself wanting to quickly compare two webpages side by side. It uses keyboard shortcuts although you can also select it from the menu bar.
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust out of the box last night. Starts up and the hard drive 500GB is making tons of noise. Sounds like the arm is smacking back and forth, grinding sounds, and electronic like sounds. After twenty minutes or so it died down. I rebooted. The entire time Spotlight was indexing it was loud and noisy. Once completed it was nice and quiet again. I moved some things around and it got noisy, at that point I just went to bed. This afternoon I ran all the updates, it went back to noisy all over again. In my opinion the HDD is most likely no good, or will be no good sometime soon. I've got an Apple Store about 10 minutes away, is this worth making an appointment or will they just give me 'it boots and runs, what can we do until it dies'?
View 3 Replies View Relatedwondering if there is an app, or a way, or using something similar to Aero Snap in Windows 7 on Snow Leopard? It's a feature of 7 I really like, I use it constantly. Other than writing some Applescript, can anyone think of something that lets me do it?

But I haven't been able to find a similar one for my PowerBook If you don't know what I'm talking about, look here: [URL:...]Something along those lines. I've been looking for one for awhile but I can't seem to find one.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWith OS X, I always find it annoying that windows can still me moved when maximized. I don't see the point of this since 99% of the problem this causes is that my windows are offset by 2-5 pixels (which I then have to zoom, then re-zoom to maximize the window again). Why can't we have snapping to window edges? Many programs already do this, and they don't detract from the design purity of OS X (unlike Windows 7 which does this over the top and fugly screen edge animation). A slight nudge when your window hits 2-4pxs off the side of the screen would suffice. A center line should exist too, since I find myself using my screen very much so half and half - it is very annoying to get the windows to be half and half equally.

View 5 Replies View RelatedAs of iTunes 10, I have noticed my scrollbar no longer snaps to the point I click on. I have to drag the indicator to the point I am looking for. I'm refering to my music catalogue and in the view as "album list" and sorted by artist. Anyone else have this issue? I really liked being able to snap to a point when looking for artists and radio station links.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy RAM I ordered for my iBook 1.42ghz came in today. I'm trying to install it, but I can't seem to get the brackets to snap. I can get it in so it feels pretty secure, but only the bracket on the left side (when viewing from the USB-port side of the iBook) is clicking in place.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy ibook G4 (running leopard) has a battery that seems to drop from around 75% to the computer shutting down completely (ncluding loss of prefered wifi network) in literally the blink of an eye, with no warning. I have calibrated it. I tried running coconut battery to see its vitals and the program tells me crazy things like it can charge to 12666mAh which we all know is impossible. Any ideas at all? The apple info says it has around 206 cycles on it total. Do I need to just cough up and buy a new battery? I'm hoping not as I just got the computer used through the marketplace and the guy before said he was getting 2-3 hours still.

Does anyone know of any 3rd party add-ons for OS X that allow you to 'snap' or align any on-screen window to the other windows? I'm looking for a system-wide add-on so I can use this feature across all my apps, collectively aligning their window edges together to try and keep things tidy.
View 4 Replies View RelatedLately I've noticed a loud popping noise when I adjust the tilt angle on my screen. The noise comes from the right side of the screen and is very loud. This happens when the screen angle has been stationary for a few minutes. I went to the Apple Store today and the genius told me it was normal.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI confess, Windows 7 is a good OS, even though 90% of its "features" you could find hidden in either WinXP or Vista, but the usability feature for me that fits in this 10% "new features" category was definitely Aero Snap and up to date there was no 1:1 Mac solution. Now I was extatic to download that handy Cinch tool fro And yes, in my opinion it looks even more elegant and feels more natural on Mac OS X than Windows but that is my highly biased opinion.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs it supposed to snap in as well as screw in when putting it back onto the computer? View 4 Replies View RelatedMy 13" MacBook Pro (Mid 2011) is making a loud click, or snapping noise whenever the clamshell is closed, or moved a little sometimes. It's becoming very persistant and doesn't seem normal. Most of the time it does make the noise (which is from the back right). I'm taking it in tomorrow under warranty. Any suggestions? Is this normal? The screen also moves smoothly and is always in place. It's all strange and hopefully they can replace the hinge.

I've been using my macbook for a few months right now, and primarily use it for recording me and my band-mates on Logic express, but now, I've not been able to use my iSight on my mac. I don't know what's wrong with it, because I've always been able to take photos with friends in Photo Booth and take movies with it as well. Up till now that is. A few days ago I tried to open up Photo Booth and snap a picture, but all I got was a blank screen. The program would count down, but the screen would just be white instead of showing what it would take. The little green light next to it would go on as well, but it wouldn't take a picture, and nothing is blocking the screen either.

View 24 Replies View RelatedWhat happened to the title bar roll-up/minimize feature in OS9? Right-clicking or double clicking the title bar in OS9 would result in the window rolling up, showing only the title bar. It's no longer in OS X 10.5. I loved that, so much that I even installed a MS Windows version of the same feature. Is there a program or hack to achieve this in Leopard?
Is it possible to add functionality to the Quickview feature in leopard so that I can view more image file formats like IFF, OpenEXF etc...? I assume it's linked to the Preview application so if that can view them then QuickView should be able to too?
