I'm looking for something like TwoUp for Jaguar. I have an old G4 connected to a large monitor and want it to behave like 2 monitors side by side.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for a way to be able to resize a window from any side. I watch some TV on my laptop, and I want to be able to shrink the window down to JUST the video so I can save screen space for work.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been looking around for an app that makes all windows in Mac Os X snap to the edge of others (and to the edge of the screen).
View 5 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know of any 3rd party add-ons for OS X that allow you to 'snap' or align any on-screen window to the other windows? I'm looking for a system-wide add-on so I can use this feature across all my apps, collectively aligning their window edges together to try and keep things tidy.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there were any apps/hacks out there that *I can't believe I'm saying this* give similar "window Snapping" functionality that Windows 7 offers?
View 26 Replies View RelatedOne is called "SizeUp" and I've been using it for a few days now. Very useful program, especially if you find yourself wanting to quickly compare two webpages side by side. It uses keyboard shortcuts although you can also select it from the menu bar.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI confess, Windows 7 is a good OS, even though 90% of its "features" you could find hidden in either WinXP or Vista, but the usability feature for me that fits in this 10% "new features" category was definitely Aero Snap and up to date there was no 1:1 Mac solution. Now I was extatic to download that handy Cinch tool fro And yes, in my opinion it looks even more elegant and feels more natural on Mac OS X than Windows but that is my highly biased opinion.

I'm creating DMG installers with background pictures. My build machine is 10.6. I'm having problems getting them working consistently:If I create one on 10.4 it works fine in 10.5, 10.5 and 10.6,If I create one for 10.5 it works fine in 10.4, 10.5 and 10.6,But if I create one in 10.6, the background picture shows in 10.6 but does not show in 10.4 or 10.5.
I think I recall having seen similar reports in one or two places but there's not much information on the web. Has anyone here come across this problem? Is it recognised? Fixable? Unfortunately I have no option of running 10.5 on my build machine...
no longer split into inbox/message view on the right. I've gone through every option possible but i cannot get it back.
the left column contains the email inbox/outbox/etc...
the the large section of the screen should be split into two sections, the email folder at the top, and the actual email below it.
but I somehow deleted the message window split.
im about to install windows on my macbook via bootcamp. However, i will use the same partition for parallels, which means that my ram is goign to be damaged. I wanted to know which os did u recomment me to install. Does windows 7 hog more cpu and ram than vista?

Is there anyway to make it so the computer "cuts off the sides" so it can make 4:3 ratio without stretching anything? I want to play an old game from 1999 on Windows XP that doesn't look good on widescreen.
View 2 Replies View Relatedi think that there is something wrong with my macbook display, but i am not very sure. This problem has been there since the day i bought my macbook so i thought there was nothing wrong till i read one of a post in this forum.
The bottom sides of the macbook screen seems relatively dim as compared to the other sides of the screen and specially prominent when viewed in a white screen. Is there something wrong with the backlight? Should i send to an apple service centre then?

I just noticed that the magsafe and the MiniDisplayPort are on opposite sides on the new Airs. It seems to me that this would pose a significant issue with the bundled cables on the 24" Cinema display (can the cable reach both sides?). I'm not home at the moment, so I can't really envision the length of the unbundled portion of the cord and the width of the computer.

Is there such feature when comparing 2 documentation Like Win 7? I think it's called Aero Snap. Here is a youtube link. Look at 2:30.

It thought they would only show up in iWeb but they are in Firefox and Safari as well. How can I get rid of them. I don't really want my site just in the middle like that.

Just out of the box last night. Starts up and the hard drive 500GB is making tons of noise. Sounds like the arm is smacking back and forth, grinding sounds, and electronic like sounds. After twenty minutes or so it died down. I rebooted. The entire time Spotlight was indexing it was loud and noisy. Once completed it was nice and quiet again. I moved some things around and it got noisy, at that point I just went to bed. This afternoon I ran all the updates, it went back to noisy all over again. In my opinion the HDD is most likely no good, or will be no good sometime soon. I've got an Apple Store about 10 minutes away, is this worth making an appointment or will they just give me 'it boots and runs, what can we do until it dies'?
View 3 Replies View Relatedwondering if there is an app, or a way, or using something similar to Aero Snap in Windows 7 on Snow Leopard? It's a feature of 7 I really like, I use it constantly. Other than writing some Applescript, can anyone think of something that lets me do it?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Windows vista using going through parallels because my bootcamp failed a while ago. This partition also acts as my bootcamp. Well The internet on parallels works fine because it is using osx network, but when i boot into bootcamp the network drivers seem to be missing. I cant figure it out, but it says the ethernet and network drivers are not there. I cant find the drivers on the internet anywhere and when i use the vista disk i have it still does not want to install them.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've seen a few posts about this problem on Macrumors and through Google searches, but I haven't found a solution to the "Black Border" problem some of us are having when connecting Macs to HDTV's via HDMI cables. Nor am I certain what the cause of the problem is: Mac?, TV?, HDMI cable length?
For me, resetting PRAM by holding Command-Option-P-R at startup and waiting for two chimes removes the black border for up to several computer restarts, but eventually the border comes back until I reset PRAM, again.
I have a 55' long HDMI cable from Monoprice ("HDMI Tin-Plated Copper CL2 Rated (For In-Wall Installation) Cable (22AWG) - 35ft (Gold Plated)") running from a Mac Pro with an ATI Radeon video card to a 52" Mitsubishi 1080p HDTV.
To clarify, this is not just a black bar at the top and bottom like when watching certain DVD's, but a black border around all four sides that effectively reduces the size of your TV from, e.g. 52" to 46" whether watching movies, surfing the web, or otherwise using the Mac via an HDTV
I'm a happy Mac user and always have been. I recieved a 2006 13 in White MacBook for my birthday a couple of years ago, and it's been working really well. One thing I've noticed since about a half a year ago is the casing coming off. It will come off on small strips around the edges. What's causing this and how can I get it fixed? Someone told me that if you take it to the Mac store, you can have the casing fixed for free because it's a defect and that's why they moved to unibody models. Is this true? The same person also told me that they'll only fix it if it's on the side facing closest to you. If it's on the other sides with the ports and the cd player, they won't do anything about it/charge you to get it fixed?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am the first person to think of this idea and publish it on the Internet time-stamped. Please use freely. I have an idea for the Macbook Pro keyboard. Make the sides of the macbook pro keys transparent acrylic black so that no hairs or dust can fall under there and let the light shine through the black transparent acrylic to create the same backlit keyboard effect.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWith OS X, I always find it annoying that windows can still me moved when maximized. I don't see the point of this since 99% of the problem this causes is that my windows are offset by 2-5 pixels (which I then have to zoom, then re-zoom to maximize the window again). Why can't we have snapping to window edges? Many programs already do this, and they don't detract from the design purity of OS X (unlike Windows 7 which does this over the top and fugly screen edge animation). A slight nudge when your window hits 2-4pxs off the side of the screen would suffice. A center line should exist too, since I find myself using my screen very much so half and half - it is very annoying to get the windows to be half and half equally.
