View 8 RepliesI got a MacBook Air a few months ago and finally got around to migrating data from my MacBook Pro. I am seriously not happy with the results (all I really wanted was to move my iTunes and a limited few apps, and it seems that I got nothing that I wanted). I used a Time Machine backup from an external HD for the migration. Is there any way to undo the migration?

I am looking for a RAR archiver (don't ask why... because I used it a lot on my Windows machine) in order to create split RAR-archives. But there is no good RAR programme for the Macs! Yesterday I found RARMe and it has been working very well... Today it doesn't want to create archives anymore. I switched to Rarify, which is a very simple programme but it does what it has to do. The problem is that it is too simple and I still need some options... Could you tell me how YOU solve this problem of not having a good RAR-tool on OSX? Which programme is the best?

I've had a Mac Pro for 2.5 years. I've never run diagnostics or de-fragged the HD like I did with my old G4. I called AppleCare to ask if I should do this periodically (I have the Tech Tool "light" disk that came w/Apple Care, and I often hear ads for $99 Tech Tool Pro).

It does not matter what license it has. If it's a good app, I don't mind shelling out some $$$ for it.
I just bought a new HD for my MBP. However I would like a backup of the data on the boot camp partition before it gets replaced (on fri.). Does anyone know of a good tool to back up Windows? I have windows 7. It is barely bootable (there is only 13 mb left free) so if it can be a native Mac app it would be better. I have heard of WinClone, anyone had any luck with that?
Also is there any easy way to enlarge the boot camp partition when before of after it has been restored on the new HD?
Specs are: original mbp 15", osx 10.6.3 and Windows 7 boot camped.
I don't want anything terribly expensive - I just want to test my times against those uploaded to Amazon from PC's.

I'm looking for some drawing software specialized in scientific and physics diagrams. I need to draw forces, vectors, tilted planes with sliding blocks and other schematics. I don't need the tool to do maths calculations or to plot functions, data manipulations, etc. Just a drawing tool for diagrams, schematics, with the usual arrows, vectorial symbols etc.
View 6 Replies View RelatedUnder XP, it's in the Powertoys and is called Image Resizer.
(Not 'officially' available for Vista.)
What you can do is browse any folder and choose multiple images.
Then, you right click and on the menu that pops up you get an image resize option.
You can resize to the size you want - hey presto, all images are resized (and optimised)!
I can use to search Files and Folders on a Mac OS X system. I'm looking to search for files that contains parts of names, and specific sizes, and specific formats (.jpg, .pdf, ect..). and then while this search is going and doing it's "thing", is it possible that I can backup or copy the files to a different location from the search result?

View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen I switch between applications such as Safari, iTunes and iPhoto, the screen doesn't show - only the grey tool bar at the top. I think have to click on the appropriate application in the dock for the screen to reveal itself.
What setting do I need to change to be able to see the screen immediately when I switch to the application?
btw, I generally use the cmd/Tab command to switch between applications.
I can't find the tool bar with the font sizing on it.
