How do I get data analysis in excel 2008 in mac?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm getting a new macbook. Currently I use time machine as a backup tool and was wondering if I should use it to transfer all my data to the new mac. One benefit of a new harddrive is the fresh install without all the junk that has built up over the years right? So wouldn't time machine just be transferring all the junk and stuff I want to the new mac? or is time machine smarter than this.

I need it to compute things like current ratio, shareholder value, dividend yield etc.
Originally posted three crash logs that mail gave me, from what I suspect is from a recently installed beta add-on Mail Tags, however removed them for security purposes. Whom from Apple Care can I send these for further analysis?

I have been told that they have replaced my hard drive but could not get any data off the old one. I have now lost all my data, photos, files, music etc. NO backups, only simply because i did not know how to do them. Is there any way of getting the files back? All my work spreadsheets and accounts were also lost.

This is crazy but an entire folder is missing from my tool bar menu. I looked in every folder as well as organized and unorganized folders but can't find it.

The box opens up for the tools but you can't see anything in the box it's just grey. Same with the measurements. I've restarted the computer a few time, but no luck.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I switch between applications such as Safari, iTunes and iPhoto, the screen doesn't show - only the grey tool bar at the top. I think have to click on the appropriate application in the dock for the screen to reveal itself.
What setting do I need to change to be able to see the screen immediately when I switch to the application?
btw, I generally use the cmd/Tab command to switch between applications.
just wondering if anyone had tried this yet.when i had my MBPro about a 8 months ago, i found shadowbook to be a useful tool...has anyone tried installing this on their macbook air? the ambient light sensor and sudden drop motion sensor are both located at the top of the display (next to isight), so it wouldn't be as easy of a 'swipe' of ait
View 2 Replies View RelatedAll the tool bars are ways too small. It's painful to read. I know there're ways to work around this problem such as decreasing the screen resolution, or use the Zoom feature. These are only workaround solutions because decreasing screen resolution makes pictures look less sharp, and the Zoom feature is not that fun to have all the times on your screen. It looks like Apple should come up with a permanent fix, as it is clearly not acceptable fix. Hopefully some Genius will come up with an App that offers a better resolution.

I’m trying to use OS X Mavericks to dictate a note to my laptop. I clicked System Preferences from the Apple icon, then Accessibility button and then Speakable Items. After that I clicked Settings, but I don’t know how to TURN ON Speakable Items, which I see selected. I went on to press Listening Key on the Feedback window and said, “Hello, what’s happening?” I didn’t see it as typed text anywhere, as I expected to. I also selected “Open Speech Commands.” Again nothing happened!
My Macbook pro with Rerina display is doing a very odd thing. The bottom dock bar is flickering every few seconds. It is like the top tool bar is actually pushing up from the bottom. I've attached a screenshot...if you look at the very bottom, you can see the blip of the top menu bar that is happening every few seconds.
I've tried restarting in safe mode, but the same problem kept happening.
When my Mac Book starts up I have a range of programmes which auto start, safari, google chrome, skype etc..how to turn these off?

View 1 Replies View Relatedrecently I upgraded the HDD of my macbook pro 13"(2009) to a Hitachi 7200RPM 500GB(7K500), it generates clicking noise and the Load_Cycle_Count attribute increases too fast, which has a 600000 limit. I searched on the forum, and saw many people have the same problem, someone suggests LCC is not spin-up/spin-down but Start_Stop_Count is, which is NOT true for laptop, it is only true for desktop with Windows which do not care about power saving so the HDD seldom parks its head.
Today I went to my friends house who has a desktop PC which support SATA HDD, so I plugged my 2.5" HDD in straight away, and booted from Hitachi's Feature Tool(you can google it and find the address), then I was able to adjust the APM level. Here are two photos:
I made it 192, which is the lowest value within Active idle range as I usually use my MBP as a desktop replacement, so battery is not an issue.
Hope this can help people with Hitachi HDD who are annoyed by the clicking noise and worried about the shortened life of HDD.
Just picked up the adaptor today and thought it was pretty much a no brainer: plug it in, it works. Not in this case, it keeps getting a self assigned IP address and I can't connect to the internet-although there is a green light next to the ethernet adaptor in System preferences. I have an Airport network set up as a normal scenario. I bought this adaptor only because I am about to take a trip and the hotel only has ethernet in the rooms. I've tried using the diagnostic tool, but it keeps hanging and crashing.

I have a mid-2010 MacBook Pro 15" with extra-dense pixels, but have lost my original disks. Is there any way to get hold of the AHT for this model? It original shipped with Snow Leopard but I have upgraded it to Lion. Since this is a hardware test I am running though, I assume that the AHT is tied to my hardware model rather than the Mac OS.I did try restarting and holding down 'D' both with no internet connection and with an internet connection - just in case - but got no joy.

Both the Macbook and HP monitor are set to display Adobe RGB, the HP displays really crisp whites, and the MacBook is yellow in comparison. I'm wondering if all Macbooks display colours this way, or is mine faulty? I tend to work on the larger screen, but it'd be good to have the option to use the small one also.
I've considered buying a calibration tool (an overdue purchase) and/or taking it to the Mac store, it'd be a great help if anyone knows if it's a problem that can be fixed at all.
Mac OSX has a very handy tool by which you can connect 2 Macs and migrate all the information and settings from one to the other.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a RAR archiver (don't ask why... because I used it a lot on my Windows machine) in order to create split RAR-archives. But there is no good RAR programme for the Macs! Yesterday I found RARMe and it has been working very well... Today it doesn't want to create archives anymore. I switched to Rarify, which is a very simple programme but it does what it has to do. The problem is that it is too simple and I still need some options... Could you tell me how YOU solve this problem of not having a good RAR-tool on OSX? Which programme is the best?

View 6 Replies View RelatedSo, I'm trying to recover some lost files. I put it on Data recovery 3. Everything went fine until the power in my house went out, stopping the entire process. NOW when I try to run the process, it just stalls at 33,3%, with no indication of how much time left...
Need some help here. My friend is a DJ and had an external drive with tens of thousands of songs on it. The plug broke on it and I think that corrupted it since Eject was not used. I pulled the 3.5in HDD out of the case and hooked up up with some other external plugs I have.
When I run Data Rescue 3 on it, it shows that it sees almost all of these and the only two formats it counts up are mpeg and mp3s. Data Rescue then finishes the scan and has a bunch of crap files that are not needed, but none of the songs show up. What is going on here? Did I miss something in Data Rescue 3.
The drive is a 1TB drive and the backup drive we are using is 640GB, but there was only about 250GB of music on the drive to begin with.
