Hoping someone here has experience and can clarify.
The bag is going to be dual purpose, to carry either my 13" MBP (with SecondSkin) or my DELL 14" work laptop.
The 'true' width/dimensions fit within the Timbuk2 guidelines by about 1CM on both. I emailed Timbuk2 and they said it would be too tight for a medium, but having read all the posts about M fitting a 15" laptop I'm some what confused.
I just got a new 1080p display that I'm also using as a secondary monitor. I want to use it as a primary monitor when I'm using my MBP, which I know how to do.
However, the applications need to be resized and positioned when you connect it. Are there any applications that can remember sizing + positioning of applications based on which display is your primary?
It'd be useful to make the display my "docking" station of sorts.
Fonts on screen are much smaller than printed versions. Can't hardly see onscreen & I'm sending resumes!!

When I open pages it always uses helvetica as the default font. Can i set it to a different one like times new roman as a default.I mean you can tell it to start up by default to a specific page style, why not a specific font also?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got some internet going again after having moved. I've had my new Octopus for a few weeks tho. So much to my surprise, I open up my gmail account and it's practically unintelligible. Some weird cartoon like font is my default font. As far as I can tell, all the default fonts are activated and all the settings point to the activated fonts, but this is driving me absolutely F__KING bonkers. Has anyone ever had this problem? Now to be fair, I did install some fonts from a semi questionable font disk a week or two ago, so maybe some rogue font has hijacked my web fonts.

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecall, but can't locate it now, a freeware utility that converted PC fonts so that they were compatible with the Mac OS. This goes back a few years to earlier operating systems, both PC and Mac. I just downloaded 4 PC fonts I'd like to add to my current collection. Now running OS 10.6.3.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to increase the font size of my mac, but I can't find it anywhere. I should be really simple to do so I'm probably missing something. On windows you just right click the desktop > appearance and bang. How can I do it on the mac? Oh and I don't want to increase the font of safari or finder, i already know how to do that, what I'm looking for is a way to make all fonts bigger (including menus)... just like you do on windows, make all fonts 1.2 times bigger.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a RAR archiver (don't ask why... because I used it a lot on my Windows machine) in order to create split RAR-archives. But there is no good RAR programme for the Macs! Yesterday I found RARMe and it has been working very well... Today it doesn't want to create archives anymore. I switched to Rarify, which is a very simple programme but it does what it has to do. The problem is that it is too simple and I still need some options... Could you tell me how YOU solve this problem of not having a good RAR-tool on OSX? Which programme is the best?

I've had a Mac Pro for 2.5 years. I've never run diagnostics or de-fragged the HD like I did with my old G4. I called AppleCare to ask if I should do this periodically (I have the Tech Tool "light" disk that came w/Apple Care, and I often hear ads for $99 Tech Tool Pro).

View 21 Replies View RelatedI need a tool to convert an .AVI movie file with an .SRT subtitle file to a DVD format. I mean it should be able to authorise a DVD with the subtitles. Is there a good application that can do that? I HAVE looked on VersionTracker, but it's a friggin' jungle..
It does not matter what license it has. If it's a good app, I don't mind shelling out some $$$ for it.
I just bought a new HD for my MBP. However I would like a backup of the data on the boot camp partition before it gets replaced (on fri.). Does anyone know of a good tool to back up Windows? I have windows 7. It is barely bootable (there is only 13 mb left free) so if it can be a native Mac app it would be better. I have heard of WinClone, anyone had any luck with that?
Also is there any easy way to enlarge the boot camp partition when before of after it has been restored on the new HD?
Specs are: original mbp 15", osx 10.6.3 and Windows 7 boot camped.
I don't want anything terribly expensive - I just want to test my times against those uploaded to Amazon from PC's.
