My configuration:
When I wakeup my iMac I have to enter my password (->normal) but just after I have to enter 2 times more my password (keychain).
Is it possible to avoid these 2 questions?

The first time I put in my password the screen turns gray for about a minute, and then I have to put in my password again but then it turns off, I have to push the start bottom again and then I am allow to put in my password and log in. What do I need to do?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSince upgrading to Yosemite I am being asked by Apple apps to enter my password much more often than before, to the point that it's annoying. The reason for this usually is not apparent, and happens even though I'm using only my home computers, from which I've signed in many times previously and which should be recognized by Apple, and on which I have elected to stay signed in. Worse, oftentimes when I sign in, the dialog box refreshes, with the PW field empty, giving no indication why my entry was not accepted.
Sometimes I'll have to enter my PW two or three times before it's accepted, all with no alert that the ID was not recognized or the PW was incorrect. It's like the system is trying to call my bluff or having me say it three times before it'll believe me! This happens so regularly that now when iTunes or Mail, for example, asks for my PW, I enter it very slowly and deliberately, so I know I'm not making a typo. Besides, I never experienced this behavior with any prior OS X version.
Is this a new security step—the owner of the Apple ID will continue to enter repeatedly what he knows to be the correct PW even when it's not initially accepted, whereas a hacker will move on to a new guess after a first attempt with the correct PW is rejected?

Upgraded to SL, clean install, MBA REVA. When waking from sleep, i noticed the machine asks me for the WEP password every single time despite checking the "remember password" box. I noticed the "add to keychain" box doesn't show up anymore... am i missing something?

My Macbook Pro mid 2009 beeps three times after having change the ram from 2x2(4 Gigs) to 2x4(8Gigs) of RAM. Both new RAM modules do not work either together or by themselves. They do however work with an old RAM module, originally to have been found in my MacBook. What I need to do to make both new RAM modules work?!

For work, I got a new MBP 15" a month ago and we have the computer set to require password to wake computer/screensaver. When I type in my password, it sometimes takes up to a minute for it to authenticate the password. Other times it takes a second like normal. I check the error logs and nothing is coming up during those times.

The app Store asks for me to install iTunes 11.2.2 and Pro Application Update 2010-02 multiple times. Each time it will install without errors. Here is a screen grab showing the multiples.

As I have log in password set up on my mac, when my mac is asleep, and I want to use my remote control, my mac wakes up with the window asking for my log in password, as it happens when you wake your mac up. Before entering the password, you cant see the "front row" screen.
Is there anyway that I can enter my password remotely using my apple remote? Or do I have to come back to my mac, enter the password by keyboard and then be able to use remote control? If not possible to use apple remote; maybe some good iPhone app instead
I have just upgraded to Maverick (OSX 10.9.4) and have lost the ability to select alert repeat times. Previously I could choose 5/10/15 minutes or 1 hour/day/week. Now I can only snooze for 15 minutes. Where have the options gone? If I want to repeat the alert in 1 day it is difficult to have to click on snooze every 15 minutes.

For the last week or so I've been having an increasingly regular problem with Mail. Upon launching, the app opens a dialog window saying, "Mail can't connect to the Google account 'Gmail'. Enter the password for user (username)." Then when I enter the password, the app crashes. Sometimes clicking the "Cancel" botton allows the app to open, but sometimes that results in a crash as well. Also, when I can launch Mail successfully, sometimes when I try to send mail, the outgoing mail will sit in the Outbox unsent.
I've been getting these warnings with both my Yahoo and Gmail accounts. Until a few days ago I was using Yahoo as my primary account, but the inability to send mail caused me to switch to Gmail as my primary. After a couple days of smooth sailing, I'm now getting the same errors with my Gmail.
I use sleep from Apple pulldown menu; after a while the computer wakes up, after a few minutes it shuts down. New iMac, 10.9.

Problem: When running computer in clamshell mode, it will often log me out automatically and/or crash the computer and/or cause an auto restart.
I've run a hardware test by holding down D during restart and it didn't show any issues there.
I've run a sleep/wake test in Terminal using a command I found on Google:

I can't access my Macbook Pro remotely, specially after several hours of inactivity,, whenever I try to access content of my library through the remote app or the Apple TV I'm unable to wake my Macbook Pro up.
My Macbook Pro is 2012 model (the last with de CD Drive) and it's running the Maverick OS, my questions are:
* I'm unable to find the "Unable Power Nap while plugged" option on the energy saver tab... is that because the model of my laptop doesn't support that?
* In order to access content from my library remotely, should the "Computer Sleep" option on the energy saver be on "Never" instead of the "1 hour" that I'm currently using... or is there a way to still be able to wake up the laptop with those settings
After the computer has been in sleep mode for a little while, when i try to wake up the computer, it turns to a cray scree, a loading bar appears and then it takes like 5 mins for the icons to appear and for the mouse to work!

There have been a number of laptop thefts at gun/knife point in my neighborhood recently. I'm backing up all my data frequently, but wouldn't want a thief to have access to my personal information like bank statements, personal pictures, etc, stored on my laptop. If I set "Require password to wake this computer from sleep or screen saver" in Security of System Preferences, does this really mean there's no way for somebody else to gain control apart from re-formatting the drive?

I have mavericks OS X and created a new user due to problems with my older user account. move all of my files over to the new user without any problems. However now when I am on my new user and I go to make any changes to these old files it requires my password any time I make a change. I have checked the document information and it has my new user listed with read and write permission and my older user is no longer listed and the document is not locked according to the get info screen. Is there a way to turn off this feature of requiring a password to edit the document or a reason why it is requiring me to input a password each time?

when a RESTART my device, I don't see the PASSWORD FIELD. I see the pointer, the "welcome message" below,the name of the admin (myself) above, the picture above. i see everything but the space in wich you write the password.i can write it without seeing it neither its field.
Is there an app that sits in the menu bar to shortcut turning the sleep password on/off? Sometimes when I'm at home i don't want it off but when i travel i want it on.
View 3 Replies View RelatedBoth iCloud and FaceTime are continually prompting for passwords. Hitting 'cancel' usually dismisses the iCloud box, but the FaceTime box just keeps reappearing.
I don't want to enter either password until I'm ready to, and I especially could care less about FaceTime because I don't use it on this computer. It can go away completely. So how can I shut it off and tell it to stop bothering me?
