I have mavericks OS X and created a new user due to problems with my older user account. move all of my files over to the new user without any problems. However now when I am on my new user and I go to make any changes to these old files it requires my password any time I make a change. I have checked the document information and it has my new user listed with read and write permission and my older user is no longer listed and the document is not locked according to the get info screen. Is there a way to turn off this feature of requiring a password to edit the document or a reason why it is requiring me to input a password each time?
I would like to password protect a PDF. I have password protected a Numbers document, but cannot figure out how to do it with a PDF. The option to add a password is grayed out in the drop down menu.
How do I put a password on a document or file on my MAC? - I don't want it on a guest account, I have certain files that I want to keep password protected but others that are not.
I have not needed a pasword in the past and I remember years ago in was not possible for a P/W for a document folder.Has there been any changes that now allow for passwords for a document? If not, any free apps out there for it?
How do I do it? I want the document to require a password to open. I did the tools-->protection--protect workbook/sheet thing but that didn't do it, the document could still be opened, just not edited. I have a budget sheet with all of my online account passwords I don't want accessible if the computer gets stolen.
Is there a way to password protect a file? or Hide the file from being seen from anyone? I've got my text document which I have all of my bills, account numbers, web site to pay the bill with passwords and everything and I'd like to hide or password protect it.
Can someone please help me open a document in Mac Word that I password protected then forgot the password? There must be some way to do this. I have spent the last two hours online trying to find a solution but everything is made for windows.
I am trying to open an Adobe document on my Mac 10.4.11. It asks me for a password (that I don't recall setting up); I've tried every password I've ever had, to no avail. I'm wasting too much trying to find the information I need.
For the last week or so I've been having an increasingly regular problem with Mail. Upon launching, the app opens a dialog window saying, "Mail can't connect to the Google account 'Gmail'. Enter the password for user (username)." Then when I enter the password, the app crashes. Sometimes clicking the "Cancel" botton allows the app to open, but sometimes that results in a crash as well. Also, when I can launch Mail successfully, sometimes when I try to send mail, the outgoing mail will sit in the Outbox unsent. Â
I've been getting these warnings with both my Yahoo and Gmail accounts. Until a few days ago I was using Yahoo as my primary account, but the inability to send mail caused me to switch to Gmail as my primary. After a couple days of smooth sailing, I'm now getting the same errors with my Gmail.
I'm stuck in a problem, the font I want to use can't save in pdf, illustrator give me this error, I don't know how to change the font to make this work,
I know a software in windows named Font Creator that looks promising, But I don't know exactly how to use it
STHeiti and STXihei they are both the default Chinese fonts in Mac os.
I have an iMac desktop with a 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5 processor and 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 memory. The operating system is Mac OS X, 10.9.4. Using my current software, I am unable to satisfactorily scan a document (in this case, a small community street map showing streets and lots with house numbers and owner's last names) and then be able to edit the scanned map to update it with new owner's names. I am told that a PDF scanner app may allow to me to scan and edit a document.Â
Occasionally I will turn on my IMac and I wont have any sound. When I try to turn up or down the sound, there is a restriction symbol in the sound box that pops up and nothing will happen. The old restart usually works. However, when I try to plug in headphones or an external audio cable, nothing changes. I still get sound out of the computer, and it works like there is nothing in the jack. All software is up to date, I reset PRAM and did the "unplug everything" drill. Still no change. When I did the unplug everything, its almost notorious for having the first problem of "no sound".
I'm trying to add a signature to a document. I've discovered that I can do this in Preview. I've used the FaceTime camera to scan my signature, saved it and I can see it when I click on Tools > Annotate > Signature. I can't add it to my document though. I've read that I need Preview to Show Edit Toolbar but this option is greyed out. The Edit button on the toolbar is also greyed out. I created the document in Word.Â
I currently have XP installed on a external drive with VMware Fusion and it looks like having Access for school is gonna make my life easier. My University store has Office 2007 Pro (not student) for $65 for 1 computer only.
Can I install this on my current setup now (MBP) and then later:
re-install it when I do a clean install of Windows 7.
Go the BootCamp route and install XP or Windows 7, then re-install Office.
In other words: using same MBP, can I go from Fusion, Bootcamp, external drive setup without screwing up my activation of 1 computer only.
Preview will still open .pdf, but not .jpg. It happened suddenly, no rhyme or reason. I've checked the info on the .jpgs, there's no restriction on the permissions that should keep them from opening, and Preview is selected as the app to open them. I've tried trashing the .plist, repairing permissions, and restarting. No dice. I'm running 10.5.6, and haven't installed anything recently.
I want to set up a separate user accout for a friend on my mac, but I want to keep my work private. Specifically my
Sites folder which holds web files that need to be accessed by root / *web_user* --- whatever appachies user is, www_root maybe.Â
How do I simply restrict access to other 'Created Login Users' from accessing my entire home folder? I need to just keep out other login accounts i set up thru the system accounts window.Â
I have been using Preview to separate pdf pages into separate pdf documents. How might I do the reverse. Preview appears to have combined the documents in the thumbnail, but will not allow saving this. It just saves the highlighted page.
I upgrade my iCloud to iCloud Drive when I used the Yosemite . Yesterday, I reinstall Mavericks and then iCloud is not working anymore. I can't see iCloud in Pages , Numbers, Sketch 3 , etc. I can't access any iCloud Data anymore and I can't work at home now.Â
Is there any way to download iCloud Drive or how to do to support iCloud Document and data again in current Mavericks.
